@@MisterChubz Same. Born in 93. Hate the country as it is now. In some ways it's better (mainly in equality amongst people), but economically it's a dump compared to back then. Or so it seems, being that I wasn't alive to experience it. There was so much more personality and style back then.
It must have been so cool to have grown up in a house where the father actually sang to his children. I never once heard my dad sing. But my Mom sang like a bird, and she sang enough for him too. Parents who sing create happy families. God bless them all.
crni hasanovic I wish I could experience those days.. but it is what it is, God wanted me to be born in the current generation, and God always knows best
E.N. Dangledick Oh yeah, the 50s were great. Sure, they were beating and hosing black people in the street for wanting to be treated fairly, but the 50s were great. Oh, and you might have just lost many family members in ww2, but that's fine. Oh, and the country is involved in the Korean war, but that's fine. The music is all that matters. Also there was no polio vaccine until 1955, so those first 5 years may be a little rough, but that's fine.
+ThatGuyBradley That is pretty pessimistic.... I lived in the 50'S...it wasn't all bad, life was simpler...we were evolving into the rebels of the 60's....
Nightmare On Elm Street (2010) introduced me to this song and the brothers. I know most fans hate that film but I quite like it and I always thank it for introducing me to one of the best songs I’ve ever heard along with a great duo!
I grew up listening to music like Everly Brothers, The Beatles, Roy Orbison, The Byrds all thanks to my parents. Listening to them now really brings me back to when I was a kid.
The Everly Brothers inspired me to get into music. They are truly amazing. I'm a teen now and I have always loved the old music since I was a small child and up. When I was 4 I got into the Everly brothers. I couldn't thank my Grandad enough for all the old music he has showed me. Personally I prefer older music because back then there was no outo tune or anything like that so you know it's the real deal and real talent coming from these angels. I will never stop listening to these. Thank you for taking the time to read this and have a wonderful day/night and I wish you the best of luck. Goodbye for now 💕😄
The EVERLY BROTHERS pulled me away from the complicated Simon & Garfunkel hot songs and we came back to the EB STRONG CATCHY HOOKS. AS SONGWRITER NOW MY WINNING SONGS ARE EVERLY INFLUENCED!
I cry every time I hear this song. I remember my mom listening to "The Oldies" and we would sing along to this song. This song was special for me and her. She passed away 20 years ago. Whenever I need you Mom, all I have to do is dream.
First heard this song on Mafia 2 and loved it back then. Now heard it again on Dr. Strange new trailer and brought back all the memories. Such an iconic song man❤

Summer of 97. It was Sunday evening and i was 6 years old. My Grandfather and I were in his garage playing with his antique train set that he had just finished repairing. As the sun was setting this song came on the radio. My grandfather passed away 2 years ago. This song always brings back the memory of that day, 18 years ago.
I think I heard this song when I possibly around 3 or 4. I always have had the tune in the back of my mind, it's the kind of memory that you don't really know is there, but it always has been. I remember hearing this song again when I was around 20, and I knew at that time that I knew the song, even though I could've sworn that I never had heard it before. It was like a distant memory suddenly flooding back, reminding me of other times in my youth that I had totally forgot about. That time I heard it again when I was 20, was 13 years ago. And being a toddler, maybe 3 or 4, was almost 30 years ago. How time flies, how time flies.....
sorry about the loss, but it is always amazing how the human mind will key in on a moment in time that otherwise has no meaning. Be happy in your memories of him. This song has always been a favorite of mine from the time it came out. One of the first songs I actually danced slowly with the opposite sex.
the thing about this first era of rock is, it doesn't judge you. it's not trying to show off for you. it's just there to make you feel better if you're sad, and even happier if you're there
@@FallenRaze Not just that, rock these days isn't the same anymore. It's usually people just screaming at this point and yeah ik metal exist too but I think rock music has changed alot.
the thing about the 50's & 60's music era is that it was plain & Simple, usually told a story, you could understand every word, and more than half of the artists were popular stars that you just loved to listen to. there were a lot of one hit wonders but a lot of those songs were some of your favorite songs. I was 14 in 1958 and grew up with a front row seat to live those two glorius decades. they will never be repeated!!!!!!!!!!
The Day I brought my dad home from the hospital his dying wish was to pass in his living room with his wife and kid's with his car parked outside the window. During his last breath and final goodbye this song played on our TV.. It will always be his spirit passing us his message.... 😢
Such a wonderful way to go....unless you love cars, you will not understand. But my wish when I am gone is for them to take my ashes, put them on the blacktop, pour on some alcohol, get that sweet ride on top of said ashes, slap that bitch down and burn some rubber for my final lap👍🏻 Made sure my muscle cars go to my bestie who can still rip n strip the 1/4 mile. Ohhh. The fun we had!!

I hope you find the peace in heaven that you so desperately searched for here on earth, but could'nt find. Rest in paradise Lulu. And when ever i want you, all i have to do is Dream.
Yeah it's really hard having a family member with dementia. They ask you the same questions multiple times when you see them and it can get annoying, but we still put up with it because it isnt their fault.
I can only imagine what it would’ve been like to grow up when these songs were being released, such a beautiful and true era when everyone had a purpose. I’m tired of this plastic world we live in today :(
The music from that era was great, don’t get me wrong, but it’s kind of exhausting seeing these kinds of comments on songs which I genuinely like and if you’re tired of the music these days you’re probably looking in the wrong place.
I agree. It's so good to see the Everly Brothers being remembered... It would be so good if Phil was here with Don... "ECNR Empire Central Radio, this is Rockin'Ricky Fox!"
My mom listened to this song alot.. But growing up I didn't realize how terminally sick she was with cancer. It was a long battle. I was finally informed about her battle with cancer when I was in highschool. I got to spend my mother's last few days beside her in her hospice. It hurt watching her leave, but it was also reassuring knowing she isn't struggling anymore. I heard this song again today for the first time in awhile and I thought about mom. I wish it was easier than just a "dream"... I wasn't done enjoying my time with her...💔😭😣
I hear you! My Mom passed away in May 9th. 2020. I dreamt of her a lot. She knows how to comeback to live to be with me in my dream. I also ask for her to come back with me through my dream and she did that same night.

Improved lyric sheet. dream, dream dream dream- dream, dream dream dream when I want you, in my arms when I want you, and all your charms whenever I want you all I have to do, is dream dream dream dream when I feel blue, in the night and I need you, to hold me tight whenever I want you all I have to do, is dream - I can make you mine taste your lips of wine anytime, night or day , only trouble is.. geewhiz I'm dreaming my life away I need you so, that I could die I love you so, and that is why whenever I want you all I have to do is dream dream dream dream dream-- I can make you mine taste your lips of wine anytime, night or day , only trouble is.. geewhiz I'm dreaming my life away I need you so, that I could die I love you so, and that is why whenever I want you all I have to do is dream dream dream dream dream-- dream dream dream dream-- dream dream dream dream-- -----------> I used the lyrics in the description,I touched them up so they have the correct amount of Dream repeat in it and also is has some punctuation so you know when to pause. That song is perfect.
Its simply flawless.
There is not a fraction of a second that isn't bliss. Just flawless.
My dad named me after this song, he died when I was 6 years old. I love you dad 🖤
That is lovely.
Dream would be a great name for one of those Kardashian babies.
Such a precious name ❤️
He named you.....dream?

When I was kid in the 1950s and then a teen in the 1960s I loved these songs. I'm so sad. My eyes are just filled with tears. Thanks guys for wonderful music and great memories.
Dang man this makes me think abt 2010s 🥲
Don’t be sad it’s over smile that happened you was part of something magical, it does feel sad it’s over but but those wonderful memories will last forever! All you have to do is dream ☺️
This makes me so nostalgic for a time I didn’t live in. I was born in 1998 but I wish I grew up in the 50s and 60s (minus the racism)
@@MisterChubz Same. Born in 93. Hate the country as it is now. In some ways it's better (mainly in equality amongst people), but economically it's a dump compared to back then. Or so it seems, being that I wasn't alive to experience it. There was so much more personality and style back then.
Yeah when I was a teenager and I grew up with these guys they were like the younger version of The Righteous Brothers
One of the greatest duos of all time
RIP Don Everly. Timeless artist that comes only once in a while.. busy dreaming now ❤️
My dad, who just passed today used to sing this to me as a lullaby as a child, thinking about this song a lot.
It must have been so cool to have grown up in a house where the father actually sang to his children.
I never once heard my dad sing. But my Mom sang like a bird, and she sang enough for him too.
Parents who sing create happy families. God bless them all.
Sweet dad. Sorry for your loss.
Rest In Peace to your dad. Such a tender memory.
So sorry to your loss my friend! I lost my dad in 2021 because of the COVID.

The Everly Brothers are back, just like old times. Their music will always be remembered. RIP Don and Phil.
Is it possible that I feel nostalgia for the time when I did not live?
yeah, a lot of people want to live in the 50's and 60's
crni hasanovic I wish I could experience those days.. but it is what it is, God wanted me to be born in the current generation, and God always knows best
sure why not
+Gregory Moser Me too! Thank you mummy and daddy!
Gelukkig hebben we jullie muziek en al de herinneringen!✝️😥☁️🌈🌠
Such amazing harmony. Just beautiful.
This is not a song. This is art.

+Rick Elkin life is strange. You never know when a memory is being made!
+mark rechter that's right! it's scary to think about but yet it makes you take it all in cuz someday you might remember it like it was yesterday
interesting how music brings back the most random memories with loved ones
I was born 40 years after this mega-hit. I am listening this day, August 18, 2022. Good music never dies. What a master-piece.

This song is just perfect. So dreamy and relaxing. ☺️
A better example of theirs is Love hurts its a little slower, softer and gives like a soothing sensation
They don’t make music of this quality anymore sadly.
the thing about this first era of rock is, it doesn't judge you. it's not trying to show off for you. it's just there to make you feel better if you're sad, and even happier if you're there
Well said
Truth forget the 3 minute guitar solos they have these days kinda annoying to be honest

The music from that era was great, don’t get me wrong, but it’s kind of exhausting seeing these kinds of comments on songs which I genuinely like and if you’re tired of the music these days you’re probably looking in the wrong place.

The best songs appear to be older and shorter, full of quality and precision. No time is wasted.
Mostly because they couldn't fit it on the vinyl records at the time so most songs were around no more then 3 minutes.
Vengeful Softworks I have to disagree while this is a great short song a greater long song is Bohemian Rhapsody so it obviously depends on who's making it
WRONG-- I have some 45's that have 17 minutes on one side, others in the low 20's-- how long was "Inagoddavida"? Well over 10 minutes I'm pretty sure w/o looking it up
WRONG to EMDEE9296
In my country is just the opposite. Older songs were always like 8-10 minutes. Now they are 4-5 minutes.
