I saw a video a few years ago that made me realize Ive always wanted a Batman and Superman movie set in the 1930's/40's when they were actually created, the classic style clothes, architecture, cars etc... think L.A confidential meets batman, closer to the Batman the animated series actually.

Can't remember what year in the early 90's, Thunderbirds Tracy Island was sold out everywhere in the UK from November.

As a teenager I remember seeing those little Smuf action figures sold in souvenir shops down south several years before the TV show came out. I remember being puzzled about it and wondering "who's buys all these things?" I never saw them anywhere else until the TV show came out, then they started appearing in toy stores.

Even before the video hit 1976 I had in my mind that one of my fondest memories was getting a skateboard for Christmas in probably 1977. (UK so maybe we were a year behind the US curve?) The one I first owned even looked much like that one shown. And boy did it get some hammer. I got back into the skateboarding in the late 1980's when it made a resurgence. I was in my mid 20's by then, and the group of us who skated would even take the boards to the pub with us. The landlord of the pub would do the same dad joke EVERY single time. "I hope you lads aren't going to drink and ride..?"

I completely agree about introducing a bit more fantastical elements back to Batman and Superman for that matter, there comic books, not true crime novels, its supposed to be over the top, other worldly but you still care about the characters and plot, realism is overrated in my opinion. These were written for 5-12 year olds not jaded, cynical adults.
