Unfortunately not one service has all of them. Netflix has the anime ones. Apparently HBO Max and the Criterion Channel have a lot of the Showa ones, but I’m in Canada and don’t see them on there. That might just be a location thing, so I can’t confirm that. The monsterverse I believe is on HBO max, but again, I can’t confirm that. The heisei era is either all over the place or no where. (I know, super helpful) The Millenium era is mostly just for purchase I believe. Shin Godzilla was on Crunchyroll last time I checked, but who knows now. And I’m pretty sure lots of the Showa era is available on some free services like Tubi. Many of them might be only dub, though. Yeah, unfortunately when it comes to availability of Godzilla movies, it’s not the simpliest. The easiest option is to just buy the physical copies of the movies, which can be a bit of money, I know. And a few of the heisei movies can only be found as insanely high after market sales now. It’s pretty annoying actually. I have official copies of every Godzilla movie, but not the subtitled versions of Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah and Godzilla Vs Mothra, because $400 is just too much to spend on a double feature blu ray release.
I will absolutely do that. Unfortunately they didn’t release it anywhere close to where I live last weekend. But they are with the extended theatrical run. I’ll be seeing it tomorrow and begin working on a video.
Thanks! Aside from the fact that you watched this video, I see you have a Godzilla poster as your profile picture. What would you say is your favourite Godzilla movie?
Nice tier list, I found your video and channel while searching for Godzilla minus one news. What do you think of the new Japanese godzilla minus one? I am concered it may be to dark. The japanese reviews say its great. Good luck with your channel I will check in on you when I am searching for godzilla news. do you plan on expanding the channel to other things/ Like anime? or classic 50s sci fi and monsters? or something else? I know I ask alot of questions
I personally prefer Godzilla as a darker character and it does look like that’s the approach Yamazaki took with Minus One, so I’ll be happy if that is the case. Yes absolutely. I’ve already done a video on the Godzilla anime movies, and have many more anime videos planned as well as ideas revolving around older sci fi and Tokusatsu as well. My goal with this channel is to try and bridge the gap a little bit between anime and Tokusatsu, because it usually feels that people treat it like a “pick one” topic.
most the channels are saying the same thing, that godzilla minus one will be darker and more graphic. I am an old man and I have seen enough real life dark things, pain, suffering, etc.. so I am not a fan of the graphic horror films. I doo like so far from what I have seen of the trailer for minus one, the new godzilllla look (but we have to wait and see it all if it in the film) and I like that it seems to be more realistic as far as the people being afraid and running and the destruction of the city, so all of that I likeI just dont want to see godzilla stepping on women and children. But I dont think they will show that, since this a family show I dont think minus one will get to graphic.@@ShinGlassman054
Minus One is on my watchlist. what are some movies youd recommend if i want more harrowing films like the original, wth a focus on the human loss and a dreadfull sense of "oh god, all these people are dead"? was pretty put off by Shin Godzilla, where they barely show any civilian deaths and have this imo tasteless contrast to the "were going to meet your father again" moment from the original when they give a dramatic death to the fucking prime minister

I believe I have seen everything post 2000, but I there are a few in the Heisei Godzilla that I still need to just sit down and watch. I know I am forever in the minority, but Godzilla '98 is a guilty pleasure of mine. The cartoon wasn't bad either in that early 2000's FOX Kids way. The 1978 show had a better theme song, though. Godzilla Vs Mothra is amazing, I love it so much. It was also the second Japanese Godzilla film I watched so it has a special place in my heart. All the power to everyone who enjoys Godzilla ‘98. I tried to enjoy it, so I watched it multiple times, but sadly I just couldn’t in the end. I do have a higher opinion on the sequel cartoon, though. I have seen Godzilla Singular Point, and I personally love it. I love the mixture of hand drawn and CG animation. I love the music. I love the human characters. I love the really weird and convoluted sci fi aspect. I love the really unique monster designs. Can’t wait to see Minus One. I was one of those that hated 2004. Saw it in theaters and really disappointed. Thought Cranston (who was the biggest actor at the time) should have been the main protagonist and the son of Kickass actor. Kickass could have been in flashback scenes from the 50’s.
