Everyone knows that cables on Ali are counterfeits! But when we see the audio result which is superior to many original and much more expensive cables, and especially when we see the price of high-end AQ cables, I thank the Chinese!
What does that Say of People like me that only has purchased audioquest cables. I own over 45K in Audio quest cables including my 20K K2 8 feet speaker cables. Not trying a smaller company in the USA called Maze Audio, they have real Silver cables, copper silver plated and all copper, for a fraction of the money, many made for people like me that need specific cables, , their power cables are amazing, will be trying their XLR cables next week, then they beautifully made speaker cables and will compare to my K2's. Great video.
I bought this cable 2 weeks ago and replaced it with my QED Reference XLR. I don't know if the cable is really made of silver. But the cable is excellently made and has top Quality outside. It has more bass pressure and more transparency than the QED. Can the Thunderbird XLR really be better than this one? I don`t know...
I will compare them, I got recently (last sale) all three top tier ICs: Thunderbird (RCA), Firebird (RCA) and Dragon (RCA, as I already have XLR version)
Thanks for showing everyone how challenging it is to spot a fake -- though easy when one investigates closely enough. The easiest detail to prove fake or not is as noted, silver-plated conductors vs. pure silver. Also noted, the plug and the plating can look real on the surface even if not real. If the innermost insulation is AirTubes, they are unlikely to be FEP, etc. -- but given the obnoxious tweeter-in-one's-face sound of silver-plated conductors used for full-range audio, an awful lot has to be done right for the sound to be tolerable. Condolences on the lost money.
Honored to have you here, in my small obscure channel :) More seriously, thank you for all the great cables that are making my system sing (being an electronic engineer makes me appreciate that even more). Yes, it is very hard to spot a fake, I hope that my videos will help someone. I consider my money not lost, more like a cost of knowledge gained. What amazes me is that someone, somewhere has the industrial potential to produce that kind of fake, down to small lettering bass>>>>treble on the internal Rocket 88 insulation, yet they do not start their own brand and instead decide to go with the fakes. IMHO the income from the fakes wont cover the cost of setting up the production line - why would anyone sane do that?
I'm an avid Audiogon reader (lurker :)) but I don't have account there. I wouldn't like to create account just to give one post, I would feel bad about it as it would look as advertising. However, feel free to link this vid there. Spoiler alert: I've almost finished big comparison of fake/real XLR, power and speaker cables. Stay tuned! :)
@@k4syx Well, I see more than one video that might be very interesting to crowd over there. Beside that, there are lost of other subjects (as you already know) that you may participate in. So, even if you are not looking for exposure, why not? As for the cables, I guess I would not buy any (original or not) without prior listening. They are all very system and taste dependent. Again, appreciate the effort, the cost and the time for making such videos
@@grandekevin4065 I might create account just to post all reviews when they'll be ready, as I was curious reader of the longest Ali cables thread there (I got Odins and Valhalla based on recommendations there). And yes you're right, it always depends on synergy. That's why I've tried to compare the cables to each other and to some well known references - this way, if you'll find something that you're familiar with, you should be able to compare your opinion with my description and try to extrapolate. But yes, this is as individual as hearing and as always YMMV :)
@@k4syx I believe I posted there as well (under different nick than here) but to be honest I find it strange that people are lured to buy Chinese Nordost. I had original Valhalla's in my than current system and had chance to audition Odin's as well, for prolonged time. (Ic's and power cables, never tried their speaker wires) In best case scenario, one should be very careful with Nordost (imho) as they tend to have very distinct sound of its own, which becomes more prominent as you put more of them into system. Except for Burmester gear I am not aware of any other brand ( I am sure that there are more, but in my limited experience) that can work in synergy with few Nordost cables. Odin's are perhaps exception of that rule, as they have less of 'character' but even with their prices in sh, one must think of diminishing returns before invests in those cables (instead of gear). I have not had any Ali 'Nordost' gear, but somehow doubt that they are close to the 'real thing'. If you have compared them to originals I'd be very curios to find out about results (as many other, I believe). In that context, I believe that there are many other original brands and cables that are representing better value (at least from resale position) Again, nice topic for already existing topic on A. forum
As soon as I read this, I knew that anything you thought you knew, was garbage. The fact you used the word rubbish, instead of the word garbage, told me all I needed to know. Have a good day.😊

wow a cable more fake than a cable with false claims who'd have thought
Hello. It will be intresting to compare the sound of this Ali fake with the original XLR Audioquest. Hope you make it soon.
Actually Ive spent a few days doing comparison of xlr, power and speaker cables. I have my notes, now I just need to find time to do the videos

Condolences to the middle class audio fools who pay full price for these serious rip off "real" cables
Great effort, thank you. You could perhaps post your video and findings on Audiogon forum, section cables, and get more exposure.

As soon as you said you burnt in the cable I new the rest of what you were going to say would be rubbish.
Yes, surely. Have a nice day!
