Ripp has had a ton of problems with their JT/JL High Performance Coil Packs going bad around 5k-5.5k miles. I installed mine into my JT when my rig had 550 miles and ran fine until I reached 6k miles. I was at the hardware store, not off-road on a trail Thankfully, when I had a Ripp Coil Pack go bad and sent my JT into limp mode misfiring terribly. Swapped back to the OEM Coil Packs and instantly the misfire went away and all engine codes cleared. They replaced my coil pack set but I'm still rocking the OEM packs because of reliability and that scared me so much I can't trust them to be far from home or off-road on a trail in the middle of nowhere so they are still in the box sitting on a shelf.
That is another epic video you guys, the install video was awesome. you guys should of did a dyno before and after to see what the real gains were compared to stock!! But overall awesome video, I'm willing to bet that the difference from stock is noticeable.
8 days ago you said the motor went boom💥! Did you have too much boost for the 3.6? I was really thinking about adding a RIPP to my JL but after reading your latest comment I think I’ll look for something different. Would Edelbrock be a safe option. I don’t have enough $ for a new engine.
I also have a 2021 Mojave with 37s. Added a Borla Atak which sound great. Currently deciding wich ratio I should go for regear and which supercharger. Can you share why the Ripp and not the Magnuson supercharger? Looks like the Ripp is far more diffivult to install than the Magnuson. However, Magnuson does not to my knowledge sell the injectors, matching tuner, spark plugs, COI or the coil packs. Did that factor much in your decision? Looking forward to the dyno numbers.
We chose Ripp for multiple reasons, after talking with both companies we felt the Ripp was better suited for the type of driving we are going to use this Jeep for and Magnuson would be better suited for racing. Also I didn’t want an additional electric coolant pump either to keep track of. We personally know multiple customers of our that had JKs with Ripp Superchargers installed with well over 100,000kms with absolutely no issues. Those are only some of our reasons. We also like that Ripp is a proper complete package in our opinion compared to some of the other brands currently out there.
The Magnuson Supercharger Kit includes new fuel injectors and just like Ripp they recommend replacing your spark plugs if you have more than 5k miles on them.
@@TheEPICBeardedGinger thanks for sharing the factors that influenced your decision and for the great content. Looking forward to see the rest of the build. TY

Magnuson SuperChargers Rock! They make OEM quality kits and I don't know if they still do but they have been an OEM supplier in the past and that alone speaks volumes!

Is that a hot air intake! SAWEET! Should be fantastic out on the trails sucking all the dust into the filter! Should be really easy getting high octane at these remote gas stations 😆
The filter has a sock on it to protect it from water and debris when on the trails, and for the air the hood vent is fully open now and we have plans in the works to customize this setup
