    Both nice however I prefer the Omega. Very happy to live in a world where they both exist.

    I don't understand the negative bias towards the Pelagos. Everyone is like "yeah, good watch. It sucks"
    I happen to own one and I really love it. -1 sec a day and hasn't move a bit. He is not flashy and this is one of the reasons I love it. As for the SMP I like the white one.

    Have both, for an everyday watch I prefer the Pelagos hands down, for a bit of dress up or bling the SM. If I could only keep one I’d keep the pelagos. I won’t speak to the bracelets as I wear both on their rubber straps.

    This video couldn't have come at a better time. I'm trying to decide between Pelagos, SMP 300 or Planet Ocean 43.5. Thanks! I think I may go with the Tudor. It was my dream watch forever.

    Excellent round up Brad, thanks. I guess it comes down to whether you want a bling or tool look on your diver. I like the Pelagos for its bracelet and titanium finish.
    I'm more of a bling guy, so prefer the Seamaster with the beautiful wave dial and ceramic bezel (I have just bought the black dial version again for the third time, being a flipper is a terrible habit). The colour matched date wheel on the Seamaster is a plus too. If they revise the Seamaster this year, I would like to see a bigger crown.

      @@rossdev orrrr you don’t sell the seamaster anymore and flip other watches😁 I have the black seamaster as well. Still my favorite watch. I have a green dial superocean heritage incoming so it has to share my wrist a bit more the coming months.
      Also I think you are correct with the more shiny seamaster and toolwatch Tudor. I don’t like the tudors that much but I know others who love them. To each there Own. I like a bit of bling ( but not too much )
      Also the rubber omega strap is really expensive but worth every penny. Makes the watch even more beautiful and comfortable ( imho)

      @@rutgerv.6050 Breitling is another favourite brand of mine, and a green dial is great to have in the collection. Funny that I traded both of my Superocean 42's for the Seamaster. However I still have the new model Superocean which gets a lot of wrist time. I do like the Omega rubber strap, mine is coming with the deployant clasp too, so looking forward to that.

    Thank you for your video. Omega is a good watch. But I don't like the glossy part of the steel, the bezel shape and bracelet design. They make the watch more like dressy rather than diver's. So at the end, my dream watch is still Tudor.

  • @robertlock6041
    @robertlock6041 Год назад +1

    Hi Brad, another intriguing comparison here... For you and me (17cm wrist) the Pelagos 39 or Aqua Terra make more sense because of the lug to lug measurement. Alternatively there's the Black Bay 58. Of the two watches here I'd go for the Pelagos, but not with my money. Sinn has demonstrated conclusively that a 500m dive watch doesn't need to be bulky or have a helium escape valve, so both this Omega and the Tudor are inadequate from an engineering perspective... Anyway, this isn't to say that these are bad watches, they're not: but they seem to be more design led than function led. Anyway, have a good weekend bud, what's left of it, and roll on the next one! 😀

    • @nightstalker824
      @nightstalker824 Год назад +3

      Yeah, but at the end of the day, a Sinn is still a Sinn. Shoddy bezel action rocking a $60 movement. Look at Tag Aquaracers from years ago. 500m with a small footprint. I don't think these brands can't engineer a smaller watch, it's just that they choose not to. I like Sinn, so no hate. I think the pelagos is great. It wears a bit masculine, but yet light weight and manageable.

    • @robertlock6041
      @robertlock6041 Год назад +1

      @@nightstalker824 Fair comment, but you haven't explained why both Tudor and Omega found the need to fit a helium escape valve whereas Sinn has demonstrated with the U1, U2 and U50 that when properly designed a deep dive watch doesn't need one.

    • @nightstalker824
      @nightstalker824 Год назад +2

      @Robert Lock like I said before, I believe these brands are just trying to put every "bell and whistle" on these watches. As if they are trying to say they are true Saturation divers. I know Seiko doesn't need one either. If Sinn, Breitling, Victorinox, Invicta etc., etc., can make 500 meter divers without HEVs, then I'm sure Tudor and Omega can...

    • @robertlock6041
      @robertlock6041 Год назад

      @@nightstalker824 Fair comment Mr Stalker, I do like the Pelagos actually, particularly the FXD, and the Seamaster isn't too shabby either. They're a bit big for me though, as although I would swim with them I don't dive or wear a wetsuit.
      Anyway, the manufacturers seem to be doing something right, because they're really popular watches, and they get really good reviews...
      Have a good week... 👋

    Beautiful watches, what grade titanium is the Tudor? , on the 39 mm I was disappointed to find out the use grade 2 , apparently grade 5 is the superior choice. Any way the omega is a class above the Tudor in my opinion, looks it as well, metas certified ceramic dial , the Tudor micro adjustment looks over complicated to me. 😊 also highly anti magnetic 🧲

    I mean, the Pelagos is a fine watch albeit overpriced- but it does not belong anywhere near the Seamaster in a comparison. That Omega is a order of magnitude better looking and higher quality. This is not a fair comparison

  • @jontaylor5407

    I bought this Tudor 3 weeks ago. It goes very well casually or with sports jacket. The Omega is more dressy, but I have other watches for that purpose, so that wasn't a consideration. I do not like that bulky looking escape valve on the Omega. I love the weight of Ti watches and the Tudor is no exception. So far I am very happy with the Tudor and the price I paid.

  • @nyancorp
    @nyancorp Год назад +3

    The Tudor is cheating by using cheap stainless steel in the clasp and the bottom plate. Therefore it is not hypoallergenic and it is heavier than the bigger Omega Plant Ocean in Titanium. I don‘t understand why they are doing this, because even my cheap Casio watches are entirely made of Titanium and not only on the visible parts.
    I would always prefer the Omega. Especially because you may get it with a nice discount whereas the Tudor even on the Gray market is sold at retail price or higher. So for the same money Omega is the better choice.

    Great matchup - usually the Seamaster gets compared to the Sub but perhaps this is the more appropriate competitor in the Pelagos. To me, the SM is just too flashy and shiny - the big wave dial, shiny bezel, big HEV, skeleton hands. Omega probably has the advantage in the movement tech, but aesthetics are with the Tudor.

    Tudor please. I don't understand why Omega keep making the scalloped bezel, why make something that's inconvenient/annoying to use? Personally I'm not a fan of shiny ceramic bezels so another point to the Pelogos.

    Tudor for me. The black matte is stealthy cool. Seamaster is the watch for your fat uncle from the 90s, the bracelet is terrible and desperately needs a tapper.
