    ABOUT US:
We’re traveling full time, living on our own terms and showing you the up-close-and-personal details of us figuring it out along the way. Sometimes it’s about navigating big, life-altering decisions. Sometimes it’s about navigating the seemingly lawless free-for-all that is driving in Hanoi. It’s moments of triumph and moments of panic. The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny.
We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.” Just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem. We believe the world’s a more interesting place when people reject convention in favor of what they actually care about. This is us putting that idea to the test - one budget spreadsheet, RV renovation and mountain-peak drone video at a time.
    Season 1 Highlights:
-2 Months of RV renovation in 7 minutes.
-Leaving Florida and first boondocking experience.
-Trying to get our hands bit of by Alligators in Lousiana.
-Party time in New Orleans in the French Quarter.
-Talk through how we develop our fulltime rv travel itinerary.
-Bad things happen in Galveston Texas where we have an engine breakdown on the beach.
-We get to check out our first Harvest Hosts when we stay overnight at a winery.
-Playing all around Austin Texas and eating everything in sight.
-We remember the Alamo in San Antonio…and do some caving to keep Finney happy.

I've heard is said that "RV" stands for "Ruined Vacation." We have a converted van, and there have been some issues, but certainly not "Ruined"! Simplicity is important - complex systems are finicky. Good travels to you!

@@psychfish We finally got on the road and it has been quite the adventure! Crash corse is putting it nicely. We are working out the kinks and are starting to enjoy our time much more now. It’s for sure an adjustment and is NOT all butterflies and rainbows. It’s all just how you adapt and overcome ALL the obstacles😉

Congrats to you both for the Class A rig and the life of fun and adventure that awaits you. Last year we had a tire blow.....and the tow bill was only $1200. Then last week on a trip to Reno, we lost the fridge. The great thing about RV'ing is.....it's a guaranteed mechanics' dream! MORE fun than a rental house!

When you stayed at that place on state land in Lake Panasoffkee Florida, the only reason they have you sign in is so they can check the sheet every day and make sure someone didn't go hiking in the woods and get lost and not make it out okay. If they find an issue they will send out a search party to find the person/persons. There are nice places like that all over Florida that a lot of campers don't know about. Some charge like $2 or $3 a person, but most of those have restrooms.
If people are traveling and camping through Florida, Google "Florida Wildlife Management area camping", and you will find a lot of places like that.

I've lived an interesting life as a drifter / Nomad all my life but it really increased for us in 2012. I've done it as a single mom, no RV just the same little car for for seven years, we lived in rentals, hotels, other people's rvs on their property, we've lived in 13 different towns since 2013 from New mexico to Utah and Nevada and also traveled through Arizona and the country of chile once in 2018. Its just me and my 17 year old daughter now back in New mexico, in a year it's either back to Utah or Yuma Arizona yay! We are born nomads, there's no other way of life for our kind ...🥰

Just like the movies , all the problems and drama make for good interesting intertainment. Like star trek when there's trouble the crew kicks into action , it's exciting for those watching. Just something to think about when it hits the fan from time to time.
I would bless the rice that you're putting the electronics in and also bless the RV . Everything that went wrong that I saw was the electronics , the drone , RV steps , cell , and camera , all in a short period of time , the rice was also a part of the equation.
I wish you guys all the best , young , kind , intelligent , always in a positive mood even when it's going sideways , they are very cool.
Living the adventure that is life , cheers to your parents who must have been great people , and cheers to your great neighbors in Florida that all got together and helped you.
Yoga with goats was new to me , so I can say you're videos are educational as well. Best of luck and God speed my friends.
I know this is an old video but I really had fun hanging out with you guys for the first time in this sat morning.

The POSITIVE : You guys are such an amazing couple, and your passion for fun and new experiences obviously drive your passion too do this. I love your videos, I watched the almost 2 hours of your video, and never got board. I watch a ton of youtube videos that are 15-20 min long on average and most times I dont even make it all the way through most of them because they are so boring . Great job on your Videos and editing, it was fun to watch this video. The NEUTRAL : You both say you work on the road but you never say what it is you do, I think it would be great for you to share with us viewers how you make your money on the road, because it looks like what you have done in this video can cost a ton of money. The NEGATIVE: Dont have anything negative to say, it was a great video, I enjoyed it, you kept me entertained, and honestly I was planning on watching a movie on Netflix tonight, but this was much better. Keep up the great work, you guys rock , and look forward to see what you do next :)

I enjoyed Season 1 and glad I caught it! Another YT channel said that living in an RV is like putting your house through an earthquake every time you drive the RV, so something is going to break, wear down or loosen. So this means RV maintenance and checking the equipment status will have to be ingrained into the routine before more things break at the worst times. I didn't see you two doing much preventive things to make your adventures go smoother. Making daily or every other day RV checks is a good habit to get into because there will be times when you cannot wait for repairs, parts, or help.... Just my 2 cents.

Don’t leave your dump valves open. If you do the water will run off and the sludge will stay behind and buildup in your tanks and harden. Then it’s tank replacement.

Love that you guys show how to successfully transition to mobile life for most normal people. Watched a few of your docu compilations now, & for someone who's never really watched peoples' blogs your fun & happy vibe while keeping it real is great, I'd definitely reccomend as examples of how to now!
My favorite things is traveling in a van to hike & backpack as much as possible! but I always encourage people to give mobile living a shot no matter how you like to spend your time. It's a major lifestyle change, but for millions of people whom just work 9-5s for 40+ years living in the same apts, or at best getting a nice house & cars out of a lifetime devotion, to me it was a no brainer decision for which I'd rather pursue. So now I try to work only to save & continue a mobile lifestyle.

Spectacular! It is really nice to see it all in one video! I first subscribed when you left Florida after getting the coach ready to start your journey....again...like Tim said the first 5 hours somehow didn't count...lol. You guys are very positive and watching today was very inspirational for me because later this year I will be starting my own journey:)
Didn't realize your plan was to take that big highway from Alaska down to the bottom of South America! What an epic trip indeed! I love Central America and will be with you watching carefully. I too never owned an RV before had been a boater and spent all my life here on eastern Long Island, New York. Am selling my place near the Hamptons and getting a new 2019 Newmar Bay Star 3401 in the fall. Hopefully there will be less problems and fixing with a new coach but fixing is part of RVing.
    Cheers!

As tempting as it is to leave the valve for the grey water open I don't recommend it. You will want to drain the black water before you leave and you're going to want to run the grey out to clean out the hose after.
The OTHER advantage of having grey in the tank is that you can (provided you buy a shutoff valve for your drain hose) use the equalizing method to run half of the grey water INTO your black tank to help flush IT out. (Once that is done, shut the valve for the grey tank and open the shutoff valve to drain the black tank AGAIN. Then shut the black and drain the balance of the grey water. I know this sounds confusing but once you figure out how to do it you'll do it every time you have the opportunity. Works great.
Another advantage to not leaving the grey tank open is that you needn't worry about plastic seals drying out or bugs crawling up into your grey tank.

If you do decide to paint again and you are going to use a dark color make sure you have the primer tinted close to your final color saves on your finished color.

Stunning remodel and a lot of fantastic organizing ideas whether you believe it or not! Been really trying to visualize ways to update ours and more specifically how to make the most out of the space and I’m just not a creative person! So as much as you guys say you’re not great at doing this stuff, from here I’m very grateful for y’all’s “lack” of decorating skills! Hehehe 😂

Oh! So many 'That's me!' but the ferry! I used to commute on a ferry in Washington, and for a while I was driving an old Mercedes that.. if it died, you couldn't restart it. One night I was last on and the ferry workers let me leave it running for the 30 minute crossing. The last thing I wanted was to have my Mercedes pushed off by the crew. Haha! Good memories!

Realizing this is years later but steps on all motorhomes especially from the north where there is salt are always a POS guaranteed it needs a new motor they trap salt on top of the motor. In 14 years with our class A we installed 3 additional motors as most RV items are they are just JUNK!!

The best bloody Mary's in New Orleans are at "Gazebo Cafe" on Decatur St. toward Esplanade Ave. I used to work there. They also make Muffalettas, the sandwich you're talking about.

Thank you for sharing your journey. I have never been to the Alamo but...11 of my kinsmen's names are on that plaque. I guess they would have been my great aunts and uncles (not sure how many greats back 2 or 3 for sure lol) My great great grandmother was bi-lingual (not sure how many greats but I think two.) She was a Spanish lady descended down from Spanish kings. Her family had a title from the Spanish kings. She was Texan by birth and she was Sam Houston's secretary / interpreter.
All my people are from Texas. :)

After you tied up the steps you said you thought you were done, but you weren't. After a repair I said "We're done." The repairman said, "You have an RV, you're never done!"

    • @timandfin
      @timandfin  6 лет назад

How true that has been! I'm editing a video together of every dollar we've spent on the "mechanical" side of the RV (as opposed to the renvoation.) The repairs NEVER stop.

You people are fun, wish I was a co-driver. Love the white cabinets. By the way the step is a seized up motor. Unfortunately the way the steps are built and where they are located let’s your front wheel throw debris and salt in the winter onto the motor. Then it seizes up, a very poor design unless you’re selling motors. Unfortunately this step mechanism is used on most motorhomes very poor design. With our motorhome I always kept one in stock. But as you’ve already found out when you buy a motorhome you’re very lucky if they have screwed it to the frame they are basically junk on wheels and that goes for any brand although Winnebago is probably one of the best.

Better take the Atlantic to Cartagena, IF you have the opportunity go to La guajira, then south bound to Bucaranga then Boyacá.... Or go to Medellín, then continúe to many other places Neiva... And then Ecuador, Perú , many BEAUTIFULL place to know. Have a good RV trip👍😉

I'm considering retiring in Mexico soon and I really enjoy watching your new AND old videos!
In this episode, your throttle body is just a butterfly valve and a throttle position sensor that costs about $40-$60 but can often just be cleaned. Sounds like your "mechanic" charged you for replacing the whole throttle body.

    • @timandfin
      @timandfin  5 лет назад

Tried cleaning- didn't work. This is a common issue on the engine that was in this RV. Was more than happy to pay and be back on the road again that day- having a RV that might not start when crossing on the ferry near Galveston was enough stress!
