- I filled my tag on day one of muzzleloader season! And not alone. It was my friend Nicole's FIRST time EVER observing a deer hunt. We set the bar high for her lol. And my friend Marta was there as well. The three of us gut the deer and drug it out of the woods, then skinned it by a fire. I have more butchering to do!!
Muzzleloader used in video is the CVA Accura .45 caliber muzzleloader!

This is meat and something to eat to us. so yes, she is happy. This is food and fun.
Bow poundage tip
You always say that you rather have bad form and get those few extra pounds.
But I’ve found a way to get more wait with good form.
I’m now shooting over 60 lbs and I started at 45 lbs
It’s an off-season project but the results can be amazing
If you back down your limbs to where it’s easy to draw back with good form and shoot a lot like that then slowly increasing your poundage while keeping good form after a few months your muscles in your back that are never used, except when drawing a bow will get stronger and you should be able to reach the same number of lbs or more with good form
Hopes this helps it’s worth it
For sure. Thanks for the feedback!
It's awesome you have emotion when shooting animals!! People that don't just kill to kill
Its not killing, its harvesting an animal. I harvested a 400lb Black Bear, Great eating. Good luck, be safe
Same to you!
I have a crush on marta
You must have been in Oklahoma, the wind was rough here. Lol
Congrats. Haven’t hunted with muzzle loader since back home in maine.
I was in ocala last weekend with my bow and passed up a 6 point chasing a doe because he was hidden behind brush. But man
Dang! Hunting in FL is tough!
Nice shot. I've never hunted with a muzzleloader. Only with a crossbow, a 243, 222, & 3006. The doe I got weighed 120 lb. It's a pretty good size for Texas Hill country. I wish I could send you a picture of it but I don't know how to do it on RUclips, but I need to buy me a vacuum seal. Usually I wrap my meat up the old-fashioned way with butcher freezer paper and tape tape. But I made venison stew. My daughter and her boyfriend loved it. My wife will not eat it. I also get emotional when I get a deer. I'm glad your friends got a deer also and Nick. Take care
Congratulations nice meat in the freezer 👍😁
What kind of bench rest is that ??? It looks like it has a lot of adjust-ability. Do you like it/is it good ???
Absolutely. Birchwood Casey makes it!
Bite your tongue about putting venison down
Luv watching your video sister, way better than the other u tube stuff.
It’s so real to the point videos.
Keep up the great work 💯👍
I appreciate that!
Hey Allie, you are absolutely right. Bear meat is far better than deer. Bear is second on my list. Elk is number 1 then bear followed be deer. Just me.
Best of luck to you. Take care and be safe.
Agreed!
Put it in the smoker and smoke to 165 internal then wrap in foil cook to 205 internal then wrap it in a towel then put in cooler for two hours. Should pull apart great just add BBQ and your done.
A cooler with out ice? I’ve don’t know of this method.
@@TommyTactix ya it comes out tender and falls apart. It takes it to get up to 205 to for the temp to break down the muscles to come out tender. Do the same thing with pork butt. Put on your rub smoke to 165 wrap with foil then put in smoker till it hits 205 then wrap it in a towel to set a couple hours. Also leave tin foil on when wrapped. Take out pull and add BBQ.
awesome congrats
Thank you! Cheers!
Congratulations on real nice healthy doe and no need to track her!
Saludos buen video felicidades por tu caseria👍
It gave no trouble whatsoever and showed excellent Accuracy, outdoors Allie.

Muzzleloader hunter from VA in the Appalachian mountains. Love to see yall get on it.
Love it!
Hey Allie, congratulations on deer #2.
With the price of meat these days, your doing great job filling the freezer.
Congratulations again. Best of luck with the rest of the season. Take care and be safe.
Thanks Fred!
Anytime you have trouble just think about this if given the opportunity that bear me being hungry would eat you or your dog they are a very brutal animal his green brutal animal at certain age and size
For sure.
Nice hunt Allie you need to try a old days supper around your bonfire we called them Hobo Dinners just cube some meat carrots and whatever you like wrap them in double tinfoil and roast in your fire coals there quite tasty after a hunt and don't take to long to cook.Good hunting
Thanks for watching!!
Congratulations on your "powder" deer harvest. I decided to not go to PA for the muzzleloader season and will be there for rifle season. Can't wait! Your videos make it even harder!!! Haha
Good luck this year!
Hi Allie, Wishing you Happy Holidays. Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏🙏Much Blessings to you. ✝Lord-Jesus-Christ dot 🙏c🙏o🙏m
Thanks for watching!
For the record, I wouldn't shoot a bear either. Have hunted all sorts of game my entire life and bear are a no for me. So I get it
Definitely a weird feeling.
Great Job Allie!
Congrats that’s the only thing I hate hunting with what is this the 1770’s with muzzle loader lol 😂
Hahahah thanks for watching John!
You should try the traditional muzzleloaders sometime, they're actually a lot of fun to hunt with
Its on the list for sure!
Everyone do know that when butcher the deer( any animal/ check the liver to make sure the animals are healthy
For sure.
Yes my friend
How do you like your Sitka gear. I just bought the finatic jacket and bibs
I really like it!
Awesome Allie, enjoyed watching!
Happy to hear that!
It's great to see the Sports Ladies out there. Great job.
Thanks for watching Richard!
Hey Allie, Congrats on that big doe. Keep the great content coming. Also hope you have your eyes on a pre rut morning sit tomorrow, pretty high huntcast prediction. I know ill be out.
I've got my eyes on that too!! 👍

Thanks for watching David! Cheers.
i'll take that silver skin,,I need sinew.
Bow backing?
Congratulations! I know I mentioned this in a previous video. Go ahead and process and vacuum seal. Leave the sealed bags in a refrigerator to wet age for 7-9 days (my optimal time from experience). Even what you want to grind. You get zero waste compared to having a pellicle on dry aged meats.
Thanks for the idea Josh!
Congrats on the nice doe Allie that's awesome. I've been being very selective this year and holding out for 1 of the 2 buck on my hit list lol. Probably won't shoot a doe I was fortunate enough to harvest a pretty big cow elk in Colorado in September so I've got plenty of meat in the freezer.
Nice! That's good stuff!
Congratulations another Doe them Doe are about like our bucks down here if she would have had her guts she would have pushed 140lbs that's about our average buck weight here in Florida
Ya, they can get pretty big around here!
Great job congratulations I don’t normally hunt early black powder to warm for me but I do hunt the late season and rifle and yes I process my own meat loved your video on how to process the hind quarter
Thanks for watching!! Glad you enjoyed it.
First! And congrats Allie! 😂
I bumped a herd of does bedded down 2 yards from my sit Saturday here in The Catskills in my backwoods! There was a stand off for 20 minutes, me and the matriarch in front of each other, but it was pitch black out and all I could see was her outline. After 20 minutes, they moved off. My heart was racing all the time. I knew I wasn't going to nail them, but it was a "win" for me to not get busted and to be 6 feet from a doe for 20 minutes standing perfectly still.
I did fill two doe tags on day one of regular season this year in September, so I'm good. I'm still bowhunting.
Congrats!!
@@OutdoorsAllie Thanks. 👍
Question: What color is the "Eat Wild Hoodie"?
Good deal Lucille but I couldn't help but laugh when you said you couldn't shoot a bear because it looked like your dog that was so cute I busted out laughing you're a mess for Hunter but a good one 👍😆😉🐝
Might change my mind this year!
😂 you guys are a trip. I love watching your videos. You always find a way to make me crack up. It’s gotta be a blast to hunt with you guys! Congratulations!
LOL thanks for watching!
Sous vide is a safe way to cook bear to medium rare while ensuring its safe to eat! Trichinosis dies at 137 degrees if it’s sustained for long enough. Sous vide is the best way I know of to do that.
Good idea!
Congrats...Muzzleloader starts tomorrow here in Vermont....Love your channel.
Thank you! Good luck out there!
Absolutely love u and your channel.Im a hunter from Pa so i can relate to the terrain and Game.Keep up the great work and good luck this season!
Thank you and good luck this season!
Congratulations 🎊 definitely a big doe awesome video will be waiting for your next video
Coming soon!
Two years ago, I decided to switch out my bow, for my Hawkins 50 cal. Cap lock Muzzle loader, for that gun season, & wouldn't you know it, an 8 point buck came around the corner of the trail, at less than 25 yards! 😖
Even though I experienced a hang fire, I stayed on target, & still blew the bottom 1/3 of his heart off.
It had a delay like a "flinchlock" rifle!
Kept thinking within that second delay, 😳 go off...GO OFF! 💥💨
Flinchlock hahahaha
@@OutdoorsAllie I got that from Outdoors with the Morgans.
He calls them flinchlocks. 😁
Well done, Allie! Very nice hunt back in Pa! Great job processing it as well!
Thanks James!
Good job on your deer harvest and Congratulations .Good Luck on all your hunting.
Thanks Jimmy, you as well!
whys this weapon have no ramrod?
It's foldable, in my backpack.
Congrats and great shot there it is always fun to watch young ladys in the woods having a great time👍😉
Thanks Paul!
Congratulations on the nice doe.
Thank you!
Glad you are over the poison ivy
Oh boy, me too!
I just swapped my load over to 120 grains of Blackhorn 209 and a 50 cal elr powerbelt in 330 grain. Shot two deer within a week and both insta dropped.
Ya, I like the powerbelts a lot!
@@OutdoorsAllie I was running the platinums 270 aerolites with 120 grains of pellets but every since I switched to the black horn and the elr I am impressed. Shot a doe in potter county and dropped her like a ton of bricks then shot one near my house on Saturday and she didn’t even know what happened. Scared the crap out of sone friends when I shot. They thought someone was using a high caliber rifle not a inline
You could wrap meat in freezer wrap then vacuum seal last longer
Interesting idea!
Awesome! Congrats, great video! Keep it going!
Thanks so much!!
Do you field dress your own deer
Yep.
Bear must be cooked before you eat the meat
Yeah I’ve heard you can get trichinosis from bear meat that isn’t cooked well enough, same thing you can get from pork that isn’t cooked well enough.
Not true about the pork unless it's a wild pig and you don't want to get sick from raw bear meat it's miserable
@@earlshaner4441 OK yeah I’ve never tasted bear meat and most people over cook domestic pork but I know with wild pork it has to be cooked longer.
Great Doe, Congrats!
I'm surprised you wait to remove the silver skin. Do you find that helps?
Yes, I do. Saves time in the initial butchering and helps prevent some freezer burn!
@@OutdoorsAllie "helps prevent some freezer burn"... OOOoooooo, I like that.
Too bad I am seeing it now. I just processed my archery deer last night.
Thank you
Ya need to shoot a percussion or a flintlock….real black powder. Inlines are cool but old school primitive are a blast.
I've been looking into flintlocks.
@@OutdoorsAllie kibler makes a great kit flintlock
right on allie congrats!!!
Thank you!!
I’ve never heard anyone say bear meat better then whitetail but props to that
Give it a try. You'll see!
Congratulations!! Thanks for another great video.
Thanks Kirk!
Really good video 👍🏻 you were so excited as we all are when we get what we came for & it really is a good feeling.
Thanks Ronnie!

Another success story. That is soo fun.
Thanks for watching Pamela!
Do you hunt lobsters ?
Yes, it's a blast!
@@OutdoorsAllie can you please film yourself catching and cleaning ALL of your lobsters ? And did you know that you can actually devein your lobsters BEFORE you rip their tails off ? It’s VERY EFFECTIVE. Please film yourself deveining all of your lobsters BEFORE you rip their tails off. 🙏
It’s a new technique that some people are starting to do.
Great video and happy hunting!
Thanks for watching Daniel!
Great job Allie 👍
Thank you!! 😁
note to self....don't yank....squeeze the trigger....deep breath....exhale 😉....holy sh.....t should have called in Nick 😆

Good evening from Syracuse NY everyone
Good evening Earl!
Hi my friends

Thanks Ronnie!
Your welcome
Congratulations on #2
Thanks Robert!
Congrats on a big doe. Great video
Thanks for watching Steve!
@@OutdoorsAllie your very welcome I enjoy watchn
Congrats
Thanks Ron!
Glad you're honest unlike most that can't admit they did a OOPS when they miss one. It happens to us all.
My fail was being to relaxed and over confident on easy shots. I learn early on target pratice was a must for me.
I can always use more target practice!
It’s good to have emotions for the animals you take , I feel the same way give thanks for the blessings
Thanks for watching Tony!
