For me personally the Heisei Design is the Quintessential Godzilla design, with Minus One & Monsterverse being runner up

I have a super soft spot for 2000, probably because he was my first exposure to the character (and I still love the crazy spines to this day) thanks to Destroy All Monsters on gamecube.
I do think Shin and Minus One are strong competitors for best of all time, though. Both are instantly iconic.

Allow me to educate you on the differences between the Heisei Godzilla suits
1984 - more of a return to form with giving him his ears back, 4th toe on each foot, bent arm posture is back, fangs, brown irises
1989 - Gives us the template the rest stems from. Secondary row of teeth, cat-like face, even-sized dorsal fins, brown irises are retained, muscular build
1991 - Top of his head is pointier, is a lot more bulky, dorsal fins are moved down a bit so they look really awkward, brown irises remain
1992 - slimmed down, flatter head top, golden irises, rearranged dorsal fins
1993 - slimmer shoulders
1994 - bulky again but with even distribution throughout the body, longer neck, angry eyebrows, bigger eyes
1995 - burn patches (obviously), new dorsal fins, fiery orange eyes

I love the Heisei look and I think it's the most inconically Godzilla, but I just love the Minus One design. Perhaps it's recency bias, but I think it's my new favorite look over 1985.
Minus One seems like a perfect blend of all the eras into one look. It has the shape and proportions of the early films, it has the massive legs like Heisei (yet doesn't look like fat baby rolls), and the spiky spines of Millennium, and it also uses pure CGI to its advantage by making him look more dinosaur and less like a bipedal human standing upright in a suit. My only negative is that he's a brownish tone, where I wish he was more black like Heisei.
Personally, I love the earthy brown tones on him.
I feel Godzilla Minus One is the of the VERY BEST films of the past decade!
It's for sure one of my favorites of the year at least.
Shin Godzilla most brilliant take is contrasting how stationary his body is opposed to his tale which constantly moves like a snake. Shin Godzilla is scary, and most important devoided of emotion which makes it so much more scary and believable as a mutated outerwordly creature. To me perfectly embodies what the first Godzilla meant and it's an S tier.

The first A choice you made should be the first S tier. When godzilla emerges by the lighthouse b4 fighting Ghidora is probably the best shot of Godzilla ever. We all liked minus 1...but its not really a suit.

The sad thing about Godzilla 98 is that the design is fucking AWESOME for a creature/kaiju, but it is NOT a good Godzilla design.

Minus goji is my favorite toho design by a long shot because it’s a great blend of everything before it…
Heisei will always have my fav suit designs but god is Minus One a close second

Garegoji and Toragoji are personal favorites of mine. I'm a fan of both movies and their respective TV shows.
I haven't had a chance to watch the new Monarch show yet, but the Animated Godzilla show was great.

Happy to hear I'm not alone.
I can’t speak for all Godzilla fans, but I can say as a lifelong lover of the franchise no need to worry about how your taste in suits “fits” with anyone else’s. The beauty of Godzilla as a whole is that there are SO MANY flavors to enjoy, and 20 different people can have 20 different rankings, and it all great.
Personally speaking, my tier list would be so boring because I would put almost all of them in A 😅. What can I say, I love Godzilla so much that I look at almost any version of him, and I’m like, “This is awesome! Yes, please, I would like a figure of that, Toho/Legendary.”
That being said, I feel like I have a couple of hot takes because I’m not as huge of a fan of that last two Japanese looks, and fans seem to love them. Shin Godzilla’s design I love, but I just wish it was a bit more alive and mobile. That’s a matter of taste, though, and the filmmakers were clearly going for a very still and imposing vibe which worked for many. It works for me, too, but not as well. I’m also not a fan of the Godzilla Minus One look. The propositions and texture rub me the wrong way and I don’t care for the head. I don’t hate the design, but it’s one that I’d put in a “it’s fine” tier. The irony here is that Minus One is already one of my top Godzilla movies.

No way the Megalon suit is the best of the Showa era. You are entitled to your opinion of course, but he looks way to "friendly" at this stage of the series.
I guess I just like a friendly Godzilla.

Godzilla 2000 is my favorite haha. S tier for me. vs Biollante is extremely definitive and perfect too. All the Heisei's are great. Really dislike GMK, he looks like Tony Soprano lumbering around with his gut hanging out.

Would have been cool to see more discussion on the legendary Godzilla movies since they are fairly different in each movie especially if you consider burning G man from KOTM. Otherwise good list! Not sure where I’d put them all. I actually like 98s design as trying to do something different just don’t like the film. 😊
It was similar to Heisi for me. The designs didn't change how I felt about it as a whole. But you're right, burning probaby should have been mentioned.

You put 2 different versions of the millennium series, but 1 from legendary? So far at the time of your video, there are 4 distinctly different versions.
The changes in the Legendary design don't change the way I feel about it. Similarly to the Heisei.
