Regarding the topic of Sverchok around 13:00, it's clear that Sverchok offers more capabilities than Geometry Nodes (GN). For instance, Sverchok can alter object transforms, a function not available in GN which only modifies mesh data. Additionally, Sverchok boasts a significantly larger variety of nodes compared to GN, enabling a broader range of functions. While it's possible to create complex custom nodes in GN that mimic those in Sverchok, the complexity of such nodes can be quite high. Sverchok also includes some unique features that would be beneficial for GN to incorporate. For example, as Erindale pointed out, the use of lists, especially nested lists, is a particularly powerful aspect of Sverchok.
Thank you Erindale for taking the time to do this podcast. This episode was a blast to listen to and I loved hearing your thoughts on the learning process
i personally love Erin's long videos... i think I can grab a lot of information, knowledge, skills, and a lot of stuffs in a single video rather then hovering over search bar... even I got excited to see that podcast is 2+ hours... great podcast tbh loved it
Great podcast ! I've had the pleasure to talk with Erin on a previous podcast CG Talks I hosted back in Nodevember 2020 :). He was already smashing it with the nodes and proceduralism then, only to grow into the 'node-beast' he is right now ! And even if he would talk about some far less interesting stuff (the knowledge treasury he is) just merely listening to his smooth radio voice is a pure audio joy :)

I'm working on an Unreal Addon that will "translate" Blender Geometry node-groups into Unreeal's "Dynamic mesh" system... This would give players realtime access to the inputs of dynamic meshes... anything you can do in Blender, the player could do *live*. All new gameplay elements. I can't wait to see all the cool new stuff people put into games! ^_^ I learned blender watching your and Erindale's tutorials... Pushed past and ended up making my own tutorials on very advanced concepts in Geo-nodes. ^_^ Love your work!
Practically every node that's translated, I have to manually create the entire thing in Unreal. Unreal's Geometry script nodes is very... rudimentary. I've massively expanded their system, creating nodes that are compatible with the way blender does things. Like how they index each vertex/edge/face for each node, and automatically translating from a quad based system (blender) to Triangle system (Unreal). Been a beast. :D I should have enough nodes translated, by the end of August, to move my procedural humanoid into Unreal's game system, and be able to spawn randomly generated procedural humanoids in real time. ruclips.net/video/9HDSEW8GoKA/видео.html Since this video, I've added enough morphs to do Orcs, Goblins, and Werewolves... all able to be shapeshifted in real time.
Thank you to both of you for the interesting podcast! The link in the description doesnt lead to the courses you're talking about and the code is not valid there
I first opened blender when I was 13 , that ui scared the shit outta me and I didn't even look towards blender until I turned 16 ( since I was bored during lockdown )
Great podcast. But I'd rather indie devs didn't release 'AAA quality' titles. i.e. huge downloads, massive system demands, unoriginal ideas, bug ridden, life-sapping yawn fests. Well, some of them at least.
Great talk!

Quite inspiring. I actually started to notice that I'm able to grasp some complex math functions visually thanks to blender.

Yessss this man is a wizard with geometry nodes. Edit: his process of thinking and visualizing is incredible! These podcasts are so amazing

Thank you guys for having this chat. You have both provided and keep providing enormous value to me and the Blender community.

Great insight, always so inspiring Andrew and the guests. Can't thank you and the Blender community enough to how it has shaped my life.

I really enjoy all the content from you two amazing people. So excited to watch this chat with Erin!

Hello, Great episode. The coupon code is invalid !
Great episode! Are you both coming to BCON this year? See you there :)
