    This made my day! Thanks guys! I think I may need to get a bunch of this and I don't even have my own model railroad yet. Just a metric tonne of flexiflo hoppers, a few fancy Amtrak baggage cars, a couple of B36-7s, all Rapido made of course. Oh and a few hundred cars and about a hundredish other Conrail and CSX locos. And a pile of unbuilt kits and unfinished models. Lol.

    Entertaining video.
    I’ve used both the main line and branch line versions with good success.
    I tried to find a product review before buying it but based on the price, I took a chance.
    My only comments are two fold:
    The product comes in strips as opposed to a continuous length and it does not have a centerline seam or marking that would be useful when laying on curves as the product needs to be cut to lay on curves.
    There were also no instructions with the product.Not that laying roadbed is challenging, but it would have been nice to hear from Rapido on the methods they recommend to install their product especially on curves.
    Also, their instructions are usually humorous and enjoyable to read.
    Overall, it is a great product and the branch line version is a nice addition to the market.

    • @rapidotrains
      @rapidotrains  3 года назад

      Thanks for your insightful comments, and I'm glad that you enjoyed the product. It really was an off-the-cuff product. Jason was getting neoprene sheet for his layout so we decided to tack on a roadbed order. Once our current stock is gone, it's gone. Our supplier shut down.

    I opened Facebook earlier this evening, and the first posts I saw were of Jason's new Brockville station. This made me want a laser cutter. I opened RUclips to distract myself.... and now I want Belgian waffles to go with a laser cutter.
    "Jeremy made me hungry" is apparently not the correct answer to give my wife when I'm making a mess in the kitchen at 8pm.

I love the Belgian Waffles recipe included at the end of the video, you can't see me now, (or can you?) but I'm standing on my chair clapping, Bravo Jeremy, Bravo. • @JeffShultz
    @JeffShultz 3 года назад

    I'm curious about 5 things:
    1. Sound deadening compared to cork;
    2. Curvability;
    3. Price compared to cork (which has been climbing);
    4. Potential availability of sheets for turnouts and yards; and
    5. Where were you with this stuff when I was laying my track 14 years ago?

    • @rapidotrains
      @rapidotrains  3 года назад

      1. Much better than just cork. 2. As-is, you need very broad curves. You need to slice it down the centre for tighter curves. 3. It's more expensive. 4. None - you can buy neoprene sheet much more cheaply from any rubber supplier. 5. Sorry! Actually once we sell out of our current stock, it's gone. We have a lot - but our supplier went out of business.

    Time to resurrect this video. I'm building a 19'+ shelf in my office at work to display my 20-car war-time Daylight. I'm modeling the section of track immediately east of tunnel 11 for about 1700'. My office walls just so happen to match the curve, which is a 75" radius (real-world). So, to the point of my story, do you think I can do about a 45⁰ curve on a 75" radius without cutting? I'm going to get it regardless, but I am just curious.
