Campaign for North Africa strike me as The Room of board games, in that it's objectively terrible, but so fascinatingly, mesmerizingly terrible in such creative ways that it can never truly be "the worst"

I ran a White Wolf LARP for years, and the replacement of rolling dice is RPS. Eventually, we had to come up with a randomizer for the Gms. After playing RPS long enough, especially against the same people several times each game, it does get close to "cheating". So did we buy this gadget? No, I paid about $2 for a "Rock Paper Scissors" die. We put it in those little plastic bubbles you get when you buy a toy from the grocery store (they used to be a quarter). So I spent $2.25 for exactly what this gadget does.
I wonder if you could complete The Campaign for North Africa in the 3 year timeframe if you did it for 8 hours every day. Obviously, there's no way anyone would have that kind of time to dedicate to it, but I don't know, maybe you could make a doomsday cult out of finishing the game.

Keep it sealed, frame it. The Rock Paper Scissors game doesn't have the aura of "Spencer's gifts" around it. It's one of those cheap things you find near the K-Mart checkout. Should've said it in here last video, but rps is not a board game, barely qualifies, automatically wins worst scams, playground games, time-killers or toys brackets, but not board games. People pay for experiences with board games, memories of youth or strategy or story, with rps offering none of that. CNA is infinitely worse and will always stand as the worst experience one can have with an actual board game Edit: the "board games" mentioned to justify rps are all still party games, with rps still not qualifying for either category

Even if the mechanics are aight for an hour or two, there would be an overwhelming dread of the rest of the experience that the group collectively has to deal with the entire time. In a 10-person group, everyone needs to be having a halfway decent time, and that dread and attrition and stress is powerful

I don't get the ableism angle for RPS at all, how is the solution to "it's difficult for me to make a fist, splayed hand, or peace sign" to buy a $20 scoring dock? Say a number at the same time. Flip a coin. Roll a die. Guess a number. There are free alternatives to a free game. I chose RPS to win it all because it's the most cynical game in the bracket by far (but that was before I understood that the Adultery game was about real adultery).

I think the thing with Adultry is the game is VERY old, one of the oldest on this list as far as officail release dates dating back all the way to 1969. So I have to give it somewhat of a pass based on just how old this game really is and the concept being so niche. Knowing the time frame it came out in, it's safe to say the very concept of an adult only game was very novel and they were just making things up that might be fun for somewhat new swingers subculture that was popping up at the time. The game quite rare too only seeing a handful of reprintings over the years with probably very few being published over time; this is NOT the kind of game you'd find out in the wild very often.
Honestly this final match-up is a lot more depressing than it has any right to be. RPS shouldn't even have been seeded as a not board game, and Adultery has only gotten this far on wild sex-negative conservatism. Don't get me wrong, it also would have been boring if Public Assistance or the death penalty game got in only due to controversy, but at least those are undeniably board games and not novelties.
