Please someone help will I buy the AT-LP140XP or save up some and purchase the technics mk7 ? I have the LP-120 and looking an upgrade, love my vinyl....keep spinning brothers ✌️
I think the price will hinder people from buying them. Besides technics built such a good turntable with the original 1200 that there really is no need to upgrade to the new model. At least other manufacturers are forward thinking and offering new features. But with that being said I'm keeping my M3D'S because they still work amazingly even after 15 years without any servicing.
Not to mention the reloop mk7000 i wanna say the one under the 8000 is just as dope as the technic mk2 or even the new technic and almost half price technic abound have stepped there game up
Man I feel the same way I'm Happy turntablism is alive & thriving!!! Technic's gotta get back on board with innovating & cornering the market if they wanna charge a arm & a leg... I still have my Chromed out MKII's, so I was hoping for a serious update to take Reloop down a notch.. 👑✨👑
Is the new MK7 an improvement or a cost-saver disguised as an improvement? I certainly believe the blacked out look is just that as well. The elephant in the room is where is it made? The MK7 lighter and cheaper made than the MK2. Is the MK7 made in Japan like the MK2?
mk5 is dar superior. Still all analog and upgraded ofc copper internal wiring resulting in better sound quality. And pitch reset button. No locking pitch. Recessed power button. All together newer and nicer. So many upgrades. No brainer.
Unfortuantly the base is not as heavy and solid as the mk2-6...which means..less heavy bass...for a little more the GR still has the bmc base..its a better deal..but still has a ground lead?..am i bovvered?? nup..its better that way.
One good thing about the new Technics...record player, it gives other deck and dj hardware manufacturers the confidence to invest in the scene...I'm still trying to kill my 1210 mk2, we've been in a love/hate relationship for almost 30 years...we don't need your new, slightly more plastic looking over-priced new stuff...we're not done thrashing the living daylights out of your high end hi-fi gear from the 80's yet...Technics ahhh...bless 'em.
I love Technics but don't but into the hype just like with Rane & Pioneer...I always wanted a Technics turntable when I was you, but did not had the money. Years later I bought my first table (only 1x) for 1210 MK2 for 450 USD and shortly after 2x 1210 MK2s for 1200 USD all NM and from around 2004 production line. I do not see the point to spend 1200 USD per deck when you can buy a good one second hand and or buy another brand for lesser.
If Panasonic/Technics were to do their research, they would find out that Denon's VL-12 turntable that is selling for $899 is real not making a splash in the turntable industry. No one is buying them at all. Why would anyone spend $1000-$1200 on a new Technics MK7 turntable when you can get the same type/style of turntable with the Reloop RP-7000MK2? Reloop RP-7000MK2's are $499 each and they look identical. Even Reloop's new RP-8000MK2 is priced at $699, and it has all the bells and whistles. Price point for this Technics MK7 should be $799-$899 tops. I know your paying for the name, but shit, no one has got that much money to drop on turntables unless you got it like that. If you really want Technics, my suggestion is to buy a used pair and get them repaired/tuned up.
@Storm I agree with you, except that the MK7 is not worth it, the only new one that is worth the money right now is the GR because it is made in Japan. So either you get the GR or the older models, if you want an investment. Reloop, Pioneer PLX and the others do not exist in the club scene, they cannot be rented and will NEVER hold their value. All my friends that fell into the Reloop or Pioneer TRAP, lost money and regretted it, now they can't sell their Reloops for half the price in order to buy the Japanese made Technics they should have bought in the first place ! We all make mistakes, but GUYS, don't throw your money on Reloops, Pioneer PLX , Denons and all these TOYS, pay ONCE for a made in Japan Technics and when you will be old and need money for drugs, you can be assured that you will be able to sell your Technics for good money ;) .
