R.I.P. Harold Hunter. I still remember when I saw him on that epic movie "Kids", he was young and powerfull and now he's gone. Enjoy your live to the fullest, cause you never know when the show is over. Peace
God this video hit home with me !! miss the old world of drinkin 40's skatin watching KIDS , Harmony Korine the zoo Justin pierce ,Harold and so many others . Those times were the best , never 2 be duplicated , its just the way we lived !! Shout out 2 anybody that did it big in the early 90's !!
Billy is sick! I love him, we met at Grand and Grand just about the time Harold died. He heard us skating and came down. We just chilled a bit and he invited me to a party later that night. To make sure i showed up he took off his jacket and gave it to me. It was the army jacket from Adrien Lopez. So I had to go.
word, being a 90s teen and shredding with my homies will never, and could never be the same,.. the place the time, and the passion... is forever unmatched
i ran into him at the banks a few years back...i didnt recognize him, but he said hello to my friends and i. i didnt realize it was bill until later on, but he was just a genuine nice guy.
skated with him in the 90s in gainesville at some park in a gas station warehouse..has a lil street area that connected to a vert ramp, he was doing insane tricks, we were having fun, and then he starts skating vert and doing all these airs...i was like..."pro"..glad hes still skating and ninjasising
yep. . I seen him at a demo in Pittsburgh right before that movie was released, and he was telling us all about it.. we thought it was going to be some little movie that a friend or something made. . but that movie is classic. . .also RIP Mike Cardona . . Quims brother
i was trying to figure out where i've seen harold hunter (5:13) dude was in KIDS! i forgot that larry clark got all local skate kids to be in that movie. nick lockman, jav nunez, etc.
Shout to billy rohan always there for all the kids and even me when I was growing up. Everyone couldn't afford the full price for boards and shoes. He held it down. I hope one day I can hold some TF kids down.
damn man. . im glad you brought him up. quim is his brother right?, . its been awhile now and haven't thought of him in awhile. . when did mike pass. . like 98-99 huh?
Wait...he got placed into a mental hospital because of a situation that happened in London, right? (I'm just assuming the facility was in England, if not London itself) but yet no one spoke english? What language were they speaking lol
Da KAnDyMaNFU it sounded like he had bipolar. He had an elevated mood when he was intoxicated and the cops probably committed him to the psychiatric ward. But I don't know we don't get the whole story.
For some reason New York skating doesn't interest me as much as California skating. I was in love with NYC most of my life as I was always predominately a graff writer that came up through Hip Hop, that happened to think skating was rad. As Skating has became more and more my focus over the years though, I realized that the NYC thing was either extremely hostile and violent (like the kids movie era) or incredibly arty. I just prefer the whole cali thing. Always loved the Dog Town thing, Suicidal Tendencies and all that shit. Plus like the best spots in the world are all in in Cali. Yeah a lot of them have been Skate Stopped now, but that just pushes it further I feel in that you gotta get more creative and the kids coming through have to do something fresh as they simply can't 1up a famous spot like what has always happened (what I mean is every year someone gets something more rad on a spot that's known like holywood high or el toro or something) I dunno dude. I think as I got older I realized that NYC is not something to aspire to, the place is a bit of shit-hole. On the other hand parts of cali shouldn't even exist really. LA is completely man made, right. Even the river.
it was in the city just a few years after 9/11 and the entire grid went down. i know you have never been to new your but let me rephrase THE ENTIRE CITY WENT BLACK.
Haha that people from california comment, I'm from michigan an have been to california an thought maybe it's cause everyone's by the beach all day skating, cause that's what I did.
if you have been you never would make that statement, but hey you sound like you need a friend, so go outside get some sun relax and possibly try to smile
You do know this was right after the twin towers fell? I think it's quite acceptable for New Yorkers to be a little jumpy when power goes out over a huge portion of the Northeast and Midwest.

Coming from a girl ranting on her keyboard, hoping she makes a difference, while she stares into a monitor.
