  • @gvsskier5011

    I installed a Magnuson SC Oct 2020 on my ‘20 Gladiator Sport 6 speed. I have changed gearing to 4:56, 35” tires, 2” factory Fox lift. The installer is a Calgary AB based reseller and installer of Magnuson SC. I am on tune #9. I am not an overlander or rock crawler. I drive a lot of mountain hwys in BC/AB asphalt and dirt. The best performance is on hwy passing from 90kmh to 140kmh with RPM btw 4,000 and 6,000. The worst is mid range pulling up a mtn road, like a ski hill, where the engine will hiccough and stumble. I’ve also had some scary instances passing in 4whl high snowy roads and the computer cuts power. I can not recommend this modification after 16 months. I will be contacting Ginger to seek help.

    Having the 2.7 TT Ecoboost option in the Bronco is what made me choose Ford over Jeep.
    I dont regret it, my Badlands is very quick with 35s and I have tons of simple bolt ons that will allow me to work up to about 500 lbft of torque

    NIce Video Casey. Got a Question on Superchargers for your tech buddy. How well do they add power at LOWER RPM's? You know, when off roading and crawling? Also has Ginger had experience with other brands of superchargers, like Magnuson for example? I drive a 2020 2 door manual trans Rubicon w/ 5.13 gears running 37" tires and find the 3.6 a slug at lower RPM's (lower than 2.5K), and pick up does not really set in until l get above 3k RPM's. My Holley CAI and Magnaflow cat back rock crawler exhaust helped a little, but the low RPM latency and sluggish power is still very noticeable.

    • @MikeSmith-ey7ku
      @MikeSmith-ey7ku 2 года назад

      You want a roots style supercharger for low end like an edelbrock.it will make full boost at like 2k. A centrifugal like this blower builds boost with rpm so it won’t make full boost till the top of the rev range. Either style will be cool on the street

    • @rodgood
      @rodgood 2 года назад

      You can add a heavier flywheel to help low rpm response , but my only cure was to get rid of it .

      @David Peters the Magnuson, Edelbrock, and Ripp superchargers all beat the 3.6's internals to hell.
      Everyone I've talked to that has supercharged their 3.6 Pentastar has developed a rod knock after a couple thousand miles after installation.
      If you add boost to a naturally aspirated engine, you need forged internals to survive. Besides most of these bolt on superchargers only run 8 to 10psi anyway, and you won't see much of a power gain until you crank the boost up a bit.

    • @MEOIT83

    Hi! I'm running a RIPP high boost setup with the big intercooler, coilpacks, and catch can, like you. I'm also running water/methanol injection on top of it and I tuned her up on HP tuners. I managed to add boatloads of timing and picked up lots more power at the same boost levels. Plus I get the cooling benefits of the WMI, which is why I really wanted it. I have been running the supercharger for 2 years and the WMI for 1 year. It runs beautifully. So, I actually got the chance to race 2 392's on the street! I bet you never thought you'd hear a Jeep guy say that! Man, off the line I wasn't willing to launch the crap out of my manual transmission that hard because I would smoke my clutch. The 392 from a dead stop is ridiculous. Buuuuuut, I got to run one from low speed on the highway and there's NOTHING in it. My 3.6 SC WMI must be putting out roughly the same HP numbers or maybe more HP and definitely less torque than the 392. But, for like $8k I'll take it...that 392 is bananas expensive but she definitely scoots. Our SC setups can't match those torque figures...but we can get bananas HP out of it and our little V6 can compete!!!

    • @haleylaronde
      @haleylaronde Год назад

    Great video Casey. Really enjoyed the walk around and the test drive. The Ginger has a really cleanly put together Mohave and the RIPP install really seems to fit nicely into the build, especially with all the custom tuning he's done to improve the drivability. I'm a new subscriber because I've enjoyed your laid back and casual approach to your videos. Keep em coming man.

      His entire powertrain warranty becomes voided as soon as the supercharger was installed, but not anything that is unaffected by that or any other modifications that were done.

    Way too expensive. My goodness you can almost get a 2500 6.6 duramax for what that little piece of shit costs! I can’t believe how dumb people are with money. Manufacturers offer them shit and they are willing to pay gobs of money for it!!! Then you need to modify the dam thing to make it functional!!! Good grief..

    GME-T6 will soon fill the power plant gap this platform desperately need.
    The 3.6 is anemic , and the diesel will be a headache after warranty.
    I’d rather have 5.7 at a reasonable price
    But Jeep refuses .

    If you really desire the power gain, save your money for a V8 upgrade of some sort. Supercharging the 3.6 is not the smartest idea for longevity unless you deal with the internals and at that point it makes 0 sense to dump that much money into that motor lol.

  • @chris1293

    I did the Ripp on my 09’ JKUR. The manual didn’t say anything about running heavier motor oil. I wonder if it’s something I should do.
    My only complaint with the RIPP is I get this mild power surging when cruising on the highway with little load on the motor. I can see on the surge on the boost gauge too. Other then that I’ve been super happy with the power upgrade.

    as we all know, there is no free lunch and there is no free energy (Einstein said that...). so if you "super charge" something, wouldn't it effect the life of the engine and all the other components link to it? as you running it much hotter and in much higher pressure than the 15,000 engineers that design it intended? which expand why it will void warranty...

    • @Casey250
