I really liked some but the aesthetics are too disney and clean for me, the original had a more dark style to it.

@@Magnurion Arthas: Rise of the Lich King, Book is from 2009, Chronicles 2018 so is thus considered cannon.... besides, Uther was always realy strong lorewise, and is an older character than Arthas in the setting, a Veteran-character, Arthas himself wasnt even that strong without Frostmourne.
@@Magnurion Well I heard about the book, and it still admits that Arthas could have lost if it wasn't for frostmourne, making Warcraft 3 depictions a bit closed to the established canon. I mean in the game he is a difficult hero to take down and Arthas can't conveniently win against Uther single handedly.

If Warcraft 3 reforged did something like this with the cinematics I think people would be much happier besides it's what they advertised in 2018
I mean, the map was just a reference to a reference. The main selling point was in the cutscene.
Check out Re-Reforged. Some fans are doing the work that was supposed to be done on Wc3, and I have to be honest its looking pretty good.

Hands down Arthas’s story is one of the best tragic ones Warcraft can offer
Well yes, it's a tragedy. The only one in the game as the other campaigns seem like they go into tragedy path but then put a bittersweet ending.

@ Level is a sketchy part of lore in this instance anyway. I mean, Arthas was a max level Paladin before he became a Death Knight; the fact that he loses all those levels after the class switch is kind of weird.

Also so glad you didn't have Arthas legit beat Uther, in game he only won cos he had a small army with him and here it was because Uther's mercy and love for Arthas let him be distracted, both are much more fitting than Arthas winning legitimately, kudos on the epic effects!

I wouldn't be worried about Blizzard doing better. The rumor is that they'll just be using the old flat camera cutscenes with the new models. We'll see!

Daaamn, this was like the Star Wars Sc38 remaster with the Master/Apprentice stare-down and past dialogue between the two. Nice touch and great edit.
This moment in Warcraft, still brings so many emotions, years and years after, the impact hasn't lessened one bit.
Just wish Blizzard had the fcking integrity, and spine to have held up their promise, on making reforged better with cutscenes and graphics, not the shit show it turned out to be, nor their current products

In the novel old Uther was actually having the upper hand in the duel and impressed Arthas so much that he even had split second doubts about his path. He needed the power of Frostmourne to overpower the old Paladin.
I wonder what they will do with him in Shadowlands.

The only part I would change is when Uther is talking about hoping there's a place in hell for Arthas. He delivers the line as if he barely notices the sword through his middle. He doesn't look like he's in pain at all. I know he says that line after you kill him in the campaign, but still. Anyway, great work. I wish Blizzard had half the passion you do for the series.
Fun fact : Invincible was one of the only signs that Arthas was still there as he was the only one who had free will in his entire army.

I don't think he had complete free will. It's clearly stated his soul was consumed when he picked up Frostmourne. He was more a vessel at this point for Ner'Zhul, tho not completely merged yet until he actually puts on the helm of dominator. He would never destroy Lordaeron if he had complete free will. But there has always been a part of Arthas left. It shows when he revived Invincible, when he kept Jaina's locket, and when it's stated that it's all that keeps the Scourge from annihilating Azeroth.

W3 has one of the best stories of all time. Not just the best warcraft story, nor video game story, just flat out story. An RTS game with a story better than most RPG games.

I am a huge fan of old WarCraft 3, and all the story that it has and maan, if cutscenes in reforged actually looked like this and blizzard added some new scenes that are described in chronicles (like in this video, where Uther hesitated), I swear, I would replay that game atleast 30 times. What potential did it have.. 😞

True fact for the franchise.
I remember this scene in the books. When Arthas was laying on the ground, he dropkicked Uther in the stomach, which catched the Paladin by suprise. Arthas learned that trick from Muradin as a child, since, in Uthers words "such rude behavior in battle doesnt fit a Paladin".
I even dropped a tear, it was beautiful.
