Question to all you omnibus nerds out there!! If these things where supposed to be so good why where they so noisy and why where they so uncomfortable? Better ride on an ironing board!!!
Going to and from school, going swimming afterwards, riding into town on a Saturday.
That particular bus was part of my childhood.

That take off at 9:40 takes me back to Tigers in the 80s and 90s here in Sydney's northern suburbs.

Nothing quite beats the sound of a Leyland National or a Leyland Olympian 700 Series....
Very sad that Halton Transport has ceased trading, was once an extremely well run undertaking that ran a public service.

Its not the quickest pulling away but once it gets going will easily do motorway speeds!
I remember GM buses had Mk1 nationals and then they had the Mk 2 and ribble had both they were nice to ride on, i prefer these than the new ones

It's a leyland national mk2 the mk1 has got diffrent front light cluster got come round the lights
The engine on this bus sounds like a gardner.
It's a Leyland TL11 engine.
