Since watching this channel I have had my best and most visible results. Just from dropping my weights a little And going really really slow … feeling that full squeeze and stretch Full ROM. Using less weight but applying this technique leaves me wobbling out the gym utterly destroyed but my god everything is popping and it’s so worth it! 😆 it might make me look a bit weird but it works!
watch his video on going slow doesn't matter. I did it too, I still go pretty slow. He said he does it just for training videos when they don't know the movement.

Get enough protein, probably eat a little more than normal in terms of calories, push yourself relatively close to failure with good technique, and get enough sleep. It's sort of all the same whether you're newer of advanced, but it'll just go way faster when you're new. If you've watched tons of Dr Mike videos you'll kill it, I'm most jacked ever at 34 as a natural
Check out the hypertrophy Playlist. He occasionally makes references to beginner and intermediates. A lot of what he says is to not focus too much on doing the things intermediates and advanced lifters to, to grow. Use the linear progress phase to find what works well for you and your joints, then apply progressive overload. As a newbie, your gains will come easier than down the road, so leverage that to be able to know your best SFR exercises and you can start to implement variation in pieces, as necessary. 95%+ of newbie gains are due to the fundamentals. The remaining 5% may or may not be even worth the extra effort at that stage. Learn what 3-0 RIR really feels like, perfect your technique on the compound lifts and then the isolations, get your nutrition locked in, and recover harder than you train. Those are the cliff notes, but still watch the playlists that are relevant to your goals.

You can't "maximise" newbie gains. It's a made up term for the explosive growth that an untrained person will have once they start training, because they will gain strength regardless of what they do and it will slow down once you're getting closer to your "final form". It's not something you want to maximise and it's not something you can miss. The only reason the term exists is because older gym members would use it to counter the overconfident younger members. Progress slows down gradually, there isn't even a definitive moment when you stop having "newbie gains".
I've gotten some mileage out of deficit SLDLs recently in my glute training. Since the hamstrings are really strong eccentrically, on the negative portion of the rep you can go really slow and get a huge stretch on the glutes. Obviously great for the hammies too 😅

I personally always do squand with lengthened partial and elevated heel. Allow me to use much less weight while giving me better feeling in quads! And i love it.
Having a trainer for leg day is torture... i gave it a shot last thursday... and they arent fully recovered yet. I screamed my eyes out the entire time, these chicks are on a whole nother level
