A Dream Came True: Home Made Full Auto Crossbow!

- When you make non gunpowder weapons at home, you are usually restricted to single shot contraptions or manual repeaters at best. But of course the ultimate goal is to build a full auto machine gun style weapon!
That is by no means very easy. Muscle powered weapons are simply not quick enough for a true Brat-a-tat action. Gas powered engines are too heavy and clumsy for a portable weapon.
Of course there are modern battery drills - plenty of torque in small packages, lightweight and affordable. It makes sense to use those as power sources. But how to turn rotational motion into a linear cocking process?
We finally, at last, had success using a rack and pinion mechanism. The wooden gears had to be reinforced with massive aluminum for a reliable operation, but the result is very convincing.
It is a reality - true machine gun feeling!

@@Zamolxes77 a chainsaw has a very high rpm, so if you make the gearbox with a large translation it will work, just shoot a bit slower

important tip, shift the angle of the bolt holding part from the top of the weapon to a horizontal angle, the rubber bands will still pull the bolts in and you can then attach a scope to greatly improve aiming.

In my country, this would be classified as a crossbow if anything since you need a chemical reaction for it to be a firearm.
So, it falls under the same category as swords, meaning I can own one and use it on private property, just not carry it.
I can, however, carry a bow and arrows so long as the arrows/arrowheads aren't sharpened with the clear goal of causing injury.
Which means I can carry a bow with blunt arrows in public and even carry a mini bow with sharpened projectiles that don't classify as arrows like throwing darts you'd use in the bar game.
Now, if I can figure out how to sharpen arrowheads is a way that isn't remotely clearly intended to cause injury, I have properly exploited the loopholes on that front.
Haha please make a version for IKEA pencils so you can enjoy free ammunition :D

This is a multi part comment. First and foremost, we should never hang out. Your ideas and my shop would blend seamlessly. Second, we should never hang out and drink. Third, if you had a 'Y' intersection just below your magazine that allowed for left and right bolt distribution, you could have a double sided cam and setup 2 barrels timed 180 degrees apart. You could effectively double the output without doubling the RPM of the driver. You may have just given me my next project. Thank you for that. More material for my channel. and the weapon can change every couple of weeks... and the ultimate is the bowling ball launcher that instantly kills anything it hits, with the ult call being "LET ME SHOW YOU ITS FEATURES" and every kill you get a "HAHAHAHAHA"

IDK about the weapon changing every couple of weeks since they wouldn't want to spend time doing that but I would love to see him as a character with a pencil shooting mini-gun. That would be awesome.
The weapon could have exactly the same stats every time, just change skins, animations, sounds etc. Would be totally wicked.
