Hey from North Carolina, Dave! I'm a RV guy too and I appreciate that you did this test. I think that this is a very impressive little heater, too. It's maximum current (amperage) draw is 400 watts. If you were to use two - one on either side of the wall - that would only be 800 watts. You couldn't run that on a battery for very long but even a 16 gauge extension cord if you can plug in somewhere would handle that fine. Of course, if one is enough, then that's even easier. The smallest microwave that you can get at dah Waw-M*tt is about 1200 watts, same for a electric kettle to boil water (my sweet thang like to make herself a cup of tea sometime). So, even if you don't calculate watts and amps, that gives you an idea that this unit draws a very small amount of power. And I really like the idea that they have a thermostat built in. I have a couple of plain heaters like the "Comfort Zone". If you come in and turn one on to warm up the room, I find I usually have to get up in the night to either turn it up or down to make it right after the temperature settles down. And with two of the Handy Heaters, you could set one for 64 and one for 67 -- then both would warm up the room and when the temp gets to 64, one would shut off and the other one would gently take the temp up to 67. And if it gets real cold outside and the room cools down, both of them can cut in again. (And why some people put wall receptacles with the ground at the top - there's thought that if you drop something metal along the wall (??? how likely is that ???), then the metal piece gets deflected by the ground pin and there's no short across the hot power. In the case that the two flat prongs are at the top, they think that a metal piece could fall across them and short with sparks, and fire, and shock hazard, etc. I see what they're worried about, but it doesn't seem likely to me. That's why you see them like that sometimes.) I appreciate the good work on your videos! Thanks, Bruce b
Thank-you for a wonderful test of this small heater. For 350-400 watts this is not bad seems to work real well. Have a nice Christmas and enjoy your family.
I wouldn't use the remote but I love this review. Need something that is low wattage that won't burn a house down. These are perfect for chilly bathrooms.
The fan on the bottom pulls air through the ceramic element. You may have turbo boosted the heater by restricting flow with the counter so close unless the counter wasn’t as close as it appeared. Ive had one of these sitting in the closet. Had no use for it but just purchased our first rv going to test it in there. Nice job on the video👍
hi dave I also have a small trailer, I also have a ceramic heater as your comfort zone, it works great , a little noisy but will keep us more than comfortable. I have switched to the oil filled heater , works ok and silent, thumbs up
Thanks Dave. I wondered if those tiny heaters would be worth having. Hope you'll do a follow up review after you've used it more. For it's size, it appears to be a work horse.
Man I really enjoy this little, heater. Not sure how it ended up at my door, but I am happy it did. Merry Christmas Patrick, Dave, Muppy, and Kiki Girl
Nice job. Like that size, and it really works well. Imagine in a freeze, it would be ok keeping the chill off with wearing a sweater, and save the pipes. Merry Christmas. 😊🎅🎄🍭
In a industrial setting OSHA makes you put the plugs in upside down so the ground is at the top. That way if something Falls onto the plug it hits the ground first before instead of the hot so it will shortout and not shock you.
Wow!!!! We just had some stormy weather and lots of trees down, no power for 4.5 days..lived in our travel trailer for duration, with a honda generator and the same little heater you have, would of rather had this Handy heater, maybe 2 of them, blowing heat at each end of the trailer. Is it loud? I like the bigger one due to it will shut off at a certain heat, but it is 1500watts!!! A big drain on our 2000watt generater...I am going to buy one of these, maybe 2...thx for a great video!!
its a little loud, not obnoxious though. But at 350 watts I was shocked at its abilities. Best advice I can give is turn it on while sun is out to heat up the RV. Its hard to gain a lot of heat with it, but can maintain pretty well

@@davesrvchannel4717 it would kill them quick, I have 2 6 volt trojan golf cart batteries 225 amp hrs, that are true deep cycle batteries, the most I could go would be 5 hrs and it would take a day and half to get batteries charged back up with good sun on my solar panels. ( to charge batteries the right way) not like most people charge batteries
Howdy Mr. Dave.. Do you still recommend this heater? I picked up a 22 foot toyota rv... Will this work to increase the heat by at least 20 degrees fahreheit? Thank you....
Campos Vazquez it works great but that size RV might be asking a lot. Worth a try. Takes up so little space. For its size it’s great. My RV is 7’6” wide x14 long
I use one in a chilly bath room. Keeps seat nice and toasty 😊
a cold toilet seat will make you get up quick

Still firm believer in it. Used it all last winter. Great product
We have one. It works pretty good for a small area.
Cool demonstration. Neat to see the little heater work. Thanks for the guinea pig work. 😁😋😉

Work well in a pinch or daily use in a small space. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Great job, Dave!
Thanks Rhondalyn!
Looks like it works good
I am digging it!
I have the same one, i just switch mine on, and leave it set to 90 it will keep the area 70s 80 no problem.

brilliant concept, thanks for solving that mystery!

Thanks for sharing love your channel
scale 1-9 You give it a "9" ???? Thank you, Tech Dave!
The only reason to deduct any point would be its slightly loud, but that is it
witch model is this I just looked it up to get me one and seen several models
on high it will use approx. 35 amps on 12 volts per hour
so 2 batteries at say 550 CCA would have no problem running this overnight

Try is in actual winter weather like -20 or -40
I live in Alabama, if it gets -20 or -40 here, I will kill myself
Did you know dave that the heat comes out the bottom, that red glow is a led light
Rick Butler LoL yes, I’m aware of that. Thanks
This week on Dave's "Country" channel, see Dave cook some ribs inside the wood stove!
Bet they would be super good too. 😊
yes, speaking past tense, they were,,lol
Great video Dave, what is the brand and model of the heater?
Dave Roe it's called Handy Heater

You should try using a kill-a-watt meter to see the true energy usage
great idea! I am waiting on it to get cold again here so I can do one more installment of the will it heat my RV series
Does the unit itself get too hot or hot around the outlet?
no not at all. Matter of fact I could touch the face of the heater after it had been on for 2 hours. The area around it was not warm at all
@@davesrvchannel4717 thanks so much! Definitely going to be investing in this
Ok
What is the name of it?

It's pretty cool?
A heater shouldn't be cool. 😁
