some people who come from a 'normal' family might look at this and think his dad is weird, but honestly I'm the same with my dad, just a different type of up bringing
The pressure he was under with Girl & Lakai had to be stopped, he also lived in a city where everyone was doing blunt slides down a 10 stair handrail & he was doing ollies over railings. He could never openly be his own type of skater so he hated everything & His dad wasn't helping since he seems to bug him a lot, i like to think that they do love each other, but idk. Nonetheless, he's in NYC now and he has Call me 917 & bianca chandon being successful brands. He seems a lot happier now but who knows, & tbh i dont really care just as long as he keeps doing no complies & making clothes, I'm happy.
he seems like he loves his dad but that living together was making him hate him, which i can def identify with. my mom is my favorite person in the world but i'm ready to flip after living at home for even like two weeks
Yo Alex you gotta cool ass dad... I know I never lived with him but always be grateful for your father and having him in your life cause I just lost my father a few weeks ago on Easter and as much as he drove me crazy at times I'd give ANYTHING to have him back... I wish my father was a pro skater and "unschooled" me with regular boring school but could've taught me how to skate... Anyway just be grateful for your father cause to me he seems like a pretty awesome guy and he was and always will be an awesome skater so bottom line enjoy him while he's around cause some day just like all of us he'll be gone and you'd give ANYTHING to have him back.. Keep shredding bro..
I feel like I can relate to Alex personally I skate alone because my dad drinks allot and most of the time i want to be left alone. Im sure Alex wouldn't care if he were sponsored or not. Living in that type of home, skating for hours on end is the only way to keep yourself remotely sane
@johnbutler8694 actually yes! I'm still skating! I host music and art events for people in my home town. I I have found more people with similar backgrounds and we work together to give young people something to do. *I'm a welder by trade* I drift and interview other drift drivers. Life is definitely what you make of it.

I don't think Steve's weird or jealous or w.e toward alex. they just joke around with each other. a d Steve likes to get under his skin. but you can tell there's love there. both sides.
Steve ‘Bulky’ Olsen was Skateboarder Magazine’s Skateboarder of the Year 1978 or 79. He signed that issue and one with his cover shot for me at a downhill slalom race in Breckinridge Colorado 2002.
what Meza said about seeing dudes in real life is 100....been lucky to see julien sakte a few times IRL and his skating in person is insanely beautiful....
I like the way he acts. I know that might sound strange, but it seems like all he cares about is skating, and he doesn't really care if he's on a team or not.
Adult Alcoholic children usually have kids who are adult children of alcoholics... It’s a self perpetuating vicious cycle of codependent addiction with subtle abuse of power and toxic love intertwined until one reaches their limit and summons the courage to break free and break the cycle of selfish self destruction in the name of genuine sanity, healthy self esteem and self fulfilling determination self preservation... It is difficult, challenging, painful and possible... through healthy accountability, sacrifice and a healthy support network, guidance, acknowledgement of a higher power and faith...
There is lots of other footage and even newer footage of Alex and his dad. I know it comes across as dysfunctional in this vid. But they actually have a great relationship.
A lot of the comments are saying that Steve has done this or that to keep up with the Jones.Leave the man alone...He looks good He is doing his thing and getting away with it......Keep it going Steve..
"How old was he? and Steve is just casually thinking "3...4..........5" Then Alexis like , "YOU'RE AN IDIOT! I WAS NOT 3 OR 4 OR 5!!!" That had me rolling!!!!
Man he was ripping that mini ramp that was amazing I f/w Alex hard because he’s a good skater and interesting off the board in a unique way, no one like him💯

By far one of my favorite Epicly Later'd. I died when they were fighting every 3 seconds. 😂
i like the way how he tells: "school is a trap so I took him out and un-school him" ! hahah, that is genius !
great scene with the dad.
I see genuine love in this father son duo
At least he knows his dad seriously both of them have always been one of the best and most stylish skaters of their generation s something went right
Him and his dad are just alike. That part was hilarious
Steve and Alex are amazing 😂
He's the product of a parent that can never be "the bigger person" it makes you get over a lot of the other bullshit.
.. the dad who never grew up!! .. still glad Alex turned out ok!
This should be titled "Epicly Later'd: Alex Olsen's Dad"
the father son dynamic was awesome
He's father drunk! lol love it hahaXD
