@pretty selected we have 11 official languages and typically a SAcan would be able to write 2 languages fluently. Zulu is not one of them for me. But He's basically talking about how an old man like himself would be missing his mamma, it's sorta like a self diss

@pretty selected Line to line translation (in context more than in word for word translation) _______
      [Intro]
      I miss Mom
Nothing's working anymore (I miss Mom)
      I can't anymore
      I miss Mom
      Nothing's working anymore
      I miss Mom
      [Chorus]
They keep saying such an old man crying for his mom
      Hawu guys you'll never understand
Such an old man crying for his mom
      Hawu guys you'll never understand
      [Verse 1]
She'll be happy when I return
      Exclaiming that Shembe is alive
With all the road accidents my child I'm happy you made it back safely
      Put your bag there emsamu
Get grandma's incense from the rondavel
So I can contact the ancestors and tell them you're back in one piece
The rain is pouring here back home, we're finished here we're corn stovers
\When you come back from eGoli please bring me a heater 'cause it's clear you'll be the one to bury me\
You know mom, you've got jokes
You'll never leave me while I still love you
It'd be a blessing to me Mom if you'd be there when I get married
      [Bridge]
'cause You'll be the one to advise me
when it's getting difficult in marriage
'cause You'll be the one who'll be able to console me
when it's getting difficult in marriage
      [Pre-Chorus]
      I can't anymore, I can't anymore, I can't anymore
      I miss Mom

      Hawu guys you'll never understand
      [Verse 2]
      What I love about home
Is that at home you don't get in with money (with money, yeah yeah)
Even if I'd be jobless Mom loves me without anything
(She loves me with nothing at all)
Even if the world would beat me up she'd console me and say my child
      Don't cry (don't cry)
You look tired let me fetch some food baba sit down (sit down)
      [Pre-Chorus]
      I can't anymore, I can't anymore, I can't anymore

    Basic breakdown of the song
He's been away working on his music career and now his homesick and missing his mother.
His friends are judging this grown ass man for crying for his mom and he's telling them they wouldn't understand.
His mom will be happy when he gets home safe with all the dangers in this world.
And he's saying he's mom will never die with all the love he has for her and he hopes she lives long enough to see him get married.
What he loves about home is that you don't need money to get in and if he didn't have a job and had nothing his mom would still love him.
And when times are tough his mom will console him and tell him not to cry and when he's tired his mom will tell him to have a seat and make him something to eat.

Where they say such an old man is crying for his momma...its a universal thing coz usually if you're a guy(adult) and you're too attached to your mom you are regarded as weak especially by your partner, usually they'd tell you to grow a pair...so what he's saying is that people don't usually understand a son-mother bond no matter the age.

    For some context:
Sjava has previously spoken about how hard he found it when he first moved to Johannesburg to try and make it. That is when he wrote this song.
This song is about how much he misses his mom and people will laugh because he is an old man saying he misses his mom. But he knows she will always be there to console him and love him, it doesn't matter whether he has a job or money, she will always love him and welcome him home.
It's very common in South Africa for young people to have to leave villages or rural areas to move to the city in search of work, they also usually send money home to support their families. Johannesburg is also a very money driven city.

For those who don't understand the song from all over the world. This is a song about a full grown man who misses his mother. He further appreciates her for what she had done for him. He also touches on his ancestry, when he got home his mother asked him to bring impepo(herb) to thank the ancestors for keeping him safe while in Joburg. This is something that a lot of Zulu /Xhosa still practice today. His mother also thanks Shembe for protecting him. Shembe he is like the prophet Muhammad of the Muslims. Sjava left home to Gauteng, Johannesburg to follow his dream but while being in the midst of hustling he misses his mother...
