Dear Brett, You are one of the few people I have followed and trusted for years about the guitar tones hidden inside my guitar equipment. Thanks for the references.😇
Agreed. I have an Eastman SB59/V thanks to your positive review of it and great demos. I followed that up with the purchase of an Eastman SB55 and absolutely love it as well. 👍
Did you know that there is a new firmware out for the original Ampero? That is real service!! But sadly no Linux software so no sale. I will not buy half a product.
@@JTB-- Yes Linux. The OS that you own and have 100% control over? It doesn't phone home or share your data. It has no adverts in it. It runs 95% of the internet servers and 199% of IOT devices. It gets updates that you decide if and when to install it. Linux is far more advanced than any other OS out there. The code is there for all with intelligence to examine, unlike other locked Oses out there. I fail to get the 8 track tape jibe. Stupid shortsighted manufacturers fail to make software available for Linux users but did you know the software running inside the Ampero is Linux? They just lost a sale and maybe you grew some brain cells.
Hi Brett, great tones and playing. Is the unit actually this good or are you the one responsible for the great sound? :) I have a Line 6 Helix Rack in my main recording room but was looking for a smaller more portable unit to use in another room and also carry around with me. Would you recommend this or something else from some other company?
The scenes option is....the most appreciated ...option I found already with Fractal with their AX8 which goes back to some 10 years ago (?) ...with 8 scenes options per preset that was filling every need for a guitar player. This seems to go down the very same path ....only some 10 years later. It's worth giving this "machine" a go anyway as long as tones are worth of consideration. To watch it closely in the near future.
Dear Mr Brett...With regards to the two pairs of outputs (Unbalanced 1/4" & Balanced XLR), is it possible for a preset, to assigned the unbalanced 1/4" output(s) to have all the sound of that particular preset WITHOUT the cab/IR sound (so i can send it to a guitar amp's or 2 guitar amps' FX Return), while the balanced XLR output(s) having all the sound of that preset WITH the cab/IR sound (to send to the PA system/recording device)? I hope you can answer this...🙏🙏🙏 Btw, i'm always am amazed of how you always sounds so good, no matter what guitar/pedals/amps that you come up with! You're the BEST!!
Thanks so much for the kind words. All I do with gear is coax what I want to hear from it, not necessarily what someone else wants. So I try to make it work for me. If it doesn't or cannot, I usually send it back as I'm clearly not the right person to be presenting it. With regards to your question: the only way I can sort of see this scenario happening is with No Cab Mode control on either left or right outputs, not balanced or unbalanced. So for example you can tell the left output to see the IR's and the right output to bypass IR's. Perhaps in a future firmware update this could be ported to the unbalanced and balanced outputs as well or instead. Cheers.
@@BrettKingman Thanks for the answer. I hope in next updates they implement the option to select no CAB/IR in unbalance outputs (like Helix line) Saludos
i know you mentioned this but in a nut shell is this just the Stage with a expression pedal built in? can the stage do the Tone Catch as well with update? asking as this looks like its $100 less than the stage, ive been waiting to get a stage used for a year but if this is the same id prefer the expression pedal on it.
Yes, the Stage will enjoy a firmware update shortly that will give it everything you see here. That will come today or tomorrow, I believe. Not far off anyway.
The firmware in the two is exactly the same. Just depends on what interface you prefer - Stage with no expression pedal and 5 Scenes, or Ampero II with 4 Scenes and an expression pedal. Otherwise the sounds are identical.
Hi Brett thanks for the great video! Is one of the differences vs the Ampero II Stage is that the Ampero II does not have an App to control it? I could only find an Ampero II Stage app for iOS. Does it also work with the Ampero II? Thanks again.
Please show us how to use it as virtual capo. I used pitch shift fx. It sounded like shit. I set min at 0, max at 12 and position at 6 to shift the pitch up 6 frets.
They're similar in concept but different in features and software. I guess it just depends on what you want from your unit. 100 features that you won't use might seem attractive as a sales pitch but it's probably wise to focus on what you need and will actually use. For that reason, I'd leave the choice up to the user.
Yes you can. It's in the manual, Pg.71. hotoneaudio.oss-accelerate.aliyuncs.com/prod/support/Ampero%20II_Online%20Manual_EN_Firmware%20V1.1.0.1730972156032.pdf
I had a BOSS multi effects a few years ago; sold it and went back to pedals. I couldn't get on with digital fizz. Seven/eight years on, I'm thinking things should have improved, so I bought the Fender ToneMaster Pro a couple of weeks ago. Spent two days with it and sent it back. Utter crap. Dozens upon dozens of very similar Fender amp tones, with a 'Brit' amp that was risible. This week I bought the BOSS GX-100, and sent that back this morning. A gazillion amps and FX and it took me hours just to get an almost-passable cleanish Peter Green-like tone out of it (on HB guitars). BTW, who uses all the ludicrously daft presets on these things? Digital fizz was WORSE than the old BOSS I had years ago!! So, it's back to my twenty-tear old BOSS DR880 which has a terrific pallet of sounds with no digital fizz. So, here's another one, the Hotone. Is it worth ordering and trying it, I wonder?
Pound for pound the most trustworthy source on the Internet. Well done Brett.
yeah, but he has emptied my bank account over the years! Lol,Brett is awesome!

I have original Ampero which I thought was great. This is so good. Amazing tones and playing, Brett.

Sounds great that guitar. Impressed by the sounds from the Hotone.
Thank you, Brett! Always brilliant reviews!

Great tones and playing, as always!
That's cool controlling the vibe rate with the expression pedal. I would do something like that with the tremolo, making it chop on some parts!

dear Brett is it possible to use 2 delays together as gx100 ?
Sure thing.

Can you compare it to the ampero stage II the one that has no exp pedal?

buying a modeller like this in the next few weeks Brett , this - the Boss gx 10 or 100 or the Valeton , what unit do you prefer ?
👍🏻👍🏻
Can u use the ampero switch as a bank up and bank down? So u will not use the 1 + 2 and 2 + 3 switch on the ampero 2. Hope u response. Thankyou!
what about dynamics?

Digital fizz in you head only

Have you tried using the high cut on your modelers? Usually it removes that digital fizz sound
