So if I can try and answer your guys' question... From what I'm aware of (though I'm unsure how accurate this information is): While there were other movies released before this, they all centered in the original series timeline or just before the gang got back together. These four movies in particular were meant to be a sort of sequel to the original animated series of the 70s 'Scooby- Doo Where Are You'. That at the end of the series the gang parted ways to go on do other things like we saw in Zombie Island (Daphne and Fred starting a TV show about all the mysteries they encountered, Scooby and Shaggy working odd jobs like Airport Contraband inspectors, and Velma opened up a bookstore specializing in mystery and horror). Scooby and Shaggy for a time actually go off with Scooby's nephew Scrappy (who the majority of people...do not like) and do their own thing while occasionally solving mysteries. Scooby and Shaggy actually end up meeting multiple supernatural creatures at this point. Shaggy becomes a werewolf for a bit, and needs to win a race. They even end up teaching at a finishing school for girl monsters (pretty fun movies in my opinion). So some years later, when Daphne starts reminiscing about the good old days, Fred got the idea to get the gang back together. These four specific movies are basically the in-between of their next major series 'What's New Scooby-Doo' (my personal favorite of the animated series).
THIS IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SCOOBY-DOO MOVIES! I have this tape on VHS, it has an episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog on it. The others being Ghoul School, Cyberchase, Zombie Island (only the first one), Witch's Ghost, and The Legend of the Phantosaur. 😁
Why Alien Invaders is my favorite Scooby-Doo film of all time: 1. Whilst Zombie Island and Witch’s Ghost subverted many Scooby-Doo tropes, their characterization of Shaggy and Scooby was very much like the original show: scared of everything, constantly getting chased by monsters, and always hungry. Nothing wrong with that, it’s the classic formula and it works, but in Alien Invaders, for the first time, Shaggy and Scooby were finally treated as more than comic relief. Falling in love, learning to overcome their fears, and being the ones to fight the villains in the climax of the film. Yes, Shaggy and Scooby, the boy and his dog who in the original series, had to be bribed into doing anything remotely scary, fight the villains, and win. If that’s not some badass character development, I don’t know what is. This is *Shaggy and Scooby’s* movie, they are the main characters, and my god did they deserve it. 2. Alien Invaders tweaked the formula of the first two movies, and that’s a good thing. A third Scooby-Doo film in the vein of Zombie Island and Witch’s Ghost would probably have started to wear off the novelty of the new, more horror oriented Scooby-Doo. Thankfully, Alien Invaders anticipated this and went in a different direction, keeping the gritty tone and animation, but taking a more emotionally mature approach by deconstructing Shaggy and Scooby’s roles in the gang and emphasizing their character growth, and having more of a classic 50s alien flick vibe. The result is something that already feels fuzzy and nostalgic even on your first viewing, but at the same time, carries a dark undertone because of the animation and score. 3. Speaking of the animation, this is, just for me personally, one of the most beautifully animated films of all time. I mean seriously, next time you watch it, really pay attention to the visuals. The aesthetics are absolutely gorgeous, pure scenery porn. The seediness of the town, the loneliness of the desert, the mysteries of the sky, are all captured perfectly by the animators, and the music only emphasizes this. The animation of the first two films was great as well, but in my opinion, this is as good as it got. 4. Steve, Laura and Max are awesome villains. These three should have gotten a lot more screen time. They are so over the top and I absolutely love them. Mark Hammill did not have to go all out as a Scooby-Doo villain, oh but he did. What an icon. And I’m just gonna say it guys, the Steve / Laura undertones are there. I saw it even as a kid. Don’t believe me, watch the way they interact with each the other compared to with Max, then watch final fight scene again. 5. I’ve already mentioned it a few times, but the music in this movie sets the tone and atmosphere of the film from the very beginning. It is very much designed to be intentionally fuzzy and nostalgic, which we see with songs like “Groovy”, but also have a foreboding undertone, as heard in of the ambient soundtrack and “The Aliens Are Here”. The aesthetic feel of this movie is totally unique in the canon of Scooby-Doo films, and the music and animation working together to create this nostalgic, mysterious desert town setting have everything to do with that. 6. The ending: Demonstrating again the emotional maturity of this film compared to the others, this is arguably the first and only Scooby-Doo film to end on a tragic note. It gets to the point that the writers had to resort to a totally unrealistic Scooby Snax ex Machina to snap our heroes out of their depressed state, but real fans will always remember the iconic shot of Shaggy and Scooby mournfully gazing out into the universe, knowing their soul mates were now sailing amongst the stars. This is why we need Alien Invaders 2 or at least some kind of return for Crystal. The open ending here is just begging for closure. 24 years and still waiting 😭 In conclusion: This movie is effing awesome, 10/10, only thing I would say is I wish it was longer!
I’m severely depressed rn and having trouble engaging in anything but these Scooby Doo movie throwbacks are making me really happy. These were some of my favorite movies as a kid - can’t wait for you to do Cyber Chase as well!
Now we're working with the true summer vibes. 🤩There's such a mysteriousness to this one. So much about it isn't explained, Crystal and Amber's whole world. It's such a ride.
The fake aliens are actually my favorite. The way they look, sound, behave The first chase scene where they fall for Shaggy and Scooby’s disguises only to to stop and be like “Wait a minute!” and tear off Shaggy abd Scooby’s disguises was well done. Then the last scene after Fred, Daphne abd Velma were captured the one alien just throws his fists in the air like “Victory!” was hilarious
this series of four plus Where’s My Mummy, Legend of the Vampire, and Loch Mess Monster just make me so happy. I still have all the DVDs from when I was a kid and I rewatch them quite often
Of all four movies, I wasn't expecting this to be the one causing a debate what the cannon and plot is XD But yeah the emotional strings they pull are why this quadrilogy is still beloved, and it's nice to see some experience it for the first time.
Scooby-doo is an alien. MatPat watched the entire Scooby-doo universe and found an episode where they explain it. He made a theory on it. Not all dogs in the universe can talk. That's why when Amber was undercover, she didn't speak. It also explains why Scooby is always confused when people refer to him as a dog. He's decended from aliens.
If your going to do some more Scooby movies please react to these: * Cyber Chase (favorite classic) * Camp Scare (Before Mystery Incorporated series) * The Legend Of The Vampire (Another Hex Girls appearance.) * Frankencreepy (favorite modern movie.)
First of all, I want to say that I love your content and comentary. Been watching your stuff for like a couple of months now and I already became a golden Billy on patreon. Right now I'm dealing with a lot of anxiety and I just wanted to thank all four of you, 'cause your videos are helping a lot, so thank you again. Lots of love from Spain💚💜 I also wanted to leave some recomendation about the Scooby-Doo movies before you get into Mystery Inc., whenever that may be. For the movies that deal with real monsters: There are some from the older era of Scooby, which are a classic; 'Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School' 1988, 'Scooby-Doo! and the Reculant Werewolf' 1988, and a mini-series of 13eps 'The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo' 1985. There's also the first two live action movies, from 2002 and 2004. And for 'newer' movies with no real monsters, I recommed these: 'Monster of Mexico' 2003, 'Loch Ness Monster' 2004, 'Where's My Mummy?' 2005, 'Pirates Ahoy!' 2006, 'Camp Scare' 2010, 'Frankencreepy' 2014, and maybe at some point 'Scoob!' 2020 So sorry for the long comment, but I hope you like my recommendations.
Cyberchase and alien invaders were the scooby doo movies I watched (out of the 4 (Zombie Island, Alien Invaders, Cyberchase, And the Phantasour one) but I did watch the heck out of "The Monster of Mexico"
Definitely one of my favorite films! Next you guys need to see Scooby-Doo and The Cyber Chase, Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers, Scooby-Doo and the Samurai Sword and Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School.
Man, Jimmy Neutron was a blast. Weird. At times very weird, but a lot of fun. And there's a whole show after the movie which alone was a not insubstantial portion of childhood nostalgia.
I used to watch 'Win, Loose, or Kablooey' with my neices when they were little. One of their favorite parts was what Bolbi said as he cast his vote in that Survivor reference xD
other than the 4, there's also the one in australia with vampires and the one in mexico with the chupacabra and the one in egypt with the mummy. there's probably more but those are the ones I remember.
I'm so glad you three have been enjoying these movies. They were my childhood! ^^ I've been binging your videos for like the past 3 days. XD I really hope ya'll do Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. It's SUCH a good series, and by far my favorite thing to come out of Scooby Doo it is WILD. Since you like Avatar the Last Airbender, I think you'll love MI just as much.
Would love to see you guys watch Scooby Goes Hollywood once you’re done with this run of movies! There’s technically a lot of movies in this era/canon, but the first 4 are considered the best.
Disclaimer: Excessive explanations from a long-time Scooby-Doo fan While I love this Scooby-Doo tetralogy, there are a lot of great movies that came out post the “What’s New Scooby-Doo” show using a more high quality version of its animation. “Legend of the Phantosaur” is objectively the best just for Biker Daphne and Kung-Fu Shaggy, but “Shaggy’s Showdown”, “Moon Monster Madness”, “Franken Creepy”, “Wrestlemania Mystery”, “Monster of Mexico”, “The Samurai Sword”, “Legend of the Vampire”, “Camp Scare”, Kiss, Rock&Roll Mystery”, and “Curse of the 13th Ghost” are all pretty good too. That last one is also a continuation of the 80’s “Curse of the 13 Ghosts” to finish its story as it was cancelled, and there was also a sequel to Zombie Island in the form of “Return to Zombie Island”, which butchers everything that made the original fun. Also, there are a lot more Scooby movies that’ve been released since 2003 up until just this year, over 20 in fact, but those 11 are the best and the rest feel like a normal episode of Scooby-Doo padded to an hour without the twists and turns these movies take.
all scooby shows and movies are so funny and interesting. they were my whole childhood and i still love watching them. so fun to see you guys watch them.
Found this channel yesterday(???)ish and compared to many of the newer things I'd completely have overlooked you guys until i saw the Scooby Doo stuff. I miss these movies man nostalgia shit
So in this core four you only have one left. However a classic that I love is the legend of the vampire. It’s weird and wild and has the hex girls if I remember right!!
Lol Third movie and the people who were nice with them weren´t the bad guys XD element of surprise at last. And wow, back then the first time I saw this movie, I was calling out that the aliens that abducted Scooby and Shaggy were probably fakes, because real classic aliens usually use anti-gravity light beam to abduct animals or humans, using cables to grab them were both out of context and kinda sus XD But never get to put the pieces together with the "who".
Actually the first people we see are the bad guys when they get that signal, then when they meet the gang for the first time they are nice to them. So it does fit the formula
Definitely watch Mystery Incorporated when you finish the movies, its goofy as all hell and there are some changes made to the characters, but it was insanely good! I've been a scooby doo fan since i started walking and i have ZERO hate for Mystery Incorporated, What's New Scooby-Doo? is good too, its a modern (2002) take on the OG 1969 show, back to formula basically. Super stoked to see how this goes, glad y'all are liking the movies!
paused at 7:52. That fella in the red and with a cowboy like hat talking about Aliens. Knew a person IRL that looked like a twin and was even more crazy. To paraphrase them... I saw 100 UFO's a night and only believed 20 of them. Like wheres your proof then friend? Always made me laugh to see Dave. I saw this movie first so it made me laugh.
From what I remember in the Scooby Doo series and animated movies more often then not any character that one of the mystery gang falls in love with ends up being the bad guy. It's a nice change of pace to see the opposite here. They even did a second twist by having the original aliens be fake and them being the actual aliens. I was upset when they left though. On a side note I think Scrappy is one of the main reasons they haven't added any characters to the group despite the Scooby Doo cartoon going through multiple reboots and has been around for so long. The show Velma is apparently so bad too that I have a feeling it will just dig the cartoons grave for good.
yea there was a show that used the movie designs called "whats new scooby-doo", it was pretty good but had much more classic guy-in-a-mask plots than the movies. also it and these movies are all set in the same continuity as the original show from the 60's, just updated to be more modern
If I had a nickel for every time Scooby Doo fell in love with some kind of alien life-form I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Idk about movies but in mestery ink scboby do shaggy parents are rich i think only velma parents arent but even they have money they take care of museum and a few other stuff
There's a few halfway decent Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy movies with real monsters. Ghoul School and the Boo Brothers come to mind. There's also a Whacky Races knockoff called the Reluctant Werewolf. And Scrappy isn't the insufferable character everyone hates in those movies. And there was a single season show called the 13 Ghosts that didn't get its finale until a few years ago when they released a movie finale. Mystery Incorporated is the goat.
On your first movie reviewing; I gave you guys the original Scooby-Doo timeline, for the TV series. Scooby-Doo started in 1969; with Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? I was only 4 at the time, but I remember it well, and seen it many times as a kid. Go back to the Zombie Land video; for more on the timeline
I would love to see crystal and amber return some way to the show, organically of course. Maybe like a stationed patrol for earths sector of space kinda deal. I do know that the next one, cyber chase, start to take on the develop the art style and character designs that would then roll to the following movies and the series what’s new Scooby doo, which has one of the BEST openings across the countless Scooby-Doo shows and movies. what’s new Scooby doo is pretty good, definitely recommend.

I like the outfits Fred, Daphne and Velma have in this movie. Y'all should check out the movie Scoob. I don't think it was received well but honestly it's a great movie.
I hope they bring Crystal and Amber back in another Scooby Doo film. Maybe this time, Shaggy and Scooby are brought to their planet. The next Scooby Doo films you should do are the monster of Mexico and the Legend of the Vampire.
Hey, if y’all are liking these, there’s a few more Scooby-Doo movies with real monsters. Scooby Doo and the Samurai Sword, Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase (this is an interesting one, to say the least), Scooby Doo and the Goblin King (one of my personal favorites and really leans HEAVILY into the idea of the gang dealing with real supernatural creatures). There’s also some older ones, like Scooby Doo and the Boo Brothers and Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School. As for shows with real monsters, the only one that comes to mind immediately is The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo. I used to have that one on DVD and I’m sure I drove my grandma crazy with how many times I watched it 😂. There’s also Scooby Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf, Scooby Doo and the Arabian Nights, Scooby Doo and KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery, and Scooby Doo: Straight Outta Nowhere (which had Courage the Cowardly Dog in it). If nothing else, PLEASE react to The Goblin King 🙏🏻🙏🏻, it would make my day 😁. Really loving these blasts from the past though, thanks for reacting to them!
I recommend What's New Scooby-doo?! It may be the short with three seasons, 42 episodes in total. This was the best. Only a hand full of people knew about it but is was awesome. Please guys I know people know Mystery Incorporated but just give What's New a shot. If you don't like it you can roast me for begging you guys watch it.
To answer your question, there are a lot of scooby-doo shows. My favourites are mystery incorporated and what’s new scooby-doo, which are the shows I think you would like the most
mystery incorporated is popular for good reason, but its a much more plot driven show and isnt episodic monster of the week like classic. i grew up with whats new scooby doo, which was the classic formula updated for the 2000s, it feels very similar to these movies. i really love whats new scooby doo, its a lot of fun. and if course the classic old school one which idk how many people actually watch it now, but i always loved it. its really obvious how shoe string budget the whole thing was lmao

24 years and still waiting 😭
In conclusion: This movie is effing awesome, 10/10, only thing I would say is I wish it was longer!
I’m severely depressed rn and having trouble engaging in anything but these Scooby Doo movie throwbacks are making me really happy. These were some of my favorite movies as a kid - can’t wait for you to do Cyber Chase as well!
Hope you feel better
Now we're working with the true summer vibes. 🤩There's such a mysteriousness to this one. So much about it isn't explained, Crystal and Amber's whole world. It's such a ride.
That what I love about the 90' movies. They actually had that supernatural touch to them and just some old costumed villain😆
The fake aliens are actually my favorite. The way they look, sound, behave
The first chase scene where they fall for Shaggy and Scooby’s disguises only to to stop and be like “Wait a minute!” and tear off Shaggy abd Scooby’s disguises was well done.
Then the last scene after Fred, Daphne abd Velma were captured the one alien just throws his fists in the air like “Victory!” was hilarious
The true villain sexual frustration something I never expected to hear when it comes to Scooby doo lol
12:48: Not this time, Ruff... but she's something.XD
13:54: God DAMNIT, H-Man! HOW!?
Shaggy: “Dig that, Scoob! A talkin’ dog!”
Fred: “Imagine that…”
Legitimately my favourite bit of dialogue in any Scooby-Doo media.
This was one of the movies I had on VHS! Ah, the nostalgia is real.
It’s so weird when I see people who don’t watch movies or kids show growing up. It’s great to see reactions on stuff I grew up on.
this series of four plus Where’s My Mummy, Legend of the Vampire, and Loch Mess Monster just make me so happy. I still have all the DVDs from when I was a kid and I rewatch them quite often
There's a LOT of Scooby Doo shows. A LOT.
Mystery Incorporated is probably the most popular after the OG series.
I'd wager the OG is third place, behind Pup Named.
I always thought What's New is most popular
Of all four movies, I wasn't expecting this to be the one causing a debate what the cannon and plot is XD
But yeah the emotional strings they pull are why this quadrilogy is still beloved, and it's nice to see some experience it for the first time.
Love the video. Look forward to the mystery incorporated reactions. 😃
Now all we need a pup named Scooby Doo
Scooby-doo is an alien. MatPat watched the entire Scooby-doo universe and found an episode where they explain it. He made a theory on it. Not all dogs in the universe can talk. That's why when Amber was undercover, she didn't speak. It also explains why Scooby is always confused when people refer to him as a dog. He's decended from aliens.
in scooby doo mystery incorporated it’s revealed that decedents of the anunnaki can talk so scooby is an anunnaki
This 4 Scooby-Doo movies are the definition of my childhood
fun fact Scooby's name is Scoobert
These scoob movies were awesome. I was thrilled every time the zombie island one was up on TV
If your going to do some more Scooby movies please react to these:
* Cyber Chase (favorite classic)
* Camp Scare (Before Mystery Incorporated series)
* The Legend Of The Vampire (Another Hex Girls appearance.)
* Frankencreepy (favorite modern movie.)
I think my favourite Scooby Doo show would be What's New Scooby Doo, been a LONG time since I last watched it though.
Lots of love from Spain💚💜
I also wanted to leave some recomendation about the Scooby-Doo movies before you get into Mystery Inc., whenever that may be.
And for 'newer' movies with no real monsters, I recommed these: 'Monster of Mexico' 2003, 'Loch Ness Monster' 2004, 'Where's My Mummy?' 2005, 'Pirates Ahoy!' 2006, 'Camp Scare' 2010, 'Frankencreepy' 2014, and maybe at some point 'Scoob!' 2020
So sorry for the long comment, but I hope you like my recommendations.
Cyberchase and alien invaders were the scooby doo movies I watched (out of the 4 (Zombie Island, Alien Invaders, Cyberchase, And the Phantasour one) but I did watch the heck out of "The Monster of Mexico"
Monster of Mexico was dumb and has probably aged poorly, but I had a lot of fun watching it.
Definitely one of my favorite films! Next you guys need to see Scooby-Doo and The Cyber Chase, Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers, Scooby-Doo and the Samurai Sword and Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School.
I would love for them to go through all of the movies after the quadrilogy.
Now we gotta watch CyberChase. I’m hype for that one.
I really wanted them to react to the other scooby doo movie like the phantosaur
Somehow, the fact that Shaggy and Scooby's perfect matches were intergalactic visitors doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
other than the 4, there's also the one in australia with vampires and the one in mexico with the chupacabra and the one in egypt with the mummy. there's probably more but those are the ones I remember.
I'm so glad you three have been enjoying these movies. They were my childhood! ^^
I've been binging your videos for like the past 3 days. XD
I really hope ya'll do Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. It's SUCH a good series, and by far my favorite thing to come out of Scooby Doo it is WILD. Since you like Avatar the Last Airbender, I think you'll love MI just as much.
Other Scooby movies to check out: Cyber Chase, Monster of Mexico, Legend of the Vampire, Where’s My Mummy?, Pirates Ahoy!, and the Loch Ness Monster.
I love the edit at 27:36 😂😂😂
Daphne: Uh, have you had a chance to look at our van yet? 🙂
Buck: No! 😤
Daphne: 😡
Would love to see you guys watch Scooby Goes Hollywood once you’re done with this run of movies! There’s technically a lot of movies in this era/canon, but the first 4 are considered the best.
For the past week, y’all have been reacting to my childhood! This is awesome.
Disclaimer: Excessive explanations from a long-time Scooby-Doo fan
While I love this Scooby-Doo tetralogy, there are a lot of great movies that came out post the “What’s New Scooby-Doo” show using a more high quality version of its animation.
They better see this comment.❤ Because I 100% agree.😊
all scooby shows and movies are so funny and interesting. they were my whole childhood and i still love watching them. so fun to see you guys watch them.
This, Cyberchase, and Loch Ness were my favorites. Among the movies I saw.
For shows, What's New and Mystery Incorporated.
Found this channel yesterday(???)ish and compared to many of the newer things I'd completely have overlooked you guys until i saw the Scooby Doo stuff. I miss these movies man nostalgia shit
Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School next please !!! 🙏🏾
This is one of my favorite scooby do movies. I don’t really know why, it’s just so nostalgic and I loved when it came on tv.
"Shaggy's gonna be sokka'd!" Is the underrated line of the year
So in this core four you only have one left.
Alr everyone you know whats next!!
Cyber chase!!!!
This one has always been my favorite right next to Zombie Island.
Super stoked to see how this goes, glad y'all are liking the movies!
isn't there also a big foot one and the vampire one? oh and the loch ness monster
paused at 7:52.
And this isn't shaggy's first "girlfriend" he had one in reluctant werewolf
These were constantly played on Cartoon Network movies
20:48 I mean with all the cardio Shaggy does, not suprised.
Didn't they do an episode crossed over with supernatural where Fred says fuck
Ah no my bad it was just all the goofy catchphrases followed by "...son of a bitch"
Shaggy is a super sayen and Scooby is a prototype black light virus dog
to answer on how they pay for the food shaggy is actually pretty loaded
I love this Scooby-Doo movie. How's Groovy song was so beautiful. I feel bad for Shaggy and Scooby. Crystal and Amber are both aliens and they falls in love with them
😱😱😱👽👽👽🤣🤣🤣
god i love the straight to video scooby doo movies alien invaders is such a fun movie it feels good to see good things happen to my boys shag and scoob although i wish amber and crystal came back at least in one iteration but oh well this movie also had me convinced
jackalopes were real as a kid
You guys should watch Mystery incorporated! It’s a lot like these 4 movies!
Lester said Smoke Stacks go on the roof.
I was here for the original upload ;)
I recommend What's New Scooby-doo?! It may be the short with three seasons, 42 episodes in total. This was the best. Only a hand full of people knew about it but is was awesome.
Please guys I know people know Mystery Incorporated but just give What's New a shot. If you don't like it you can roast me for begging you guys watch it.
I remember this one I saw at my cousins house in Ireland when I was little
FEEL BETTER
hate to tell you this but scoobys name is scoobert
36:28 Mark Hamill and Jeff Bennett play the Fake MPs
There is a show for it, it's called Mystery Incorporated.
YES! Vid's back up!
To answer your question, there are a lot of scooby-doo shows. My favourites are mystery incorporated and what’s new scooby-doo, which are the shows I think you would like the most
I loved renting this movie from blockbusters!
I would rent it, and then rent again right after I returned it. I think I did that about 20 times!
mystery incorporated is popular for good reason, but its a much more plot driven show and isnt episodic monster of the week like classic. i grew up with whats new scooby doo, which was the classic formula updated for the 2000s, it feels very similar to these movies. i really love whats new scooby doo, its a lot of fun. and if course the classic old school one which idk how many people actually watch it now, but i always loved it. its really obvious how shoe string budget the whole thing was lmao
🎵So groovy🎵
🎵Just us two🎵
🎵So groovy🎵
🎵Don't forget Scooby Doo🎵
Crystal and Amber were great for Shag and Scoob ❤
charlie and the chocolate factory movie
