In my personal experience, over the years Silent Hill has morphed from an artistically intricate nightmare to a place where one goes to be at peace. Where dreams - good and bad - stay forever in a slumber. Those tunes certainly help with that.
After playing Silent Hill, I actually feel sad rather than fear, especially because of the fate of Alessa. She is always trapped within an endless nightmare which she creates. And even in this hell, villains still use it to advance their schemes, and sinners always come to repent for their sins.

I feel so calm and so relaxed when I hear Silent Hill music. But there are moments when I feel my heart twisting and beating harder. Mostly because I have my associations and nostalgia about the time I have first encountered these melodies. The way it is as complexed to me as heart-to-heart is so unique, and beautiful, that I can’t really shape it in words.
This is one of the best mixes I've found on RUclips so far. You strike a very good balance through your selection of tracks, which is commendable. Many playlists tend to forget the "ambience" part and make it a little too exciting, but this does evoke a sense of relaxation.
Nothing resonates with me as much, as Silent Hill's atmosphere and soundtrack... it's just so spot on, it's flawless in my eyes. I'm so happy I stumbled upon it in the past, and now it's a genuine motivator in my goal of becoming a writer. It's just... perfect for writing. ^^
I know Silent Hill but have never played it. Yet, I am absolutely in love with the sountrack. It's dark and spooky sometimes and other times just flat out beautiful.

Ah, Silent Hill, my strange wondrous and horrible little place of wonder and nightmares. I still remember seeing the movie at night and immediately freaking out because my town had an air raid siren that wnt off whenever the fire/ambulances left from their station three blocks from my apartment. Thanks for sharing the music from what was and is one of the best ever psychological horror games ever! Team Silent really captured the essence of what is true horror, that forever reaching for hope to save us from the nightmares of our deepest imaginings, and almost never reaching it except for when we've earned it.

Finally a mix that isn't just Silent 2/3. While the later Silwnt Hill games weren't too great, the soundtracks were still top tier and should be appreciated more. Great list!
Silent Hill games really foster visceral emotions. In Silent Hill, the first game, the sense of relief after beating the school boss is palpable. The corridors are empty of threats, the atmosphere light. In the third game, staring at the twirl & hurl rides spinning absently in the amusement park fosters a deep sense of melancholy. I haven't even mentioned the second game...
I heard there's a lot of monsters you have to beat in the game. As well as the music score being so beautiful and emotional. People think it's a horror game but from the music at least it makes me feel more sad than scared, though there are more scary tracks. I'm hoping to play the game soon since I love it so much.
1:04:40 (Burple and Pine: Silent Hill Origins) has a background track found in RE4's merchant room theme "Serenity" and a couple other games like WOW i believe. It's interesting to see how some games slow it down to make it more desolate and creepier, or how some change it to make it more mystical/magical/pleasant

Never forgive me nwver forget me is such a beautifully haunting piece , very serene and still but it implys a darkness from ages past that still looms , it might relax me but all the same it does give me a bit of a chill haha but still a wonderful piece of music masterfully written
