Exactly what people don't get. These are just drills and exercises, but they can provide a good foundation. If you really want to learn how to fight, test your skills on a tire or a bag, find a partner to spar, and most importantly join a class.

When fighting Paul, shout the magic word, "backside", and strike while he's laughing!

Seems like these Kali drills could be combined with step excersises for endurance training (just a thought).

I have enjoyed this channel and this video is another great example. Seems like the older I get the more my training leans toward the art side of martial arts. The "dance" if you will. Not very likely I will get into a spear fight or a machete! Still, keeping these skills honed do more than prepare you for battle. Right on? Question is, does Kali have established kata/forms or is it more of a free form art? Also thanks again for what you are doing here and keeping it FUN!!

Thanks. I agree. The older I get the more meanings training has. Some Kali styles have forms, some shirt forms and other more of a call and response type drills. Most incorporate some kind of freelance training also.

First one is what majorettes do with their batons in marching bands.

Do you use a long staff or spear in Kali ? I noted a similarity between WC and HEMA in small tip movements at Max speed, control and power. Long staffs certainly condition the forearms and wrists.

If this is not for fighting people, I'll try it on mosquitoes. 🦟💥
