Bryan Carraco wanted to test everything he's done to his Jeep Cherokee what better way then to head out to DTOR and give it a good ole beatdown, he has swapped out the stock axles for a Dana 60 rear and a Dana hp 44 front stuffed with 4.88 gears and RCV axles. Sitting on Maxxis 37" sticky creepy crawlers

Now this is a damn well built XJ if I've ever watched one. Hell even stock ones can take a beating but this guy was almost merciless! Loved watching every minute of it.
Jacob Hoschar thanks man, that's what I said I've broke stock ones a lot easier.
thank you that is what i wanted her build to do.
what axles are those? hd 44s? or 60s? i cant tell lol
I'm thinking that with a little lower tire pressure that thing would go a bit better - didn't see much tire deflection going on.
Kyle Q the maxxis sidewalls are stiff he ran 7psi, my treps don't start flexing the sidewalls until 0psi.
HIGH OCTANE FILMS these aren't treps though
Drew E. no sir those are creepy crawlers.
my 40s are creepys and dont flex at 5psi tought ass tires
Awesome Jeep and great driver. But those tires totally suck.
That was the worst display of wheeling ever! But the XJ took what he dished out.
Richard Livermore shoulda been there! Whole point was to thrash on it to test any weak points.
Exo cages really suit the boxy body lines of the XJ
Thanks for watching and commenting!
That was a good beating
South ga jeeepers yes sir, thanks for watching and commenting.
Those bouncers make it look easy compared to a built street rig. no thumbs down to the jeep by all means... its takin it all on the chin
For sure man 30-100k dollar rigs make the vertical walls and ledges look easy when they really aren't. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yeah she loved every minute of it lol. But that is what I wanted out of my build. I don't go that hard all the time.
This is one of the reasons I didn't go with BLEE'S 3 link. There's just not enough holding that cross member in.
Besides that kit, nice XJ
Josh B not sure who's kit it was be he reinforced it, hopefully it won't happen again.
HIGH OCTANE FILMS I am, the name is on the lower control arm. Think about all the people running that kit with 2 bolts on each side holding it on.
Josh B I've already reinforced them.
If you like watching this guy drive the same paths only to keep getting stuck this is the video for you 👍
Wheel Speed and flex isn't always the answer, put a limit strap on that front axle in the center to keep it from unloading so much that would help a lot with keeping the front end on the ground and away from the bouncing. just my $.02
Jesse Lowhorn he plans to add limit straps I did ask him that Saturday.
Let's face it, that 6 banger doesn't have enough combination of speed and torque like a well built V8 would but I love watching them run the hell out of that 6 banger trying tho. I think it's hilarious
I BELIEVE THAT FRONT END NEEDS TO BE A BIT STIFFER AND WEIGHT UP FRONT WOULD HELP.
thanks for watching and commenting!
Too lazy to lower the tire pressure so we beat the f*** out of the truck and gets nowhere
psi was 7, when water meets dirt it makes mud and mud on a hill is very slick.
Jeep should have kept the ol straight 6,
sandman 62 he did
sandman 62 still has the 4.0
Unmistakable sound to it
HIGH OCTANE FILMS I think he meant Chrysler should have kept them in general ?
yerwrng maybe, in which I agree, tough long lasting engines.
I think he's just having fun trying to tear that thing up and see how far he can push it
Haha his shirt matches his cage, bumpers, and different covers.
haha
What was his tire pressure? Doesn't look like much flex in the tires. Should have about 5lbs, of air in them for beadlocks. I run 12lbs, for stock non beadlocks.
Kevin Smith he was running 7, my maxxis treps sidewall won’t start flexing until they are at 0, it was extremely slick this day a wet dtor is a very slick one.
Oh okay. Couldn't get a good look at the tires. They do have a stiff sidewall. I've been impressed with Maxxis tires. I'm going to have to get me a set, once I get an engine and trans, for my Cherokee.
Kevin Smith I have been too, I love my Treps, I like them better than others I ran, tsls, ltbs, boggers, mtrs and others
How do they do on the road? I'm going to have to change my lift kit to something else. I was thinking of a rock crawler setup. Maybe I would get a little better on road ride. But I imagine with the stiff sidewall of the treps, it just wouldn't matter! LOL
I'm not sure how they on the road. he rarely hits pavement with it unless it snows or something.
What kind of axles does that have.. jk i read the description
lol 😆 it’s amazing how many don’t.
I had a Plymouth reliant with a 2.2 four banger in it and I ran that old thing so hard and far more merciless because I didn't care if it blow up it was just an old clunker anyway but I had fun with it I thought it was a lot more merciless then that guy driving a Jeep. I ran it so hard people thought I was a lunatic
Use x treme trekkar tyre n u sure beat the track in one shot lol
Nice cage though !
Thanks for watching and commenting!
sorry, but bias tsl's where its at
Guy following us had a set of those he didn't even try most the obstacles he knew better.
Think he learned to drive from his mom. No man would get this pissed off. He is all mom showed me just floor it...no strategy at all.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
That crossmember is WEAK SAUCE !
And because it was one of the models made back in the earlier 80s it was carbureted I did not have a rev limiter and I honestly would rev it up to about seven or eight thousand RPM or however hi it would rev
Hello.
Congratulations on the channel, I'm a number 1 fan here in Brazil.
I'm looking to ride a Cherokee xj for trails but here in Brazil, and it's hard to find preparation pieces, I'm importing a 6.5 "Rough Country kit to use 35" tires. I would like some tips from you to reinforce my Dana 30 to the fullest.
Sorry for the bad English.
Thank you in advance for your attention
Wendel Ferreira if you want a stronger dana 30 you can upgrade axles to Yukon or RCV, this jeep has a Dana 44 front with rcvs, I plan to swap my 30 for dana 44 as well, I'd say those aren't common in Brazil.
Here parts for preparation and difficult, we have to import from the USA, the dana 30 and very weak I thought of putting a 60 or 70 dana on the front but it is complicated because the Brazilian transit legislation does not allow to increase the width of the cars, in this case would have And extreme to get original width and there it is at a very auto cost.
Wendel Ferreira ok if that's your only option of suggest Getting a set of rcvs www.rcvperformance.com if somehow you could find a Dana 44 from another jeep or Ford truck I'd use the 44
I'm going to look for a dana 44 and put rcv on it ..
Thanks for listening
Wendel Ferreira no problem hope I helped. I've been running 35" maxxis trepadors on mine haven't been super hard on it, it's holding up pretty good.
Just because I'm 56 years old does that mean I outgrew having fun in life
Lol....when the vehicle is the one with the talent.....
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Some softer tires would make that beast crawl
Thanks for watching and commenting!
people say sxs's are better but if you put 20k into an xj you would be able to send it way harder
Definitely, and tag insure it, drive it to the mall, deep in the woods etc.
lower the tire pressure......... build the hell outta a jeep then be an idiot and run full tire press.
sarge242 seen him air down myself. 🤷♂️
@@HIGHOCTANEFILMS was saying cause i havent ever seen a jeep with them good of tire spin that much
sarge242 every climb was wet, he is looser gears engine is working harder than it is too. Just sounds like he’s spinning them fast.
so coool !!! :D
Dirty Turtle off Road?
Josh Watts yes sir.
tank of gas = 20 minutes
Leadfoot2112 haha almost. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I got a two door XJ and I'm building it for mud and I'm just not think he should've went in a little slower even though he has the cage I wouldn't have beaten my Jeep up
Damn.... did he ever make it up anything?
clint jabaley yes I showed it in the video.
jold video but worth saying: jeeps (xj tj yj) are light vehicles, stop putting super thick sidewalled tires on them meant for full sized trucks hauling hay up to the cattle feed , these look to be maxxis trepadors with C (good) load range and 6ply side (bad) , for xj use a bfg C range mud terrain with 3ply side with about 11lbs of air and see the difference … the only thing worse then tires in video be a H load range with 10ply side from china as you can let all the air out and it wont flex (bulge) on these light jeeps … xj's are awesome vehicles do your homework and not end up like this.
Fuck if he drop his tyre pressures the jeep would walk straight up that hill. I see it in heaps of you yanks vids massive trucks struggling cause of high tyre pressures. I'm pretty sure my ute with 33s would climb that with low pressures
Well he did drop pressure, the hills are steeper and much slicker than they look, come out and ride with us and show us how it's done, be glad to video it.
Let some air out if those tires
Jonesing Around 😂
I like to buy old Clunkers just to take them out like that and run the living hell out of them
I'd show y'all how to beat one down, that's just child's play. Get down on the dammed thing for real and don't let up
This time....
Ryan Branch thanks for watching and commenting!
Let some damn air out of the tires... My God man...
Al Mulroy haven’t heard that comment yet.
That's just too small of an engine to be doing that with, that little 4.0 it's just not fast enough to do that kind of stuff is more for pulling things like a boat or something down the road
si es rapido el poblema son las llantas y el conductor
Tire pressure is tooooo high!
Shawn Simmons 🤖
how does this have so many views? I crept up that first hill in an open zj on 32s.. Granted it was dry... WTF?
Overland Generation up orange crush? Open diffs? I call bs. I’ve climbed it before and haven attempted it since it’s not a crawler hill.
@@HIGHOCTANEFILMS This was prob 2 years ago.. I Love the exo cage but I think it adds to much weight.. Add the weight of the axles and tires and he is pushing a lot more weight than I.. Perhaps that is why I made it up... Just 3.5 lift and 32 bfg tires on a 96 Grand Cherokee..
I might add that Chuck Norris was shotgun... Couldn't disappoint him!
if you said 5 years ago i still wouldn't believe it till i saw it. I've been on that hill alot over the years.
what did it cost you for that cage? I'm looking to put one on my XJ, looks good nice rig
It was home built
I'm glad I watch this video , I would never buy those tires they suk
Terry Jones get boggers or tsl super swampers
I use to have a Jeep. Every thing in the world went wrong with it! So I
got a Dodge Truck! Very Nice!
Yukon Man haha just another Chrysler product! Most problems I've had with the Cherokees is the axles aren't strong enough for what I put them though, I have a better set waiting to go in mine.
HIGH OCTANE FILMS l've had Ford and Chevy. I just never knew
how good ah Dodge was till I got
one. All the time I was growing up.
All my buddies run um down big
time!! And back than they was
REALLY UGLY! But I got me ah
2014 and I love it! I should have gotten it along time ago. I should
have got Allstate Ins. along time
ago too. It's got farmers beat by
a long shot!
Yukon Man haha I hated some chevys when I was a kid loved Ford and dodge, now I own a Chevy truck and like it.
Shift!!!
oliboy 4 haha it’s got a kit that makes that auto a Manual it won’t shift unless the driver shifts it.
@@HIGHOCTANEFILMS lol cool jeep fun video. My shit was never that tough.
oliboy 4 bigger axles help, If it had stock axles it wouldn’t have lasted long. The way he beat it.
😂😂😂😂
Thanks for watching and commenting!
To heavy can't pull his weight to much roll cage
Wheel base being a bit too short for the obstacle spacing is most of the reason it failed to climb and even a large contributor to the front unload . The weight to power don't help but if you're tires hit both ledges at once you generally just spin tires. My xj is heavier still runs a stock 4.0 for now , but could kill much of the stuff he was on , but I have a 118wb , true 42s , and my suspension doesn't unload as easy with struts .
must have a open diff
Thanks for watching and commenting!
less tire pressure and you probably would of made it first try lol
