Nope, so many beautiful masters in West Africa. Salif Kieta and Angelique Kidjo are pure talents too. The ones who are dead are talents the entire West Africa will forever miss. I did not mention them because I'm hoping you search for them and share in our beautiful music.
Fabuleux tout ce travail et cet héritage qui se perpétue de génération en génération, de Pères aux fils. Fierté africaine... Salutations et reconnaissances du Burkina Faso
His sound is so distinct, when you hear the guitar, you know it's Vieux Farka Toure, just like you know it's Santana or Eric Clapton. Fabulous!! I could listen all day.
Vieux Farka digne héritier du grand Aly Farka TOURE avec une voix et une habileté de manier à la perfection sa guitare 🎸 pour adoucir les cœurs avec des compositions authentiques du Mali 🇲🇱 profond.
It’s an amazing the way he plays the guitar. super skillful. The rhythm make me emotional without understanding one word what he saying. I kept watching this video for awhile it’s heart touching song (I guess) Can somebody help me with TRANSLATION PLEASE. All love brother, keep doing the good things.
!!! Wow what a guitar - picking style !!!. phenomenal. also great band. the bass sond/player i like a lot too. its not my kind of music. main reason : i dont understand one word. and the lyrics are very important to me too. can anyone tell me if he or african guitarists use another tuning than "our" standrdard - tuning. i also like a lot of oriental scales wich got only 5 tones i heared...instead off our 8 tome scale (c d e f g a b c ). g from germany
Its not my kind of music (main reason is because i dont understand the lyrics, whats important for me to) But this track is good bluesey and he is a phenmenal guitar - player. What a pickingstyle, wow !!! I like this african guitar - playing style. I dont know why it sounds so differnt. Does anyone knows something about there tuning or what scales he/africans play ? I also like oriental guitar scales. They got only a 5 tones.(i heared) Most cultures got the 8 "tone ladder" (c d e f g a b c). So, again.. this is a great track. G from germany
I don't play guitar but I know they use different tuning, rythms and scales. There are many videos explaining this. Most would agree that the rhythm is the most important thing. Its almost always based on "cross rhythm." Another important thing is the scales and playing style are derived from other African instruments adapted to the modern guitar. Many of these guitarists started off on traditional African instruments like Ngoni(lute), Njakra(violin), kora(harp) etc. and later taught themselves to play modern instruments.

It is Vieux's music I want to listen to always-from the first time I saw him in 2013. He is simply the master of West African music.

Malian music is always good but this guy and his late father are exceptions.

Bit fast in playing guitar, Ali Fraka had sense makes you feel the music so called African blues.
