as a drummer, some part isn't possible, so it's sound weird at 0:05 but the groove is interesting ! Keep it up ! Drums tips : your ride is a 1/4 and your charleston is a 1/3, so if u want to create an cool effect (with your snare) you should play your kick as a 1/2 and your snare as a "free stroke" (but you already did it ) But, if you're not a drummer, u have in my opinion a fu'ck'ng good sens of rythm, because some parts are perfectly linked each others, that's impressive !
I'm sorry but I didn't understand a single word you said 😭 These drum terms are wild haha. What do you mean by "1/4" on ride for example? What is a free stroke? Is charleston the real name of the hi-hat ?? I'm not a drummer myself but I find the instrument really interesting and I always want to improve on my drum midi :D Could you explain why the part at 0:05 isn't possible? Is it because you can't play the snare part with a single hand or??
@@Tides16001 (im frensh my english isn't good, but i'll try to help you) Charleston is the real name for hi-hat, u got it 👌👌 1/4 or 2/3, 1/3 5/6, whatever, are fraction... When you are creating some patterns on your pianoroll (even if its drums) you have some straight lines that's help you to create your own pattern right ? So... when you enbaled the tick counter (BPM) you can hear 4 lil tick before a louder one right ? Like when you are playing a real instrument u have to count 1,2,3,4 and 1,2,3,4 again.... (2 bar). So when your kick hit each tick you have a 1/4 rythm why ? because you hits each tick (1,2,3,4) so u have 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 +1/4 = 1 (one bar) like u did to your ride What a free stroke ??? Its a lil bit more complicated xD... but your snare should be played with ghost note (lowest velocity) and drummers love to play them with poly rythms : 1/3, 5/2, 5/4 to complicate the drum pattern. So we called free stroke, when the snare is in a "freedom" situation (separate with kick and hihat and ride and toms). TIPS FOR YOUR FUTURE MIDI : keep in mind that drums is played with 2 legs and 2 warms ( yeaahh its weird) SO when you hit 5 differents things at the same time u will hurt drummers hears 😂😂😂😂because its impossible (btw : i love your content)
@@cozmoz6011 thanks for the reply! Yes i know that drummers only have 2 legs and 2 arms and this should be completely possible to play! I always look at if things are possible to play for realism :) I’ve seen some crazy things on drums and this should definetely be possible. The free stroke thing with snare sounds very interesting and is definetely something i want to work on more. I use ghost notes but not in a specific kind of pattern that you are describing and i hesr them a lot in the music i listen to, so i really want to work on that haha! Also your english isn’t terrible, you just used drumming terms i didn’t understand.
@@Tides16001 No worries ! 🙌🙌 its not possible, it can be only if u change the sound of your chalerston by a open/close sound (that we do with our left foot). U can't hit snare as a "free stroke" + ride + hi hat at the same time. And yeah there are crazy things on drums, but just because it sounds harder doesn't mean it is. I tryed your pattern on my drum kit ( and wow u made a freaking great groove) , but the first part is impossible to do ! Except if im playing the hi hat with my left leg (Open/Close). I mean, the rest is perfect
@@cozmoz6011 oh i thought you would think that the hi-hat during the ride section would be a stick hit but it’s hit using the foot pedal. The higher note in the middle section is a pedal hit and the ones below that are open / half open and the lowest one would be a closed hat.
