Notice how most of the accidents had absolutely nothing to do with Matt other than him crashing himself? Plenty of other people plowed into the rtr cars other than Matt
5-6 clips is "90%"? lol.. I don't watch drifting, I had to re-watch it to see how bad it really was and he only caused 2 of the 5-6 clips, the rest were all self inflicted..
don't get me wrong these guys are some of the best drivers in drift racing but in my opinion we need to give some props to the guys flying those drones during these races

Deane's crash could have been catastrophic, had the contact taken place a bit earlier. When a Mustang goes flying into these measly fences, there'd be a bloodbath!
It's jugged by 3 judges For qualifying Each judge gives a total out of 100 and the 3 are averaged for a score. In Comp it's a lead follow, leader judged on qualifying criteria, chase jugged on proximity and mimicry, they swap and the 2 runs are compared and across the 2 runs the winner is who did better in both positions.
Its not a race but its won by judge's decision. Pretty sure there are multiple and they rate stuff like how close you follow the car, how much spedd you carry and generally having a good flow.
I watched João Barion live in several drift stages in Brazil, I used to really like watching him, but now his overconfidence throws me off. I hope he can get it together (and be more competitive) before their sponsors give up.
It's not really his overconfidence. He's a good driver, and should have all the confidence, but he just keeps having car problems. We saw what he could do at English town when his car was in the right place. I just hope that car is in good condition for the next season.

It's such a shame to see what this motorsport has become in the west. Every car has unnecessary modifications for absurd steering angle as well as way way way too much horsepower. I miss the days when this sport was still new and had just made it's way stateside. It's also lame to see so many sponsored drivers that get brand new model cars every year. Ain't nobody rushing out to buy a 24 z or rtr cause they saw it crash into the wall at formula d.

You don't race on public roads, either. Whens the last time you needed to take a turn going 100+ mph? What does going 150+ in a 1/4 mile matter on public roads? So why bother racing? Makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?
