Your using Shell Rotella T6 motor oil in the scooter. Its formulated for diesel engines, but I noticed a lot of people are using this oil in their motorcycles. Why is this oil better than oil formulated for automotive gas engines or motorcycle's?
hey Mitch,,,scale 0-10 - what is Piaggio's reliability scale? How's about the maintenance? is it easy to DIY? I understand nothing runs forever (except Yamaha :))) jk) do you know at what mileage the Piaggion start falling a part (like required some replacement, repairs..) I rode Yamaha sport, R6, FZ and got into accident in 2015 and thinking to get back to riding to beat traffic again (405 freeway) so looking at Piaggio MP3 400 or 500 but worry about the reliability and mainteance. Thank you!
Just let it drain, i do mine tilted to the left side that way all the oil realy drains out. There is no need to suck oil out. Also when you put the new oil filter in, prefill it to the top, its better that way. And the oil screen I wash it with a bit of gas to get all the junk out if there is any, and let it dry good. 👌👌👌👌👌
use a metal or plastic jug where amount is readable on the side of it. use your mothers baking equipment, but dont tell her I said it. oh - be careful when you put back the filter, a little to much turning may destroy the threads in the aluminum engineblock. ThM - Norway

i surprised you use diesel engine oil shell rotella t6 is meant for heavy duty truck but it can be used for my scooter.
