It's disgusting to insert commercials IN THE MIDDLE of the music!!! This music is sacred. Put all the ads you want BEFORE you play the video of the song! 😳
Deep deep desert blues from Niafunke Mali. This man is the blues,as was his farther,Ali Farka. Can and do listen to Ali and son playing this fantastic Mali music.
mike spencer By the way "mike spencer" at the wonderfull age of 70 you must know a lot. if you like this defo check out the collaboration with Ry Cooder, "Talking Timbuktu." Reply
My native language - English - simply does not contain the adjectives to describe this in the way I feel it deserves. The best I can muster is two words - stunningly spectacular. This is the creme de la creme
I'm not the type of person that bothers commenting on RUclips but this song is one of the few things that is worth the time. I remember hearing this song for the first time in the movie "Unfaithful" and it stuck with me. It was so pervasive that I had to find it. I'm not an old guy at 31 but it really has to be said that they simply don't make music like this anymore. There is such soul and depth to this in the chords that little else need be added. I'm well aware that his father wrote the song but I feel blessed to be born at a time that I'm able to hear something as hypnotizing as "Ai Du". Truly amazing music. I think the only thing that could top hearing this song, is hearing it live and this is probably the closest I'll ever get to that.
God bless exelent musicians He is my #1 musician I am hooked to all his music almost twenty two years now I play the cds ln my small ethiopian restaurant in grand rapids Mi All my hippy customers go crazy listening to his songs God bless Ali F and his admirers Love
He played this song right to my face just a foot away from me, I cried the whole time. it was one of the most wonderful things to ever happen to me. Yes it is a sexy song just as sexy as his father delivered it
Ai Du Lyrics in English: Trust and faith in your fellow man has no equal. If you have experienced trust you will know its strength. You must know yourself before you know others.
He was on the Dec 2015 rollingstone mag. I wanna see him in the blues community more. I know his style is different but its still very much as the heart of the blues.
Oh Fantastic! Many innocent children and women from Mali were stolen by lawless, godless and heartless bandits, sold to the Nazara(christians/whites) as slaves.
I first heard this song when I was 17 and lost it for a long time because I couldn't remember the title. I found it again 14 years later and I am sooo happy I did.

Saw this guy today at the Devizes Carnival and I thought he and his band were sensational. They call him the Hendrix of the Sahara - he deserves the compliment. Watching him live you get a stonking blues/rock/afro/celt sound with unbelievably, effortless guitar playing. I've seen most of the top guitar players in my time and I rate 'Vieux' up there with the best.
I have been watching unfaithful over and over just so I could hear little bits of this song. I'm sooooo glad I finally found the whole thing. It is awesome.
I'm more attached to his father's original version, but this is also excellent. The guitar tuning/playing sounds pretty much like Ali's tuning/playing on the solo version of 'Diaraby'. Great to see Vieux is continuing the legacy in his own way and right. Thanks to the uploader!
Che spettacolo! Ha le stesse sonorita' di Hendrix, un vero sballo, e pensare che l'ho scoperto solo per un film, l'amore infedele! Ho il dvd e domani sera lo faranno in tv, ma questo artista e' un immortale!!
Much respect Mr Ali Farka Toure' ... rest ... we will miss you, one of the greatest Blues Musicians EVER, if not the best. The REAL roots of the blues is in the history and feeling of your music. I can definitely feel it, and I am from the Mississippi river area myself so I appreciate GOOD blues when I hear it. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. Bless you Mr Toure'. much respect.
Vieux played Ai Du as an encore in Aspen. After a great performance and a spectacular encore which lasted 20 minutes and they had left the stage. They came back and played this, just unbelievable. I compare it to Miles Davis, All Blues live in Stockholm 1960.
I am so grateful I found him, I first heard on unfaithful and needed much more of him deepest appreciation , from a music lover who needs music to transcend this time and place to leave behind pain, to find grace, all the good things
Gorgeous piece of music! Blues origin is africa when it was sung only by mouth, thats humble blues that gets deep into your bone. He is very talented to say the least! Bravo
