People asking questions about how come the country is still functioning and why all men are not on the front should read some history books and try using their brains a bit. Wars have been fought non stop throught history, while life simultaneously going on as usual as much as possible. How do you expect people to get food, goods, receive education, medical help etc if everything completely stopped? And why should it? The soldiers need resources too, people have their lives to live and not everybody is or has to be involved in the war.
I found the video you incorporated from your friend Patrick and his Comrade interesting and also the video on the animal shelter. As someone who eats to live, rather than lives to eat, I find the food videos less interesting. Having said that, your strawberries are half the price I pay here and they seem a much darker red in colour. Strawberries are my favourite fruit and I like a variety called El Santa, very sweet and delicious. It is easy to find photographs taken of the Blitz in London during WWII. Many show shop owners brushing up shards of glass, with mannequins in the window propping up a sign stating, Business as Usual. The bombs didn't break the spirit of the British, it just made them more determined to defeat Hitler. The Russian bombing will not break the spirit of the Ukrainian people either. They are made of the same metal. We, their friends and Allies in the UK will stand with them to the bitter end, when they drive Putin's hordes from Ukrainian soil. We shall be there to help our friends reconstruct their homes and businesses when this war is over. God bless each and every one of them. Slava Ukraini.

I wonder how many men would have really stayed in the country if the borders were open for men aged 18-60.. About those fit men wondering around, there's an old saying which says "The best place to hide from police - is right near police".
Most people I know would stay. Also, I have a lot of friends, who can freely leave the country (me included) but doesn't do so. I mean, why would I leave if I have a big house, good job and the best level of services here ?
@@ozzless not everybody does. Around 10-15% of ukrainian gdp prewar was made from the money ukrainians sent from abroad, thus they were working there, many of them worked seasonly - now they are staying home with kids while their wives work abroad instead. It's not so hard, you basically go and register as a volunteer then you can exit the country. So if you open the borders now, maybe a small fraction will go, but not more. What will they do abroad ? For most majority of people their level of living in Ukraine is much higher than it would be if they move away.
Restaurants and cafes do not make an economy. I’d suggest that the biggest employers would be the government and the newly formed “war support” industry eg all the animal shelters opening with a few animal cages - all requiring foreign donations to function… wonder what’s going to happen when the funds dry up.
People eat in restaurants, cafes, fast food, street food, supermarket's prepared dishes. These establishments buy products mainly from local farmers. They also pay for electricity, water, gas. In turn, farmers pay their workers and suppliers. Thousands of couriers have jobs. 1000 restaurants are not only 10k restaurant employees. These are hundreds of thousands of real people in the supply chain who have jobs, or at least better living conditions, because a hypothetical 1,000 restaurants are operating. This is far from the whole economy. But food is a very important component of life and there is no point in shaking or limiting this ecosystem while it regulates itself and even tries to develop itself.
Hey Johnny great video !! Slava Ukraine! But , I have to comment on the topic of fighting aged men . Ukraine made a fatal mistake, they did what most western countries have done , cut their military in half , very low numbers in soldiers , women in the army taking up men’s spot . Russia and Finland has mass conscription . For example Finland every man most do military service , and that’s the only reason Russia hasn’t invaded . Ukraine has a small army and I’m so sad to admit this , but they lost the war . Just like in 2014 . It’s over . I hate this so much , but it’s facts . Ukraine keeps on making the same mistake. And here we are again . The war is over and lost , the bad guys won . Also nato is not much to count on , most militaries are small and only enough to cover their own countries ( except Finland ) . When you are a neighbor of Russia you most take defence seriously , otherwise , you lose your freedom . And let’s not forget how horrible the first 3 days of the war was , when the Ukrainian army was barely visible and Russians had full open fields to destroy civilians by running them over with tanks. Another huge Ukrainian failure . The whole point with an army is to stop the enemies immediately by force , not let this situation happend . So no , they did mess up bad , those men walking around should been drafted and trained 10 years ago . But here we are.
again the poor get slother in wars... and people with money laugtg about.... they are defending the rich people properties..... disgusting all this shit ... i hate war in europe. theres to much tax already we just want to live our lifes....
those on video are not rich people, rich people were either collaborating with russia, or escaped to monaco immediately or even before start of invasion. So if you see a rich ukrainian riding an expensive car somewhere in Europe, and he is not a diplomat - beat him for me.
I have worked with Americans, my compatriots, and other Westerners before in a couple other countries, know those folks real well, and I may responsibly state most of them are just adventurers, soldiers and businessmen of fortune, here in Ukraine too. Folks who serve various ends in the country, have escape routes open for them and will hit the road as soon as things will get really hairy. They don't give a sh.t about Ukraine, view it only as business.
Nice to see normal life going on. Excellent big F you to Putin and his barbarian hordes. Not seen much vegan food though. I am never likely to come to Ukraine but from your videos it doesn't look like there is much for vegans. Pity.
Normal life is going on due to Putin's humanity. They should be grateful to Russian army that it doesn't lead the war the way USA and NATO do. That it spares civilians.
bald and bankrupt allowed in ukraine last time he was turned away from the border because he had to many exit stamps to russia .... ut in the end russia banned him for negative comments which wasnt true
I don't know if it is such a great idea to show how normal or vibrant life is in Kiev these days.....if I were a Russian commander watching this video....I would probably order more missile strikes on Kiev....what do you think?
they would order some of restaurants attack randomly anyway as soon as they get new rockets shipment, so only way to stop russian is to slauu-ghter them, stopping making videos will not help.
32:08, yes this is buckwheat or grechka. This also the reason, why Russians and Ukrainians are basically the same. They all like grechka. They argue about the taste of RU versus UA grechka, but in USA it can be bought only in Slavic stores. Nice. As long as grechka and Slavs are there, you Ukrainians can argue, but when US would seed your fields with corn and wheat by their means, there would NOT be any buckwheat for you anymore. Be nice to your brothers, whether you like grechka, you silly people.

There is a compensation you are allowed to apply via government program to fix your house. The maximum you can get is 200k uah or $5000. Of course you can't build a new house on that money but you can install new windows, fix your roof or completely fix 1 big room in your house or apartment and buy a furniture for this one particular room. But it's $5k, while usually people get $1-2k so they can install new windows only. If your house is completely destroyed, you are done. P.s. need to mention that it's not easy to get even $1k to repair your house. You need to go through lot of hell so people just giving up and do not count on a government. About those fit men wondering around, there's an old saying which says "The best place to hide from police - is right near police".
Millions more than you obviously think, ukrainians are brave jic you haven't noticed
This on many occasions resulting in marriages falling apart(now is the highest number of divorces).
Not everybody lived in Kyiv(and other big cities), you know(?)- and even prewar - there was hard times with finding high paying job in provinces.
@@Brendanno100 yes, there's plenty who would have stayed, as well as there's millions who would have left a long time ago if they knew Russia would really attack.(and I'm not talking about russian patriots now)
@@vkt2805 While what you said is true, my answer to your original question still stands. Most men who wanted to leave - already left. It's not so hard, you basically go and register as a volunteer then you can exit the country. So if you open the borders now, maybe a small fraction will go, but not more. What will they do abroad ? For most majority of people their level of living in Ukraine is much higher than it would be if they move away.
That steak was freakin awesome looking!!!😊
Life goes on, Russians or not
Any chance Bald might come back to the Ukraine?
I believe, when war is over he can go back to Ukraine, for Russia, the system of government hast to change.

But here we are.
dude, stop pissing in your pants. gosh
Precisely, stop pissing in your pants bud! 🤦♂️
Not going to lie, I would have grabbed Belgium Stella out of all that, unless Obolon beer was there

again the poor get slother in wars... and people with money laugtg about.... they are defending the rich people properties..... disgusting all this shit ... i hate war in europe. theres to much tax already we just want to live our lifes....
They are defending their lives. Although most of the rich people aren't eager to defend themselves.
those on video are not rich people, rich people were either collaborating with russia, or escaped to monaco immediately or even before start of invasion.
Talk for yourself
And what county are you from? I guess you don't want any Americans helping you out..

Nice to see normal life going on. Excellent big F you to Putin and his barbarian hordes. Not seen much vegan food though. I am never likely to come to Ukraine but from your videos it doesn't look like there is much for vegans. Pity.
There are a lot of special restaurants for vegans in Kyiv. It's just looks like Johnny is not interested in them.
Vegans 🫣
There are lots of vegan restaurants in Kyiv.
Normal life is going on due to Putin's humanity. They should be grateful to Russian army that it doesn't lead the war the way USA and NATO do. That it spares civilians.
You have good heart Johnny ♥️

he can stay there and gobble gobble russian u know what
I don't know if it is such a great idea to show how normal or vibrant life is in Kiev these days.....if I were a Russian commander watching this video....I would probably order more missile strikes on Kiev....what do you think?
they would order some of restaurants attack randomly anyway as soon as they get new rockets shipment, so only way to stop russian is to slauu-ghter them, stopping making videos will not help.

I am Ukrainian and I hate grechka. Everyone has own preferences.
@@RuZZkiy-Vanka You forgot to mention country which produces the most of buckwheat. It is your favorit country 🤣🤣🤣
Поки на гречку є попит, і добра ціна в Україні, ніякі американці не змусять фермерів сіяти що треба Америці. І я думаю , що в Америці достатньо своєї пшениці та кукурудзи, щоб потребувати української)
@@user-zn8ks8hl9n I see your point, but it is irrelevant. My message has been, that to help you in arguing over little things with your brothers, you were calling Americans to resolve your dispute with Russians. But you forgot in-between, that enemy of your enemy is NOT your friend!

People homes have been destroyed what they have bought. Can you answer what compensation they received from countries who have given millions to help.
Neighbors and friends help each other by collecting donations and giving it to people in need.
@@tasarlapar456 In case you don't have nice neighbours and friends, there is a next obvious solution. You can volunteer for Zaporozhye counteroffensive. If you'll become hero, you're dead. In any other case where you'll survive, you'll receive additional bonus depending on your merits. Good luck!
This sounds like a troll comment. But either way the countries who have given millions to Ukraine wasn't given in cash or for rebuilding homes, 99% of it has been in defense.
@@JohnnyFD Support package in money for Ukraine from EU is €18 billion for 2023. This is in the form of highly concessional loans, disbursed in regular instalments as of beginning 2023. Are you suggesting, that EU is giving 162 billion euros in weapons?!
