- I've been doing a lot of gear guides lately, so here's another one! This video talks all about my collection of cams I use for rock and alpine guiding/ climbing. I also talk about some older gear that I don't use as much anymore.

my guy is stacked up. I enjoy ur videos and i thank you for them i learn more and enjoy them and appreciate your time and effort into making these videos
Totems have become very common in the northeast, especially in the gunks. They seem more solid in irregular and horizontal placements than more traditional cams.
I climb mainly at seneca in WV. Totems are the best imo for that style of climbing/rock. Thin irregularl seams with the occasional horizontal placement! Highly recommend!
I really like Wild country friends from 0.4 to 3, bit lighter than regular BD C4 and have double loop sling. Totems are perfect for limestone. I also find usefull ball nuts and tricams.
I love Aliens and Dragonflies, BUT since they have less camming range than double axle cams like BDs (at least above .3) it always throws me off a bit when placing them because they don't fit in that wider range of cracks that will be allowed by the double axle cams. However micro cams (under .3) don't have as much of an issue with this... Other topic - people talk about Totems breaking in shallow horizontal placements if fallen on because of the trigger wires? Any thoughts on this? Come climb in Maine sometime!
I think it's nice to have a mixture of double axel and single axel cams for the reason of some fitting into different placements than others. Same with the totems vs BD's because the Totems have a slightly wider range than the BD equivalents. I think most of this also depends on the area that you climb in, since some gear works better with different types of rock.
I also havn't heard about totems breaking in any sort of placement, the only cams I've heard about breaking at the Link cams that aren't made anymore. Even though I havn't use the Link's it seems like most of the breaking is caused by user error, maybe that's the same with the totems?
i do the same thing with my yellow totem, racking it on a gray crab to match my 0.4
Yeah, what's up with the little yellow one? And the 2 being orange!
@@user-pr5tx9ep4m I think the yellow is close to an alien yellow? Not sure, haven't used aliens
@@Friendfox Ok. Yeah, I always wondered if there was some logic for breaking what seems like the "standard" color sequence.
I think the z4s have made the c4s obsolete .75 and smaller. They are so much better.
As in how and why they blowout?
Hey size isn’t…. 😳 never have I seen a #8 before. Wow
