The MP3 has a kickstand? (guess I'll see in a week or so) Don't know how many videos I've watched about MP3s with all kinds of discussion about the tilt locking mechanism, but yours is the first I've seen that even mentioned it has a kickstand. LOL
it's the rear stand that you use for maintenance, you wouldn't use it to stand the trike because it would be a real pita to put it on the rear stand every time
At this time I'm researching any mp3 400 / 500 issues before I buy one. Can someone knowledgeable about the issue with excessive blow-by oil residue entering the airbox explain if this is indeed a chronic issue? I've read that one person claims it is an issue with all the various displacements of the Piaggio's. I'm finding that is a bit hard to believe. Pls advise. Thanks Dean Seattle
Dean, I have both Mp3 250 and 500. The problems with blow-by oil is due to excessive oil level. If not due to oil level, most likely due to problems in piston ring. The 500 and 400 run at very high compression ratio, and is prone to detonation. Making matter worse, the engine doesn't have a knock sensor to correct the timing; the engine relies on lambda (oxygen) only. So crack ring was fairly common, especially on the 500 in the 2008 and 2009 year.
Please I am having a broken valve issue with my Piaggio 600, exactly this your type. I have tried getting but couldn't find it. Can you help me in any way. Your response will be greatly helpful. Thanks
U are wrong! JASO MA spec is for wet clutch spec .. witch u don't have it on your scooter.. JASO MB or regular car/truck oil is much better for the engine. And u are wrong with the 10w40 aswell.. piaggio requires 5w40 oil.
You determine the weight of your oil according to the region your riding in people that ride these in Canada will use a different weight than people that ride these in Florida just like cars trucks everything else you always determine weight according to region
@@addismultitasking3504 motorcicles with wet clutch are never gonna recomend car or truck oils.. but scooters dont have wet clutch , except a few. Piaggio has a colaboration wit ENI oil.. ex Agip and they only recomend Eni iride 5W40... Witch is imposible to find in most countries.. and imposible to find an oil with Aceea A3( car oil spec) and Jaso Ma ( motorcicle wet clutch spec). A car/truck oil with friction modifiers additives will be better for an engine.. but it will cause clutch to slip... Jaso MA is a compromise made for the clutch that u dont have... My Gilerra Nexus 500i 2004 ( 95% still same engine as mp3 ) has 43 000km On cheap 5w40 car oil.. changed at 2000km interval.
@@addismultitasking3504 How stubborn are you, that is not a motorcycle its a scooter engine and a CVT drive. You apsolutely dont need motorcycle oil with the friction aditives. A high quality car oil is better for the engine.

Why would you need to put it on the kickstand anyway? Just lock the suspension and leave the kickstand up? Or does it still interfere with it?

And I owned over 40 motorcycles and none of them ever say to use regular car or truck oil
