    He has no wasted motion. Its like there is zero lag time between the decision and the action. Almost as if he can see 1 second into the future. His teammates are right there with him. They have great chemistry. Incredible.

      @nalvarado65 Год назад +34

      I think that's what's amazing about this team. They are so aware and alert because the ball will be at the expected spot once they make their cut. I sometimes wonder how surprised a guy is making a cut to the basket finding Jokic kicked it out to the open man outside. So much more fun to watch this than all of the flat footed stuff we were getting used to

    • @Davek-pc7uo
      @Davek-pc7uo Год назад +34

      Apparently his teammates learned to be right there with him by getting hit in the face in training. When the Joker has the ball, you have your hands ready for the pass.

    • @floncer
      @floncer Год назад +3

      @@Davek-pc7uo Not only that. People are shocked by his no look passes and everything - the reason he can do those reliably is because he knows where the guy is supposed to be standing and their respective positions for every possible play, so if he sees someone's guard coming up, he just hurls it at the place that is supposed to be occupied and if no one was there, they will learn to be there the next time. They are taught to never be out of position or they don't have a place in the rotation.

    Jokic is the textbook definition of what a “pivô” (pivot) means in Brazilian Portuguese. He turns the game on its head every time he touches the ball and you can see how every player is revolving around him in a beautiful carrousel that looks almost like a dance.
    You can also notice how his teammates are clever to take advantage of Jokic’s unique vision of the court. They’re always moving and they ALWAYS trust that the ball will end in their hands.
    I mean how many alley-oops did we just watch with Aaron Gordon and Jokic? That’s a difficult play to time right and they do it seamlessly and carefully choreographed like Russian ballet.
    This should be studied in basketball training camps.

    I have noticed that Joker has improved his offense this season. He has more low post moves and better touch around the basket. He is more difficult to be guarded one on one this year. When teams double team Joker he finds open shooters. His teammates are good at finding open spots and at cutting to the basket. Beautiful basketball.

      It's more like he can showcase his skills more this year as his supporting cast is complete. Having Porter and Murray back eases the defensive pressure off him and make him do things at his pace. He has 3 different offensive options to pass to (Gordon inside, Porter outside and Murray slashing) as well as do his usual post moves, 3 pointers and awkward but effective wrong-footed jumpers

Some of those passes are like an expert outfielder laser passing it to home plate for the out. This is great passing by Nikola Jokic.

    1:27 is one of the coolest plays I've seen in a long time. He timed a pass to the paint like hitting a receiver on a rout. I think the big difference between his game is that he focuses on getting the ball where it needs to be and using his wit and size to get his body in the best position to direct the ball. I'm curious to see how this influences the next generation of ball players.

    It is very exciting and re-energizing to watch team basketball as Joker plays it…..I think it’s why he is so loved and revered - he is the innocent team player with sniper skills. It’s very rewarding to see people working together for the better of the team - rather than one on one style players and I will name no names.

    This reminds me of 80s Showtime Lakers with Magic bounce passing through heavy traffic or Kareem taking a ball out of bounds and heaving it to Worthy the length of the court.
    If anything Jokic has taken that kind of play to a whole new level - play after play, he doesn't let up! Congrats on the first championship!

    Cant run, can't jump, can't dunk, but dominates the court like some freeking alien out of this world.

      Can’t run? Do you not see the pace they play at and it’s mostly him running the ball down the court

    2:55 was a pretty funny sequence. Seeing the crowd go from elation to hands back on heads in 3 seconds. That old lady in the background still cheering completely unaware of what happened.
