    with the antenna you are using in this video, it is more then likely only pulling in uhf channels, because it has no vhf elements on it, if you want to stay with an indoor antenna, get the clearstream 2 max, comes with a tAbletop stand, and a j pole, and mount kit so you can use it infdoors or outdoors, and it has a damn good vhf element for high vhf channels if you have any vhf channels local

    If your Plex server is running off a low power NAS device it may not be powerful enough to do the DVR as it will be encoding the videos I believe which is very CPU intensive.

    Can anyone point out how this device differs from, a Tablo? Is the tuner more sensitive? Is the interface better?

    Here is something I just learned. I thought this device would provide me with MORE channels than I get with my antenna. That is not true. You will only get the channels you were getting with your antenna alone. In other words, it's only as good as your antenna. I'm sure many already knew this, but the way the company presents it, some would misunderstand.

      All it is is a tuner card which allows you to view live TV on computers and mobile devices anywhere there is an internet connection

    • @MarkPlante
      @MarkPlante  2 года назад

      I haven't tried it, but I would assume that if you can connect to your home network with your smartphone browser it would work. I would check with the manufacturer first though. Go to their website. I know that I am able to view TV and Plex on my phone in my home though.

      Buildings will prevent you from getting signals. They are rolling out a new format OTA TV, ATSC 3.0 where there will be better reception. From what I understand, some stations currently use it and it should be fully out in 2-3 years
