    Thanks for the tour of the forest, it's absolutely amazing.
    It's interesting to see your plans for expanding and developing the area. The horses will enjoy the pasture and trail.
    Looking forward to seeing more 😀

    Yes owls will kill other birds. You can hear a Robin calling alarm. It must have babies near by, maybe on the ground. But the Robin could be upset because of you moving about out there. I noticed as you moved out of the forest the Robin stopped alerting. Interesting stuff. I like the new learning of Hemlock trees growing out of Cedar stomps. Cool stuff. Thanks for sharing this with us. Love to hear all the birds singing. Have a great day. Hug a horse for me!!!

    The owls are so beautiful 🦉, you are very lucky ! I never had the chance to see an owl in the wild. I always get superexcited when you have new extension plans for your property. I love watching the progress so I'm looking forward to the evolution of these new great ideas you got. In France it is awfully hot these days, the forest tour was refreshing even through the internet 😁. How pleasant it must be to retreat there a bit on hot summer days. Your place is really wonderful and you know how to make the best out of it in terms of ideas and technical know-how.

    I love it as it is so green, 🌿wild and lively with all sorts of creatures ! It's the nesting season, maybe the reason for seeing four owls, with immature youngsters.🦉 As nocturnal, they hunt at night, their vision is not too good during the day. I'm obsessed by toxic ferns, you have so many, they are gorgeous. You can have so enchanting trails in this jungle, with so much vegetation, old trunks covered with moss. I wouldn't be surprised if bears🐻 use some natural cavities as den during the winter. You are so lucky. Once you have completed this project, I'm sure you'll plan for another one. You are so creative, and never end. It's a lifetime job anyway. Maybe you could keep the little cabin as toilets for your clients. I discovered you have wood bison in the North. Congrats for phase 2 👏☘️🌱

      @@StableHorseTraining yes, it's a gorgeous nature ! In 360 would have been super too. All these organic material is so good, it regenerates the soils. I understand for the shed. In fact, I thought it was already installed.

      @martineinfrance 3 года назад

      @@pennywebb867 hi Penny ! Yes it looks like loo. I've no idea about the owl, they are far in the distance to see. But yes the two were perhaps youngsters quite ready to go. Difficult to see, they might also be males challenging each other for a female or a territory

    Wow! totally cool owls. I once saw an owl fly from one tree to another and it never made a sound! Their feathers are made so that they can find their food without any warning to their prey. Thanks for the tour!

    I had forgotten how large your forest property was. So beautiful and full of possibilities. As you were walking, I couldn't help but think how peaceful it would have been to have your house where forest is and the forest where your house is. Your house might have had to be on stilts though. LOL
    I'm a bird watcher but owls are elusive. It is supposed to be good luck to see one, but four...that's amazing. Martine and Kathy and others can jump in here with ID. I had trouble seeing coloring but from the call and size I know they were NOT barn or screech owls-their calls can raise you straight up into the air! I'm thinking barred owls, maybe parents and chicks.
    The first time I happened upon a barred owl I was meandering by myself through some woods, early morning, trying to spot migratory song birds so I was being super quiet and my binoculars were aimed up in the trees. I sighted the owl just staring at me, didn't blink, didn't move a feather. It was ethereal, took my breath away. So quiet. We watched each other for a good long while then it glided off, not a sound. I'll remember it forever. Just me and the owl.
    Haven't had a chance to watch all of the Bob videos yet but the ones I have seen are pretty funny. You amaze me. Where do you find the hours in the day to do all that you do? You are the energizer bunny, with a lot of stop and smell the roses attitude thrown in.
    Sorry about the negative commentor. I will always appreciate how you came to my defense one time. If we had seen negativity toward Martine, we would have felt the same way.
    Take care. Stay well. Am really enjoying watching Mr. Wilde grow; he really is going to make some one a fine horse. Am also enjoying watching David become the horseman he is destined to be. That's all for now. ❤

      Thank you and Join the club Penny, I often go bird watching with binoculars. I don't know North American species very much but it takes a bit of time to identify endemic species, migratory and semi-migratory ones (more difficult) . I can now recognize french birds with their different cries. Binoculars 10 x 50 and a good ref book are essential. Professional will use more sophisticated equipment but heavy to carry.
      My passion was born in East Africa with an ornithologist. African species are so numerous, they are extremely difficult to identify. All species round the world belonging to the same family depending on their location, have so much variety, that here in Europe they seem so limited. And the great concern is that they disappear together with the insects they feed on, due to man, pesticids, destruction of habitat, expansion of infrastructures etc. A tragedy for nature which jeopardises the food chain too.

    Oh that's amazing! I feel so happy for you and the horses. They're gonna love it! I've been wanting to suggest you to have a pasture for a while but, I didn't want to sound invasive or disrespectful. It's your property, after all. I love it! As a wannabe architect who loves nature, I dream of something like that.
    Yesterday I was asking myself if you had ever considered adding a pasture and I was going to draw something where the arena would have grass instead of sand. I thought the covered arena was the end of your property. In my head I had added grass to the paddock areas too but, today I've learned they have the purpose of keeping the hooves of the horseys dry. In the drawing, the arena would also have sort of an oval shape so the horses would not be cornered by another horsey.
    I had another idea too. I was wondering, just as food for thought, what would it look like to have all the paddock areas connected so all the horses could be together like in a herd. I guess because you have new horses now and then, you may not want to put them together at first.
    Anyways, I loved the good news!

    • @StableHorseTraining
      @StableHorseTraining  3 года назад +1

      Well, just raising the land a bit with all the organics. Even if it sinks to half it's current height, it'll still be above normal ground level to stay dry. On top will be road base, not crusher dust. The crusher dust is more expensive and only for the paddocks.
