@@tonynapolitano8203 but don’t you see, God’s words are impacting their lives. The show is about Jesus, the son of the Father and the second person of the Trinity, as well as His words and actions while He was on the earth. There is nothing false or make believe about the Bible. Yes, there are people and actions added to the show for artistic license but that does not take away from what the show is about… Jesus Christ our Savior. The 100% God and 100% man that was born into poverty to redeem His people from the clutches of the father of lies, the evil one. Did you ever watch Tora, Tora, Tora or Pearl Harbor. Those two movies were about real, true accounts of the beginning of World War II, for us,…but people and things were added for the sake of art, for the sake of the movie. When people watch The Chosen they look at and see our Savior. They listen to His words and watch His actions. They learn about and understand what God did for us, out of love, over 2000 years ago. They go back in time and walk with Jesus and realize how much God loves us and they in turn are able to love Him back.
@@amypope878 I'm hoping they do a spinoff where the disciples get the first century church started, 3000 people getting saved after Peter preaches at pentecost, the conversion of Paul and all his missionay journeys, Philip leads the Ethopian eunuch to Christ, Paul preaching while in Roman custody, and all the exciting things in the book of Acts, and if they have time, John on Patmos being in The Spirit seeing the rapture, 7 year tribulation period, Christ coming back with all of us who are born again on white horses, touching down on Mount Olivet, eradicating the antichrist's armies with a sword in a few seconds, feeding them to all the birds, dropping the antichrist and false prophet in the lake of fire, Satan chained down in Hell, and Jesus setting up His millenial kingdom in Jerusalem. That would be awesome.
I would love to see it continue after Jesus’ ascension, and go on with the acts of the apostles- the tongues of fire, the introduction of Luke, Barnabas, Thaddeus, the execution of Stephen, the impact of persecution and Saul’s conversion- they could take the show all the way to the island of Patmos!
@@josephwheeler2672 amen. Wouldn't it be awesome to see Peter preaching pentecost where 3000 souls were saved? To see Jesus carried back up into Heaven from Mount Olivet? Saul's conversion, Stephen preaching Christ, Paul's missionary journeys, Mars hill sermon, Paul and Silas singing at midnight in the Philippian jail and the great earthquake that freed everyone in the jail, the Philippian jailer getting saved. Years ago on TBN there was a movie called Apocalypse starring the late Richard Harris as John the revelator on Patmos and although it didn't show all that John saw when he was in The Spirit on The Lord's Day but from what I remember, there were flashes of it. If this show is the closest they ever get to The Bible then don't be surprised when God asks why a religious TV show was more important than His Word. Even the guy producing this show encourages people to read The Bible. Everything I post I have scripture for so I'm without excuse, I'm not really surprised because social media is full of people that literally cuss me out because I dare to preach Christ is the only way to Heaven, I say if you actually read God's Word you will find out mankind is lost and on their way to Hell which is why the death, burial, and resurrection are so important because Christ is God and He's the only way to Heaven and 51 years ago I needed a Saviour and praise God He saved my worthless soul and made me a child of The King. Hell is real and The lake of fire is forever and to quote Jonathan Roumie 'don't miss it.'

The reason the disciples didn't realize Judas was to betray Christ, because if Judas was exposed at The Last Supper the other 11 would have killed or beat him real ugly, Judas' job was to help Christ get to Calvary because without the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, there would be The Chosen and we'd all still be in our sins lost and on our way to Hell.
I agree and the fact that Judas was the money keeper no one suspected him. Judas had a lot going on in his mind. Jesus told him to hurry and leave I think so that Judas wouldn't change his mind. Since he was the keeper of the money the others most likely thought he was going out to purchase something and didn't give it a second thought. Just my thoughts. Have a blessed day
Unfortunately Judas helped get Christ to the cross even though he wasn't saved and is in Hell as I post this, he had chance after chance to get saved but figured like most lost souls could get saved eventually, but it was the prestige of being a disciple, and not Jesus he really loved. That's why John 7:6, II Corinthians 6:2, and II Peter 3:9(KJV 1611) are in the Bible to remind us that today is the acceptable day of salvation, eternity happens every moment, and that God is not willing that anyone should enter eternity outside of Christ but ALL should come to repentance and salvation. There are a lot of lost souls like Judas that will be cast into the lake of fire in that horrific place of eternal burning torment all because they rejected Jesus' way to salvation because they believed a lying devil over Almighty God in thinking they have all the time in the world.
@@b.l.pierce Judas is not in hell; he believed in Jesus, but strayed, and hanged himself before Jesus' death; therefore, he was in Sheoul, where all souls waited until Jesus came to redeem them; during the days before His resurrection, Jesus redeemd those in Sheoul who believed in Him. @@theresak4343 Judas never accepted Christ as Saviour which is why Satan entered into him, had Judas gotten saved he wouldn't be in Hell but he chose not to get saved and according to John 14:6, Ephesians 2:8-10(KJV 1611)Jesus is the only way to Heaven, besides Acts 1:15-20(KJV 1611) Peter confirmed that Judas not only died in his sins, but in verse 25 Judas wento his own place in Hell. Didn't you read in Mark 14:21(KJV 1611) where Jesus said woe unto the one who betrays him and one of the meanings of the word woe meaning certain doom. Please read the Bible more carefully before coming to the conclusion only bad people go to Hell because scripturally that's wrong.

In the Bible, the Ministry was supported by donations. It's how Jesus shows how to run a ministry in that He used the donations to take care of the ministry and the Disciples families, as He took the main breadwinners unto Himself. Some say Judas acted out of greed while others thought he was trying to force Jesus's hand and rise up to become the type of savior people thought he should be. I tend to go with the second since we all have the tendency to try to force God's hand and dictate the way something should go.
I agree. Judas did love Jesus. He wanted everyone to see, believe and love Jesus as well. That couldn’t, in Judas mind, not happen without money. Yes, he was a thief but he was torn between that and his love. He was the traitor that was needed so that Jesus could fulfill His purpose but he didn’t think that Jesus would be put to death. He just wanted notoriety so that Jesus would become another David. He didn’t want Jesus to suffer and die. He tried to stop what he misunderstood and mistakenly started. The Old Testament had to be fulfilled and Judas was the unfortunate victim of that act.
@@cathiefarr9698 So what I'm hearing here is Judas was a pawn for God's purpose. If so this would make God unjust. God deals with us according to His foreknowledge (Jeremiah 18:1-11). He is also longsuffering with us, not willing that any should perish but repent (2 Peter 3:9) Judas looked like one of the sheep but was really a wolf in sheep's clothing. In John 12:4-6 we see Judas' heart. -He "did not (really) care about the poor, but because he was a thief." Jesus was so longsuffering with Judas' selfish, thieving heart. He even washed Judas' feet at the last supper. Judas could have chosen to repent but never did. (2 Tim 2:20-21) (Jeremiah 18:1-11)

Regarding Judas's role in The Chosen. It's fascinating how his character, often viewed through a lens of betrayal, is actually pivotal in the grand narrative of salvation. By facilitating Jesus' arrest, Judas unwittingly became a crucial player in God's divine plan. This complexity adds depth to the story and sparks a profound discussion about destiny, free will, and the nature of good and evil. In a way, Judas embodies the idea that every character, no matter how seemingly villainous, plays a vital role in the larger tapestry of faith and redemption. The writers of The Chosen have done an incredible job of exploring these nuances, making us question our perceptions and inviting us to consider the multifaceted nature of each apostle's journey. I’m excited to see how they delve deeper into Judas's character in Season 5!
I think he’s the ultimate example of “lean not on your own understanding.” I think he loved Jesus very much and wanted to expedite the process for Him, and didn’t think/expect events to go as they did. I don’t think he thought he was betraying him (at least in the show), I think he was trying to take matters into his own hands because he was impatient and just wanted the world to know His Glory, not realizing that true faith and love for Christ is trusting in Him and His timing.
Judas's betrayal was similar to that of the others who abandoned Him (I know that's very easy for me to say in light of Easter!). The saddest part is he didn't understand he would have been forgiven 💔
I hadn’t considered the lack of Yoshi B being in the show. The role of Philip isn’t hurt by the change. Just like the roll of Big James isn’t hindered. These roles are bigger than the actors portraying them. This isn’t Romeo and Juliet. These characters are real history. Biblical truth of them. I am actually happy the relationship Thomas had is over because it was not known what caused him to be such a doubter. I like seeing a plausible why he doubted though.

Jesus called Judas friend in the garden; so when Jesus went to preach the gospel to those who died prior to his crucifixion, Judas was there with the rest of those who died before being washed in the blood. Because Jesus forgave him, Judas went up.
@@dianethomas6688 After learning that Jesus was sentenced to death and getting his reward, Judas felt guilty and wanted to give it back. The soldiers refused so he abandoned it and killed himself.
I think Judas expected Jesus to be the Messiah to save the Jews from the Romans. He just tried to speed it up. He did not expect that Jesus would NOT fight back, that He didn't call for all the Angels to fight for Him. Judas was terribly disappointed that he was wrong, that's why he hanged himself. I feel sorry for him, I don't think he was evil. 😢😢
I think exactly the same ! The Messiah should free the Jews... and we see in season 4 that he's so impatient about the Jesus mission. But the issue wasnt he was expecting, he was ashamed to not have understood Jesus words and made to kill him. But we can say his faith was huge : he really thought Jesus is the Messiah and so he couldnt die.
For the Bible to say that Jesus said he picked his disciples yet one of them was a devil Jesus own words that’s pretty graphic for somebody to be called the devil and I take Jesus’s words over somebody making a comment on this line. He probably was as evil as the word devil would dictate about somebody’s character, and I’m basing all of that on Jesus’s own words about Judas

P R A Y ! > > > for God's direction in future filming!!! But most of all...for the Holy Spirit to use The Chosen to draw many to Jesus Christ as their Redeemer and Savior!!! In HIS Name...AMEN!!!
I believe nothing is by accident, and His will is already being done through the Chosen. Sometimes we need only get out of His way, and witness to what he has done. It's hard for me Sometimes. I also pray that Dallas and everyone involved with the show receive any help they may need to accomplish this amazing goal.
The Chosen makes a good presentation of the Son of God and the Son of Man. As a Pastor I talk it up all the time. It's not preachy or conservative theological heavy. It lets the Gospels speak for themselves and the Holy Spirit do what He does convince and convict of sin. You make the disciples real people in all their humanity. Judas is really a sympathetic character. I have heard many a sermon bashing Judas but the Lord loved him and didn't want to lose him....but that's what God does leaves it up to us to carry out the Word with His power but it's an act of the will. Judas I believed could have made the right choice like Peter.
Hard to think Judas actually did a 180 on his thinking. I think there was something in Judas that went beyond the simple “doubting” phase. He simply could not accept that he wasn’t going to see Rome fall. He wanted the militant rule, not the real love that Jesus preached.
True. In the show, he’s so focused on expediency and efficiency that it seems like he probably wanted to take matters into his own hands and force Jesus’ hand in overthrowing Rome. I think he thought that Jesus would perform some huge miracle or public display of power that would unmistakably show him to be the Son of God in a way that even the Romans couldn’t deny, and didn’t expect Jesus to submit to the Romans and his fate. However, Jesus (well, God) DID perform the monumental miracle of all miracles, though it was after his death. I think Judas “believed” in Jesus so much that he thought Jesus would perform a miracle to get out of being persecuted. Hey, actually, maybe there was some sort of misunderstood prophecy/vision from God situation where Judas knows beforehand that his action will directly lead to Jesus being exalted before the world and proclaimed as King, but he doesn’t know that it would come about through his death and resurrection. Maybe he doesn’t think he’s betraying him at all, but rather, that he’s fulfilling a prophecy he didn’t fully understand.
Can't wait for season 5. Watching and following from south Africa. Judas will be with the other 11 Apostles when the lord returns to judge the nations. Judas will judge those who committed suicide because he went through the experience. Just my personal thoughts
I think the fact that he showed remorse for his actions says it too. Read Mark 14: 21 but he served his purpose. We all have been Judas in our own sins
Judas died in his sins, he is in Hell. Judas never received Christ though he was a disciple, Jesus pointed out Judas was demon possessed and Satan cannot possess born again believers.
@@b.l.pierce Nobody was born again before the crucifixion, they were all believers; Judas was a believer who betrayed Jesus; Jesus called Judas friend in the garden, meaning He had forgiven Judas; all who died before being washed in the blood were saved by Jesus those three days after He was crucified; Judas was among them. How could those souls who died before the crucifixion, the just and the unjust, get to heaven if they weren't born again? (1 Peter 3:18).
@b.l.pierce so a demon possessed him and made him do this, and for that, Judas deserves to burn in agony forever. There's no hate like Christian love lol 😂😂😂 Also, you can't use the free will thing because if he was demon possessed, and if Jesus knew the whole time, then every interaction from Jesus influenced Judas' path as well as the demon. Get out of that one!
I love shmuel. He was very torn and is not portrayed as worldly or someone opposing Jesus out of jealousy. He is not a cardboard villain. He thinks he is defending God, but he ends up (unknowingly) opposing Him. I love that he is shown to be very real and relatable. And Holy Cow is Eric Avery back??? I sure hope so! I hope that isn’t just old footage.
I think that Judas was not a lover of truth. I believe that Judas, like many in Israel, were looking for a conquering king who would free them from Rome. I believe that he believed that he could force Jesus into action as that conqueror if He were arrested. I believe it came as a complete shock to Judas that Jesus would allow himself to be killed. Judas, while professing faith in Jesus, was more intereste4d in his idea of what Messiah than he was in Messiah Himself. In much the same way when we are more interested in what Jesus can do for us, than we are in who He is, then we also, set ourselves up for a fall.
Nowhere in the gospel accounts does it say that Judas "repented." He was remorseful ... but did not repent. As to the thirty pieces of silver that was the price of a slave that had been gored to death. Another interesting thing about the silver that I see is that Judas was paid with temple money but the chief priests couldn't take it back in the temple because it was the "price of blood." And then there's the oil .. Jesus rebuked Judas for thinking it should be sold and the money given to the poor. John flat out calls Judas a thief in his gospel. I heard this saying a long time ago and it stuck with me, "Judas knew the cost of everything but the value of nothing."
Judas was a believer but has some doubt. The point of Judas is to show how just a little doubt in your heart is enough for the Prince of Darkness to gain purchase on your soul. Jesus will have seen the Devil had entered Judas and could have expelled him but he needed to let it happen for the greater good. I always wonder if Judas was pardoned after he died because he was used to fulfill the prophesy

The movie may still be on Pure Flix/Great American Channel or on DVD, but it's iut there.

So true 🙏
@@b.l.pierce Judas is not in hell; he believed in Jesus, but strayed, and hanged himself before Jesus' death; therefore, he was in Sheoul, where all souls waited until Jesus came to redeem them; during the days before His resurrection, Jesus redeemd those in Sheoul who believed in Him. Judas committed no crime against Jesus, he betrayed him; Peter also betrayed Jesus, but when Peter died, he went directly to heaven, as do all believers after they're washed in the blood.
In the Bible, the Ministry was supported by donations.

This show is soooo beautiful. Usually I don't watch show. But Iam a big fan of this one.
Absolutely the best series ever. I could watch it a million times. Judas was not a true believer and had a selfish heart.
They are called work trusters....

He betrayed jesus for some cash
For the Bible to say that Jesus said he picked his disciples yet one of them was a devil Jesus own words that’s pretty graphic for somebody to be called the devil and I take Jesus’s words over somebody making a comment on this line. He probably was as evil as the word devil would dictate about somebody’s character, and I’m basing all of that on Jesus’s own words about Judas

A GOD SHOW TO BE BLESSED OVER & OVER
I think Judas without knowing was part of what need it to be done for the mission to be completed..
I wouldn't be surprised if we see him in paradise
I like the part , if we see him in paradise.
@b.l.pierce so a demon possessed him and made him do this, and for that, Judas deserves to burn in agony forever. There's no hate like Christian love lol 😂😂😂
Also, you can't use the free will thing because if he was demon possessed, and if Jesus knew the whole time, then every interaction from Jesus influenced Judas' path as well as the demon. Get out of that one!

I hope that isn’t just old footage.
What a beautiful series
Best show ever
I think that Judas was not a lover of truth. I believe that Judas, like many in Israel, were looking for a conquering king who would free them from Rome. I believe that he believed that he could force Jesus into action as that conqueror if He were arrested. I believe it came as a complete shock to Judas that Jesus would allow himself to be killed. Judas, while professing faith in Jesus, was more intereste4d in his idea of what Messiah than he was in Messiah Himself. In much the same way when we are more interested in what Jesus can do for us, than we are in who He is, then we also, set ourselves up for a fall.
Biblically, Judas betrayed Jesus for silver only.
@@theresak4343 why do you believe this?
@@drummermomcjs The bible tells me so
Nowhere in the gospel accounts does it say that Judas "repented." He was remorseful ... but did not repent.

I can't wait.
Goated series. May not be perfect but its still very amazing.
I cried watching the passion of the Christ…. I am going to cry so hard when Jesus will be crucified in the show… I binge watched all the seasons over and over again. It has sparked my faith like no other and brought me closer to Jesus ❤
I love The Chosen
Ive cried every season
Love this show!
Anyone who has faced regret in their life which is most of us, me certainly has at one time in his life felt sorrow for Judas after realizing the extent of his actions.
