My nutritionist recommended I go through my wardrobe and pull anything that no longer fit. I'm embarrassed to admit that I had tons of new clothes that I never wore because I was buying the size I wanted to be instead of the size I am. 😢 But I am embracing self-acceptance and wearing beautiful clothes for who I am right now. Thank you for this video!

I did this too. I bought the size I was used to because it was so hard to admit that size me is gone. It wasn't a great look. Once I accepted the changes it was so much fun finding my new style. I like the new me and I hope you like your new you too. We are beautiful!

      Hello
I gained weight because trauma, and my doctor told me to keep all the clothes that did not fit me anymore. His idea is that when you lose weight , you feel that you recover yourself if you are able to wear clothes that you used to love. He also said that I had to try them and maybe not to wear them again, but to be sure they fit me again. I did, and I am wearing some of those clothes and I also have bought some new ones. I never bought a lot of clothes. My style is very classic and I buy good quality pieces that I can use for many years.

72 years on my body. Obviously retired and some days I don’t leave this house. Comfort is key to me. I do most of my in-person shopping at resale or consignment shops. Closet decluttering is an ongoing task for me and I actually look forward to eliminating something from my closet, as there is one less article of clothing that doesn’t work for me hanging in my closet or folded in my dresser drawers. I’m pretty picky now before I purchase something. And I totally with you on the cost-per-wear way of thinking.

This video really spoke to me. From losing 80 lbs on WW last year and needing an entire new wardrobe, to being a remote worker full time, having things be all wonky (women know what I mean with that), I want comfort but stylish, and things that are timeless (and affordable). I could go on and on. Thank you so, so much for this video. It really met me where I am & to help guide me where I want to be.

Really enjoyed this, thank you. You make some very important points! I'm 49 and my body has changed a lot in the past two years, so I'm struggling to define what my style is. But I feel I'm finally getting there. I do have a habit of hanging on to some items that I never really wear, believing that I'm going to wear them on holiday some day. But of course, I am not going to magically change into a different person because I'm travelling 😅. You've inspired me to take a fresh look at what's in my wardrobe today!

While I go through my rapidly growing kids closets fairly often I do mine much less. I went back to working outside the home about 18 months ago and so I’ve recently been re-finding my style. Last week I went through my own closet and got rid of (via donation) so much. And boy do I feel lighter!

I will be 70 in August. I am retired. I have far too many clothes in two closets and several drawers. Since I seldom leave the house anymore, I also wear less than a fourth of the clothes that I own. I do travel at least once a year, so I look for clothing with travel in mind. I am totally overwhelmed when I open my closets to find outfits for when I do go out and I often wear the same thing in-house for two or more days at a time. I admit that I need help with purging, especially since the majority of my clothes are less than six months old. I bought clothes last year with every intention of wearing them, but I have become a homebody with no social life. I thought I would be travelling more after I retired because I did so much travelling before I retired. The plans haven't worked out so well. I have a full-time job now, cleaning out my closets. 😂. Thank you for sharing this video and helping me face my new reality.

But I'm so proud of you and the fact that you're working so hard to find your path for this next phase of life is amazing. Great video, Jen! My issue is expanding on the style I love. I just turned 52 and I feel like there is no in between. Clothes are either too young or too aging, thereby limiting. I can’t stand Loft, Talbots, Chicco’s, Black/white Market. I bought a very similar navy striped sweater like yours and the gals at Nordstrom’s did a horrible job of putting it together. I brought it home, redid the whole outfit with a great fitting pair of jeans, casually rolled up hem, a kitten heel, a chunky gold chain, and an LV clutch. I can then take that same outfit, pair with Gucci sneakers, with a crossbody bag. So cute but again, it’s the same thing, duplicated over multiple outfits. I need to expand! 😩😁
