- Headphones, flat-screen TVs, and game consoles are the obvious items that come to mind when thinking about global tech company, Sony.
Now, the industry giant is not exactly one to shy away from diverse product offerings. One quick look on their website will show you that they delve into pretty much everything, from watches to action cameras, to home cinema packages.
Despite this, nobody expected Sony to take the leap into the rapidly expanding electric vehicle market.
It looks fantastic. Especially the interior. SONY seems to be succeededing at what both Apple and Dyson failed at doing. Great job SONY!!
I would buy Sony Vision S because of their amazing sound quality.

@@iidashii4502 do some research, and try to know what you are talking about before you write a response to someone. It's well known and documented that Apple did develop and try to make an electric car. In fact the designer and head of the iPad program was tasked with doing it. It was such a failure that 1) Apple doesn't like to talk about it and 2) pretends like it never happened.......as clearly evidenced by your lack of awareness. It is called "project Titan" by Apple. And it continues to languish in development to this day.
You do understand how the development of tech products works right? Unless it can be successfully made then it generally is not shown to the public. Just because you didn't physically see it doesn't mean it didn't exist. You didn't see the Dyson car either did you? But that existed too. And like Apple's attempt it failed at the development phase. But you can be damn sure prototypes exist.
Either way Apple failed to develop it to the point of getting it into production. The Sony car WILL be going into production with Honda and will start going on sale in 2025. The Apple car is still languishing in development somewhere.

I agree. I don't need entertainment at all. It is mostly clutter and junk.
However the car looks amazing. I drive Tesla 3 and I like the simplicity of interior and control panel.

@@sterlinsilver It's also because cars will become self driving. That's a huge part of SONY's thinking here. Once cars become self driving they essentially become entertainment consumption spaces. Hence the need for great ways to listen to music, play computer games, and do work, or surf the internet. That's why SONY has essentially made a tablet pc on wheels.
It looks a bit like the 4door sedan version of the Porsche electric.

And it will be missing many features already on other cars for several years. While still charging you a premium price for it.

They won’t build it because understandably they’re not in the automotive manufacturing business (resource intensive). However they have undisputed design expertise so licensing a visionary product makes sense.
I think every competition is missing the point. People want comparable car to Tesla but more affordable. The only brand doing that seems to be Tesla themselves

kaiok1777 Tesla has the super charger network, Autopilot feature, AND the gigafactory. Let’s see if auto manufacturers can catch up to that.

Soooo Sony has been hemorrhaging money for ages. Their only viable financial stream is the PS5. They lost the portable player war to Apple. They lost the TV battle to Samsung and they lost the war on laptops to EVERYONE. Now they want to take on EV? OOooookkkayyyyy Tesla says HI.
Most of the android phones, which constitute of the majority of phones sold in the market use sony imx sensors for their cameras.
Their primary huge profit remains in consoles and games... And music comes in close second... They are the owners of many labels which grossed mountains of cash..
Not to mention the television sector because they are 50% stake holders in SYCO entertainment which makes x factor and got talent shows..
Also not to mention their production houses which reaped money through movies like venom, into the spider verse etc
Their sales in sound and other devices has also been good...
Sony is literally the world leader in camera sensors, the best autopilots systems will use Sony sensors.

Tech Vision - BULLSHIT, Sony makes good consumer Products (Laptop & HDTV), but know NOTHING about cars.
In FACT Sony doesnt build cars NOR did it build the Sony Vision-S , it was created as a ONE OFF car by MAGNA for Sony.
SONY, only provided some of the Technology and the Displays .
its an Entire Diffrent thing to build an Entire BEV from Scratch.
Was designed by Sony Design Center, and you know what? It works.

TESLA on the otherhand makes the MOST of their won Parts and Componnents.
TESLA has the FEWEST of Suppliers , that make BEV.
@@markplott4820 tesla subsidizes other companies for its autopilot system as well, like every sensor in its vehicles. They do not manufacture semiconductors, nor gpus.
