Song Note: The composer of Greensleeves is unknown although various myths about the song's possible composer have been put forth. Greensleeves is an traditional, English folk song, most likely composed around 1580. The song was already a classic by the time Shakespeare included reference to the song in two of his literary works. The 1865 composition of the Christmas favorite, "What Child Is This?", was inspired by Greensleeves.
