    I'm literally shocked that they still haven't implemented something new on an update to where I can delete it when premiere pro is open. In my opinion video editing software is over complicated when it doesn't have to be. It irks me even more that this is a normality across the board with any editing software. like why is is difficult to label things like tools and put them in the proper areas where people would think they would be. Or have an accurate working search bar that can show you where things are at and explain how to use them.

      Just installed this, accidentally created a project with all files in my user folder due to retarded project creation flow, and then I have to find out that I can't even do a simple right-click-delete-project, wtf..

    When you delete the project file, does it also delete all associated media clips, effects and graphics from you drives?

    • @createwithjosh
      @createwithjosh  2 года назад

      That's a good question, and the answer is that it does not delete any type of imported media from your drives. The project file can be considered a roadmap/blueprint that keeps track of the paths and details of all the media files when you import them into the project, and your editing tells Premiere Pro what to do with all of the media files. No media files are stored within your Premiere Pro project file which keeps it nice and small.
      I personally create a separate folder in Windows for any project I'm working on where I store all media types I use in a single video, that way I can delete it easily once the video is published and no further work on it is necessary.

      @@createwithjosh Thanks, I'm new to PP and want to be able to understand the structure of projects so I don't fill my drives up with old discarded project media. I think your suggestion is exactly right! I suspected as much when working with Photoshop to create project graphics and I needed to change them. When I returned to PP they were changed in the project already. Big clue! Thanks again!

    • @createwithjosh
      @createwithjosh  2 года назад +1

      If you still have your project file, there is a way to delete all the media files you have imported into that project. Simply select them all in the project panel and then right click and select "Make Offline", a dialogue will appear where you can choose whether to delete all associated media from your drives or to leave them on your disk. I hope this helps!

    You know how to delete export preset bin i cant to delete

    • @createwithjosh
      @createwithjosh  3 года назад

      Are you using Premiere Pro CC? If so, you should be able to delete any export preset right inside the export window. All you have to do is look for the preset you want to delete that is in the presets dropdown menu, and then to the right of that menu you should find 3 icons. One is to save, one is to import and the third one is to delete. You know what to do :)

    When you import video or jpegs, and then you delete them in the BIN, premiere says "where are these?" Well, I deleted them (permanently). But Premiere Pro does not like that. How to you ensure Premiere "doesn't look" for this file again?

    • @createwithjosh
      @createwithjosh  Год назад

      Ppro will periodically check if all files within the project are still available on your computer. If you move or delete a file then Ppro won't be able to find it and you will get a message about it.
      When you get the prompt where it's asking you to locate the file, you can choose to make the file "offline". This tells Ppro to treat this file as if the actual media is currently not available until further notice. You can then relink the media in the future or you can delete the imported file in Ppro.
      If you are often deleting media that is imported within Ppro, you can follow this guide I made to delete stuff from within Ppro, that way you won't have to deal with that missing footage dialogue again:

    What about render files?

    • @createwithjosh
      @createwithjosh  3 года назад +1

      So if you want to delete old render files manually, you can go up into the Edit menu>Preferences>Media Cache. In the Media Cache Files section just click on delete and you'll be able to choose to delete unused cache files. If you have ANY project open when you do this, the "Delete all media cache..." option will be grayed out. Happy editing

  • @JhonCunningham
    @JhonCunningham 2 года назад

    WTF!!!! And the videos u uploaded to make the edition are also deleted ?? Or we have to do it manually?

    • @createwithjosh
      @createwithjosh  2 года назад

      Actually the footage and assets are not affected in any way by deleting your project. If you wish to delete your footage from within your project on Premiere Pro, I made a video covering how to do that here: ruclips.net/video/FXGAIekHLkc/видео.html
      It is always a good idea to keep all of your project files organized in a folder so that you can easily archive or delete them when you finish your project! :)

    So I have a recovery file. Something that was created from another project due to it failing out. It says this project, like all the rest, are in the specific auto save folder where everything else is. But it's never there. Nowhere to be found, and I can't find any other way to delete it. I just want it off of my home page in premiere pro lol.
