He's not elite but at least above average for his position on both the eye test and advanced stats, and I would even make the argument that the advanced metrics are making him look too good like him having a top 5 defensive rating for last season.
Jokic is the MVP right now, and if the Nuggets keep going the way that they are right now then nobody deserves that award above him.
I think the MVP race is between Luka and jokic and no one else and sadly idk if Luka could be out jokic the way his team and how he’s playing is this season but nonetheless I’d love to see jokic win MVP again

I think and honestly hope that Jokić will get his 3rd MVP. He brings fundamentally sound basketball to his team and league as a savant of the sport. He truly is dominating in a way that many big fans of the game can appreciate deeply, and I think if he and the Nuggets can keep up their level of play and health, they could win the championship.

no one does as much for their team as jokic... and on top of doing the most, he is also doing it at the highest level... he literally runs the entire offense, controls the entire game, gets HIS and gets it for everyone else, and when he is not scoring or assisting he is setting multiple screens... dude is amazing and i can't remember the last guy as talented to also be as humble
i would kill to have him on my team... he is the guy (ABOVE ALL OTHERS) to build a team around... if he ever ended up with management that understood this, they would win as many championships as years he has left to play uninjured

An underrated aspect about Jokic is the fact he could duo with any star player who wasn’t a center. The way he plays wouldn’t hinder the abilities of another star player. You couldn’t have Luka with another ball dominant player for example. It’s a great thing for Jokic because regardless of his future in Denver, any star looking to join him or any star he is willing to join will definitely work out well.

Doncic has the more ridiculous numbers on a nightly basis, but Jokic is the genius leader of a winning team. A 3-peat MVP is a great storyline, and a 23 year old legend winning his first MVP is a great storyline. Personally, I think Luka is the season MVP, but I’d favor Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets to win it all this season.

Can't nobody check me and my teammates!!!! The zero dark thirty version of scary hours are coming, and it will only get even crazier come playoffs time in April!!! I may not win a championship with the Denver Nuggets, but I am making my mark just like everybody else and I'm coming for that ring!!!!!!!" Don't get me wrong, and don't get it twisted. The Nuggets definitely look like title contenders, but let's see how they do against Golden State in the playoffs, who are THE reigning defending world champions. Also, I was the only one who said a long time ago that I don't see the Denver Nuggets winning a chip. Ever since Carmelo Anthony was the face of the franchise, I said that. Don't get me wrong, I love Melo, but I'm gonna keep it a stack with y'all, as deep as the Nuggets are now, they don't have a championship pedigree within them.(Except for Jokic)

Nikola Jokic has been my favorite player in the NBA since he was drafted by the Denver Nuggets. Ya he doesn't have flashy highlights like Ja Morant or Lebron but the difference of having Jokic on the court makes him far more powerful than both of those players

Anyone arguing playoff performance needs to stop. It's a regular season award, no buts about it. Who is the most valuable player to their team in the regular season. And that's Jokic, and ignoring playoff performance as we should. The only argument against him winning a 3rd in a row comes down to "Voter fatigue" or people not wanting him to join Wilt/Russell/Bird, then that's exactly why he should win it

great video, but i personally tend to think people overrate playoff success and championships in terms of legacy. people seriously underrate guys that may have won one or no championships while hyper inflating guys that won a couple championships but were pretty mediocre in comparison. i think about guys like chuck, malone, and dr j on the former side and guys like draymond, wade, and tony parker on the latter.
but i digress, people are talking about how luka is putting up 2k numbers, and while i do love luka, his 2k numbers ain’t shit compared to the joker. that man’s efficiency and advanced stats are the craziest goddamn thing i’ve ever seen, and the fact that THIS IS SEASON 4 OF IT. my lord nikola.

Last time Denver was full healthy they loose western finals to later champions Lakers....Now they are fully healthy and have better team than last time...and they have more expirience
