Never been more proud of this guy. From watching him and his employees working on board repairs in an asses to elbows cramped NYC building - to this. It's been a journey, and it's only the beginning. You guys will do great things.
This idea of freedom and how to protect it for everyone is a key factor in so many things. I'm glad to see the ideal of freedom expanding into the tech spaces.
Thanks to Louis I'm "enjoing the company" of a used Thinkpad (paid less than 150$): works like a champ. That said, a wonderful news. Congrats to both FUTO and Loius!
Many people when they've achieved financial freedom, they tend to just sit back and waste their gains on the dumbest sh*t, this guy however decided to use both his time and resources to change the world for the better, nothing but respect for that
Didn't know about futo till now, thank you for expanding my knowledge and the programming issues I had no idea. Looking forward to learning the issues.
Congratulations Louis and well deserved given the passion, no-nonsense perspectives and genuine desire to improve what you can reach in the world. As a tinkerer I've believed in right to repair but only got to appreciate it when I stumbled on a channel with a guy with a glass rooster who could micro-solder whilst arguing a point with a chat room.
did mention to Louis once but never got a reply!! about designing his own motherboards to fit into old macbooks a universal motherboard using universal connectors, and off-the-shelf parts so they can connect to the peripherals like keyboard screen or any screen you want. there is a Linux open source MacBook software how faithfully represented it is I don't know! but with some software tweaking to integrate with the app store etc shouldn't be difficult. it would save a lot of old macbooks and laptops ending in the rubbish, instead you can just buy a new motherboard and screen what is the major part of the upgrade. you could do vinyl custom wraps to keep it looking fresh and different.
I wrote my Governor Polis of Colorado to sign the agriculture bill as written..... wanted to CC it to you, but can not find an appropriate email address. I did not want to stuff it on your business contact form.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: reverse engineering will set you free. How about FUTO sponsoring a project to focus on reverse engineering devices and modifying/bypassing their shitty lockout? This might require some form of hardware modification to reflash the firmware.
you're not solving it without exclusive use of free(dom respecting) hardware and software. The fight is a sidestep of a bigger problem, giving a market that sees profit in these abuses of power that are hidden in a "simple trade"
Congratulations Louis. Just by you becoming part of FUTO you've made at lot of people aware of its existence.
I can vouch for that. Subbed to this channel immediately.
Great to have Louis as a member of the team

Look at all the old computers in the background, cool! 😎 Also, Louis rocks!

Old thinkpad are champs, easy to repair, less thought to keep it because nobody cares about it

Yes the true American dream
Yeah Luis is the only reason I know this channel exists. I'm all about right to repair. Time to end the current iteration of "big tech".

I never would've known about FUTO if Louis Rossmann hadn't been a part of it.

I feel like you guys should be friend with the makers of the Light Phone. Just putting that out there.

Does anyone know if this app has a paste board Like can. you can copy and paste pinned messages that you saved?
Hopefully Louis can be a good addition to the team and get a grip back from big tech
Does everybody at futo work in their undershirts?
For an NYC ex-pat, probably our cool 54F today feels like 85F. :)
Well, if we're giving The Rossmann a new closing line... How about 'And I hope you fixed something today.'
"Welcome to Your Everyday Fix" If you like it, and there's no reason you should, use it!
Luis has to get close to the mic. This mic is meant to be used up close

Wow! Quite a culture change Louis.Same shit, different shovel.
This video won't play for me for some reason. Just a spinning circle. Rest of the youtube works for me so I know my connection is good.

"I hope you learned something" works for this channel too. Don't get a new one.
One video from LRG channel instructing to subscribe here would be a subscriber boost, I would think.
