The winner was the white JZX100 at 5:53
I'm guessing he won because the run was very clean, he put his rear tyres on the white lines on both sides of the track, and he didn't use too much handbrake or fall short of the corner entry like a lot of other people did.
Naah. Way too boring run to be winner :D
How much did it take to learn Japanese?
thats what I wanted to ask you @noriyaro, if the judges were deducting points for guys using more handbrake to make it to the final corner?
Personally I feel the S13 missile/cross-car before that was slightly better considering he used the entire course, but I guess skipping and jumping the kerb on the last corner before the main straight may have killed it :P

That's the exact car I got (and still have) as my first car, so I got a massive laugh out of it when I saw it attempting to drift, that's fucking awesome that it can even sort of drift.
That almost looked like a legit rwd drift!
I think with some more power it could have been a legit competitor. I think the judges want a wide line, lots of smoke a maad angle. With completely draging back tires you get smoke and angle just needs more power to pull through.

I see them pretty often in Australia, imported of course. Back in like '99 Toyota Australia had the option of selling the JZX100 or the Avalon here... somehow the Avalon won. Probably the only thing the Toyota Avalon has won in its useless, ugly life. Now that the Commodore and Falcon are dead here, maybe we'll get some of the Japanese sedans. Of course there aren't many of those left now either.

I know the easy thing to say is "Initial D!" but remember that original Xbox game Project Gotham Racing? This type of stuff reminds me of that game: where style points (kudos in the game) matter more than actually making around the track as fast as possible. That's pretty much what's going on here: being judged purely on style or "style points."

Homeboy in the Peugeot went harder than 95% of the people I've met in the past 10 years who like to call themselves drifters.
Ive seen quite a few videos of people drifting on the road at 0:51, its nice to get some background info on the place.

The whole environment of this type of comp is awesome. Everyones giving their all but also just there to have fun. I have a feeling that even the drivers who the judges just said "that sucked" wouldve laughed it off and sent it again.
