  • There has been multiple missile strikes and air raids during our week in Odesa. On this day walking around the city center, we passed upon a Cathedral that was partially destroyed by a Russian missile. Later that day while watching the ballet at the Opera house another air alert forces us to vacate. Here's footage from that day.

Of course they are lying g*ts who blame Ukraine for all the destruction of their own country. How utterly stupid can they get. Deliberate lies and they know it but stupid fools believe it.

@@natalyazhishkene568 What are you talking about? Russia has fired thousand of missiles into Ukraine since Feb. 2022, striking hundreds of apartment buildings, shopping centers, churches, theaters, hospitals, power stations, etc. It has killed tens of thousands of Ukraine civilians, its soldiers have committed hundreds of rapes and close-range executions. If it was a Ukrainian missile that hit that market, it was only because Ukraine was trying to shoot down an incoming Russian missile - Russia is still to blame for the missile strike. Ukraine does not fire missiles into Russia and deliberately kill Russian civilians.

the reason the washing powder is in the shop is because its a "corner shop". Maybe america doesn't have these but in Europe we have little shops we just pop into that have essentials so we don't have to go to the bigger supermarkets, which tend to be further away and take much longer to get that 1 or 2 items you need. Does america have these "corner shops?" Or do you just have the bigger ones?

Yes. 7-11 (it's name), KwikTrip (gas station) and most drug stores are "corner markets". I can buy most everything at a hardware store too, some sell limited food (Menards) others don't.

In the UK, ours are tiny little ones, like the one in the video and then we have express supermarkets which are a miniature of our bigger supermarkets and then petrol (gas) Station tend to have a few essentials in. We have a fair few tiny corner shops as our big supermarkets tend to be spread out in bigger towns or city areas so the little villages have them.

@@aviadilo Most of the small variety shops in my part of the US have been replaced by Dollar General, other dollar stores, & specialty shops like a hardware store, a pet store, a pharmacy, little cafes or Mexican, Chinese etc restaurants. Aldi is a short drive, another half mile gets me to two very large grocery stores with other departments such as clothing, shoes, furniture, pharmacy etc. There is a small chain here of dairy stores which also sell gas and some household goods in addition to milk eggs ice cream bread coffee, cereal donuts etc. I would never purchase laundry detergent at a small neighbourhood shop, because it would always cost 2 to 8 times more than it would at Dollar General or one of the larger stores! I stock up whenever I see a sale, & often I can get two jugs for the price of one, several times a year.

Re the bulk coffee and cleaning supplies sold from booths in the center of Odesa, I imagine it's convenient for people living in that area to be able to buy stuff like that from those booths. Why drive to a Walmart-type superstore, filled with hundreds of people, and wait in long lines, especially if you just need a few things? In any case, most of the shoppers buying from those booths probably don't own cars.

In historical fairness, Odessa was established as a city in the Russian Empire by Catherine The Great in 1794. It was not under Soviet occupation as the USSR was naturally the successor to the Russian Empire. One of the most Russian speaking cities in the region. This being said, the destruction and military attacks are always unwelcome and to be condemned.

      Facts:
      - Odessa used to be a big Greek trading city 2K years before Muscovy even decided to call itself "Russia".
      - The city was transformed from a sleepy sea village by Voivode of Kiev (1791), Antoni Protazy Potocki and Ukrainian workers' labour and skills.
      - The USSR officially denied it's succession to Russian Empire.
      - By every international law and agreement, including those signed by Russia, Odessa is Ukraine.
This being said, the "everything has many sides to it" and "the truth is in the middle" narrative smells Kremlin big time.

During Sri Lankan civil war, Ukraine was accusing Sri Lanka as War criminals eventhough Sri Lankan brave forces were fighting against the most powerful terrorist goup in the world ( LTTE ) according to FBI. But What even after the war what Ukraine did was very bad accusing Sri did war crimes which was completely bullshit. On 16th of May 2009, LTTE terrorists were hostaging more than 100k innocent tamil civilians as their war dome. Sri Lankan war heroes rescued off of them but on 19th May, sent all terrorist leaders to the heaven...🇱🇰💪😎👍

Until 2013, Ukraine was under the strong influence of Russia. In particular, political, economic, cultural. Just so you understand, Russia somehow shot down a passenger plane, Ukraine took the blame. Therefore, I suggest following Ukraine after 2013.

@@uaroot USA killed Saddam Husain for no reason. Did they find mass destruction bio weapons in Iraq..?
Ukraine has influence of Russia because they are neighbours and USA was trying trying to keep Ukraine as their billyboy by posing nuclear threatene to Russia. That's the main reason for all. If cyprus takes the fullside of Russia or China then, Europe and greece will be angry. If Sri Lanka gets the full side of China, then India and USA gets angry. Simple as that.
