Excellent. Makes all the work worth it. Looking forward to the full score card as it will show how much progress is being made. Interventions per mile of street driving would be good too
Excellent video! So cool for us safety score noobs to see the comparison with the old 8 and 9 versions. I wouldn't call 10.1 a pass based on the manuever at 0:56.
@@FrenchieFSD I couldnt hear it on my phone but i re-watched it and yes it cracked me up 🤣Also, i had forgotten it actually succeeded more than it failed. It felt forever to get here... Well done, gathering all these versions!
Noticed interesting behavior in 10.11.2. For some reason there was a small red section (traffic stopped) of a 55mph road on the map but actual traffic was moving at 60mph. Just as car approached the red section it braked and flashed slowing for traffic. It then realized there was no stoppage and proceeded to speed up. I have never seen that before . It appears that red section on that map was an error or old data.
What I don’t understand is why the earlier versions aimed at the barriers in the first place: it’s almost as if the car is relying on gps and old map data. The whole emphasis seems to be that it’s vision based, so why would it not realise the road doesn’t correspond with the mapping? Surely the mapping is only used to plan the route, not to make tactical manoeuvres?
Some major changes have been made after 9.1, it becomes more reliant on GPS to plan further road estimation that's why it become failing. After 10.0, vision-based navigation becomes more prior to GPS navigation. I believe there was some changelog about that issue. It was caused because of that code rework.
You are 100% right. I took the wrong section of the video. In the original video, I took the turn twice. The first time, I wasn't on FSD. The second time I was and it passed. Apologize for that. I should have been more careful when editing.
@Scott Coleman Reupload has a lot of inconvenience. Basically have to delete the old video and re-upload the new one. I'd loose all the stats that I have but I did make the change and uploaded a new video just for you. You can share this new video if you prefer. It depends on which city and which construction department。We have a mine road in Taiyuan, Shanxi. The road has been rebuilt for more than two years. Some people even sued the Central Committee. So there are places that are fast and good, not all places.
I’m curious how the routing, pin dropping, and such works here, to put this into Robotaxi context. Are you able to drop a pin along that side road and have the vehicle drive you there instead of down the middle actual road? Say if you wanted the vehicle to drop you off ain’t front of a building there
We need more videos like this. Progress is the best motivator.
Super cool to see the apples-to-apples progression for one specific situation like this, thanks!
this is an AMAZING compilation, thank you! please more of that
Fantastic video documenting the progression, both forward and backward. Great job!

Outstanding.....thank you so much for this visibility of the progress. Would love to see more, but I know it is a lot of work. Thanks again.
Excellent video, love this type of content!
You make the best FSD videos. Merci Frenchie :)
dude, you are working overtime! nice!

Well done, Frenchie! Those two ?? ones were so mysterious and palmfacy lol Thank you! 👏👏
I hope the Windows error sound made you smiled :)

Nice vid, I really like seeing these, even if FSD doesn't show improvement, yet.
What did you just watch if you didn't see any improvement?

I’m not an expert but I think earlier version were using gps a lot. Now it’s changing.
Great video! I think my biggest takeaway is that we need the 2/3rds visualization view back so badly.
Yes! I like seeing the map. Especially when we are doing these videos. Never know if the car is been goofy or genuine re-routing
i believe chuck will do an episode for his unprotected left turn as soon as he got his Tesla back from the repair shop.
Good perspective- it's too easy to think progress is slowing

This video was actually amazing. Quick thing, I don't think FSD was activated for FSD 9.0 at 0:24 . Or was it?

@@FrenchieFSD Wow, thanks for putting in so much effort. Appreciate it!
well done - Thanks
very awesome video... cool..
Perfect video
lmao you gonna be upset if they ever open that street again
Haha I’ll be out of business. I won’t have money to buy baby formula on black market
@@FrenchieFSD You heard it here everybody you better subscribe!! Feed that baby!
master!
Idk why I thought this was so funny but especially when the first yellow question mark fail happened with the Windows sound I lost it 😂
amazing that a road close can be there for your test for more than a year, nothing imaginable in China.

they still have that road closed? something terribly wrong with the local municipality?

Not quite there yet. Right now it stops in the middle of the road but I expect it to be able to park itself nearby to drop you off safely
Wow, maybe beed drive 200 times, then TslaQ beleaves too 😀
