I'm glad you didn't say you saw them 'live' in 78 etc. Does my head when people say they saw such and such live in wherever. Always say in reply, "As opposed to what, on the telly?"
I loved how the ending of the album version of Destination: Venus just went on and on! Really passionate. Jo Callis kicked ass on guitar (I met him in 1983 and fanboyed all over him, much to his discomfort, I think). Gutted that the eventual firsl CD of the Rezillos included the debut album AND the live album but not the live version of Destination: Venus....! Fuxxake!! Talk about the sheer amount of energy generated here!
OGWT had some fabulous performances over the years, too many to name really. But offhand, The Jam in '78, Teardrop Explodes and Japan in '82 and this amazing clip. The Rezillos album was a massive fave of mine in the late seventies and early eighties, still is. But I never saw them live. Jo Callis' guitar sound was amazing on that LP. Great to see this again (and again!). Cheers.
I saw the Rezillos in early 2015 on the US wing of their reunion tour. I met Fey Fife before the show. (Luv that Scottish accent!) She was very friendly and happy to sign my "Can't Stand" LP...
Just LOVE the Rezillos, one of the best punk/new wave bands ever.... a band that produced possibly THE finest debut album of any of their contemporaries!
What a brilliant quote - 11 and a half out 10. The visuals, the overall set. One of my favourite bands from the punk era. It's great people like you bring the Rezillos to light to the present day. Thank you so much.
Did you know it takes light from Venus two minutes thirteen seconds to reach earth. It takes light from our nearest star over four years to reach earth. Mind blown!
THEY SOUND LIKE THE FUCKING 70"S WHO !!!! SO MUCH GNARLY TONE OOOOZING OUT OF EVERY ONE OF THEM !!! What a treat they were / are !! And as another comment notes ...That's only one side of the stereo mix ! IT COULD BE EVEN BIGGER AND BADDER !!
Outrageously talented and criminally neglected. The World is in a bad shape without the Rezillos.
Scottish cramps tbh love it 😻 😊
‘Getting Me Down’ what a tune! 👌
Always superb live giving welcome music 🎸
Scottish cramps tbh love it 😻
So underrated!
I saw the Rezillos in 78 and the Revillos about 81 in Grangemouth, roll on 45 years, Glasgow 3 weeks ago at the O2 Academy just brilliant.

Saw them in 1978, so much energy and fun!

The guitar work reminds me of Wilko
Good band. Bought several of their singles. I like the guitar playing especially on good sculptures.
Love this band and this song just rocks.

You should check out Rattus IV, by the Stranglers.
@@nervopus2972 I bought it when it was released in April ‘77.
"Destination Venus".Marvellous song. The lyrics are slightly different here.
Well, their songs are ALL great.

I think we know where the b52s got their schtick.
class
wow,....wow...and....wow..
How fun they were, but as kids at the time it was scary to us.
Wow.
On the left Jo Callis (lead guitar), a future member of The Human League (the second line-up since 1981).
I've met him a few times. Nice guy. He used to drink in the same pub as me and I was introduced to him.
@@anonb4632 You are a lucky guy. 👍😉
he formed Shake
I have a crush on him..💓
That live 'getting me down' just makes me ache for 'ballroom blitz'
Fucking awesome! That mustuv givin auld Boab suhum to hink aboot!
Rezzilos: Punk Rock na cabeça
Brill bass player
Neat performance, despite some endearing rough edges. You can see they'd better-honed their stagecraft by this point.
Ah! They just don't make them like that any more!
True.

8 minutes from the sun.
@@anonb4632 .....which is , of course, for the hard of thinking, our nearest star.
If anybody has a recording of this that is not confined to the right stereo channel, please post ...it would be great to hear it.
Bit of a f888 up but tapes back in a box somewhere and can't be bothered to find it again.... Sorry!
@@TravisBickle1963 No wurriz...
New wave punk had so many Mod tones it could never be anything more than that, yet justifiably great all the same.
incredibly angry guitar tone. nice!
