On its own, Shadow is somewhat lacking due to less combat gameplay and combat being too easy bc Lara is overpowered. However when judged as a trilogy, Shadow makes a lot of sense showing the progression of Lara into a killing machine. When there is combat, it feels sophisticated, emotionally cinematic and fun to play albeit easy. Overall a very suitable wrap up to the trilogy. The whole trilogy is 10/10.
erhe etrherh that’s not true lmaooo I see men supporting other strange men all the time on social media. Coincidentally, it’s usually to try and prove a woman wrong, or negate/ downplay her opinion
The part of this review that excites me the most is at 5:22. This scene feels different I know it’s simple But I want more stuff like that. Really embraces the jungle setting and makes it feel different from Uncharted.....
One of the things that I kept on saying for my playtest of this game in a very early stage of development when they only had the first 3 hours made is to keep the difficulty. No more "rambo" Laura, hard puzzles, minimal hand holding etc. Im happy that it turned out to be a challenging game, makes me happy. Bring back difficulty in games!
I'm disappointed to hear there's less fighting. Always seemed to me that the the 2013 reboot has had the best balance between adventure and fighting. Also I miss the simplicity of how weapons & skills were upgraded in the 2013 version as in RotTR I'd end up lost trying to pick which upgrade to use next.
Thank you CD+Eidos and most of Sony's triple A games for NOT including MP Online trophies! I hope AC: Odyssey will do the same like what they did with Origins.
Just finished this game ❤️ Makes me sad to wrap up the Tomb Raider series. I truly hope Square Enix considers making another game in the near future. Also, a score of 9 is perfectly reasonable. While this game was fun, challenging, and well acted, I don’t think it had quite the emotional touch as Born or Rise
The only real issue I have with these games is that it might as well be a on rails shooter. Everything is way too laid out and easy to follow, but then again, so are most games nowadays.
I would have liked a few more action sequences, but other than that this game, like Rise of the Tomb Raider before it, is a masterpiece. A strong story, a well developed and fleshed out lead character, and challenging puzzles makes for an extremely fun adventure.
The reviewer mentioned that in the combat sections that the baddies naturally break off from each other and are easily picked off. I did not find this to be the case. The enemies appearing as red if someone else can see them and yellow if not proved to be a frustrating mechanic that annoyed me so much that it tainted the positives in the game. Here is an example. You see a guy by himself and think you've got your stealth kill, then you go into explorer mode and find he's marked red. Then you check the character animations and can see no one is looking at him. If you take the kill anyways you suddenly get rushed by the guys not looking at him plus three more guys from the next stage of the map show up too. As the reviewer said, they can take you out in a few shots. So you find yourself constantly checking explorer mode and getting kicked out of it once you start to move. I prefer playing stealth-based characters in games but this mechanic just frustrated and annoyed me to a point that I could not wait to finish this game and move on to something else.
@@wodahs4200 yeah dude i mean, it is worse than previous 2,they were fine, but how could they mess up the third one so bad, they improved the graphics and that is just it.I am so disappointed with this game.
It's almost a week, i always played spiderman 5 hours a day and haven't completed yet. The map is really huge, offers a lot, a really lot of side mission that makes me kinda addicted and yeah, it's longer than 15 hours. So much longer.
I’m 30% into this and to be honest I’m finding it pretty boring.. Not had hardly any action in it so far. It’s all climbing or swimming and doing dull boring small puzzles. If you really enjoyed Rise of the tomb raider I’d say rent this or borrow from a friend before you buy.
This was such a great game ❤️ just finished it tonight. As someone who’s first game I ever play was tomb raider on ps1 this game was reminiscent of the past Lara and just made Lara feel more human and the game was genuinely fun, scary and interesting. some of the puzzle confused me finally 🙌🏻 my only critique is it was very similar in some parts to the past two games that kind of annoyed me. Hopefully the next one veers away from a undead army of warriors protecting a ancient artefact and maybe instead dinosaurs.
I prefer the Tomb Raider Trilogy series the graphics wasn't great but Lara still had her sexiness and thats kinda missing in these recent games no catchy lines and cheeky humour.
I actually missed this game because it came out like the same time as marvel’s Spider-Man and there was no way I was gonna miss that. Looking forward to playing this on PS+ though
Kids commenting why it got a 9 as compared to Spider-Man's 8.9. Don't compare that bright kiddy game to this excellent art of storytelling. The previous lara croft games were masterpieces too and it has nothing to do with having a female protagonist. Uncharted lost legacy also had girls but I don't see it getting a 9. This game is going to be phenomenal and a legendary ending to the Trilogy
Among the new games, I loved the 2013 version the most. They wrapped the series up but there are plenty of loopholes. Still nothing compares to tombraider 2 and legend.
Let's see Spiderman got 8.7, I understand why and agree. This Tomb Raider gets a 9, I feel 8.7 to 8.5. The 9 doesn't match with the critical statements made of this game by the reviewer.
They always did gameplay better, or rather more than Uncharted but this time is probably the first time they actually rival Uncharted at what they do best, cinematics and action scenes.
I finished 2 and 3, now I'll finish 1. The only thing I didn't like so much about this game is that I felt they could have done more with the stealth combat. There's too little of it and it's amazing. I also wanted more hunting/animal combat. Fighting snakes or crocodiles would have been awesome.
The Tombs and Crypts are challenging, but the rewards are crap. The characterization for Lara feels better than in Rise, but that's probably because she's focusing on that Box macguffin instead of her daddy issues. Also, Jonah gets a love interest and damnit, he TOTALLY deserves it after dealing with Lara's adventures.

Why does it matter that the reviewer is a woman though? Lol does anybody use that logic when a man reviews a game with a male protagonist?
Actually yes.
That's because men rarely support a person simply because he owns the same genitalia as he does, women on the other hand do that a lot.
erhe etrherh that’s not true lmaooo I see men supporting other strange men all the time on social media. Coincidentally, it’s usually to try and prove a woman wrong, or negate/ downplay her opinion
This reviewer gave Uncharted 4 campaign 8.8
im a man and i personally dont care if its a man/woman reviewing, i only care if the review is honest, and it is.
I agree with this review, (IMO) it excels at everything but the story .
The part of this review that excites me the most is at 5:22. This scene feels different
I know it’s simple
But I want more stuff like that. Really embraces the jungle setting and makes it feel different from Uncharted.....
hmm very weird, the model in this game looks very plastic.
Thought she ran funny too. Like trying to make a mannequin run like a "girl".
Webbie It's not as realistic but it's still easier on the eyes. She looks great imo.
Check out new game immortal unchained in my channel
Check new game just like dark souls called immortal unchained in my channel
Yea graphics are bad
One of the best games and trilogy of all time. Inspired me to study archeology
Is studying archeology cool? I may start too
Try uncharted. It's much better
@@dominicpozzani7226 its not lol
One of the things that I kept on saying for my playtest of this game in a very early stage of development when they only had the first 3 hours made is to keep the difficulty. No more "rambo" Laura, hard puzzles, minimal hand holding etc. Im happy that it turned out to be a challenging game, makes me happy. Bring back difficulty in games!
I've played every tomb raider ever made, this is my favourite
wtfff
Free on Epic Games right now
I remember playing tomb raider on ps1 there more puzzles than fighting that’s what made the game so popular. Back to basics
She looks weird compared to the previous Lara.
Barghest Gaming its the same character model as rise the game director confirmed it
She's a little off but wtf happened to Jonah? #NotmyJonah
She sounds more american than British too. I hate that
cgreene626 they made him look more Polynesian like he was meant to be
Ricky Spanish she sounds very American, noticed that in the trailer. Don’t know who’s idea that was
I've been a fan of tomb raider since the 2000's and its one of my most favorite franchises :D
Thumbs up if you're sick of all the PS plus comments.
Those are some stupidly amazing graphics. What a time to be alive!!
Youre joking right? The in game grapchis look so bad, i swear the old ones had better graphics.
@@blueboxgamestudios5349 You're blind bro
Even on max old graphics had that... "sharpened" effect.
I’m buying it
Nothing beats gameplay of tomb raider 2013
I’ll get it when it’s half off like the last one
Rachel Amber haha! Same here.
Same bought mine for $17
Bought Rise for $12.
Mike Rotch LiS 2? If you mean Last of us that’s a while away but yes RDR 2, Smash Bros, and Fallout have my wallet reserved
I’m pretty sure you were able to talk to the NPCs in Rise of The Tomb Raider
This is all I want from a tomb raider game ❤️
Damn! I watched this after watching gamespot's video. It's like two different games were reviewed. O.o
Do you even meme
It's an emoji
I'm disappointed to hear there's less fighting. Always seemed to me that the the 2013 reboot has had the best balance between adventure and fighting. Also I miss the simplicity of how weapons & skills were upgraded in the 2013 version as in RotTR I'd end up lost trying to pick which upgrade to use next.
No it was a dumbed down game with little to no puzzles
Thank you CD+Eidos and most of Sony's triple A games for NOT including MP Online trophies! I hope AC: Odyssey will do the same like what they did with Origins.
Gonna get this for sure.
Same here i can't wait.
PC, Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, Shadow of the Tomb Raider look amazing!! 😍
You can talk and interact to the mpc's in Rise too and even do quests and missions for them.
I really hate puzzles in my video games😢
I like games with stages and a list of objectives like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on the N64.
I just finished the game and came to check the rating ign gave.What?9.0? jeez, did you guys play the same game i did?couse i would give this 7.5 tops
Madao I gave it a 4. Worst tomb raider out of the reboot in my opinion. I really really didn’t like it very much.
@@wodahs4200 yeah dude i mean, it is worse than previous 2,they were fine, but how could they mess up the third one so bad, they improved the graphics and that is just it.I am so disappointed with this game.
25 hours is significantly more than the 15 hours Spiderman offers, but I'm gonna pick up both games when they go on sale this holiday.
Spider-Man is more than 15 hours. Maybe if you never die and just go directly from point A to point B it's 15.
NY Gamer lol tomb raider doesn’t even compare to spider man
It’s not 15 hours, insomniac themselves said it is at least 20 hours long with just the main story
It's almost a week, i always played spiderman 5 hours a day and haven't completed yet. The map is really huge, offers a lot, a really lot of side mission that makes me kinda addicted and yeah, it's longer than 15 hours. So much longer.
Never transport Lara Croft anywhere.
So you're here after getting the game for free eh? Me too lmao
Fool
Kids commenting why it got a 9 as compared to Spider-Man's 8.9. Don't compare that bright kiddy game to this excellent art of storytelling. The previous lara croft games were masterpieces too and it has nothing to do with having a female protagonist. Uncharted lost legacy also had girls but I don't see it getting a 9. This game is going to be phenomenal and a legendary ending to the Trilogy
NAMAN KHULBE you claim ROTTR as masterpiece? You must have very low standard. The story is mediocre at best. Most reviewer gave it around 7/10. LOL
Exactly
Spiderman got an 8.7 not a 8.9 get your facts right before commenting bud
dude spiderman has WAY better story
Among the new games, I loved the 2013 version the most. They wrapped the series up but there are plenty of loopholes.
Still nothing compares to tombraider 2 and legend.
Let's see Spiderman got 8.7, I understand why and agree. This Tomb Raider gets a 9, I feel 8.7 to 8.5. The 9 doesn't match with the critical statements made of this game by the reviewer.
The game has an 83 on Metacritic, it's a great score.
3:15 this isn't new. It was in Rise of the tomb raider too.
IGN is the best site to get walkthroughs for any game ! Thanks very much !
One of the best games I've played in my life.
Better than Uncharted
*runs away*
So much x)
"runs away" 😂
They always did gameplay better, or rather more than Uncharted but this time is probably the first time they actually rival Uncharted at what they do best, cinematics and action scenes.
Ha you dead AF.
Uncharted 4 lyfe!
I finished 2 and 3, now I'll finish 1. The only thing I didn't like so much about this game is that I felt they could have done more with the stealth combat. There's too little of it and it's amazing. I also wanted more hunting/animal combat. Fighting snakes or crocodiles would have been awesome.
Why did they change her face ?
Pretty fun games. I just wish they made Indiana Jones game.
I’’m addicted to this video game allll versions and stories everything is amazing about it
